  • One of my last flights aboard one of the last flights of the MD 90 airplane. Though not as popular as the MD 88, this plane will be remembered alongside its fellow md-series planes as one of the most iconic
    planes in the sky.

    Fantastic video. I had a chance to fly a Delta MD-90 last February, and it didn't disappoint. Always loved the V2500 engine sounds on Spirit's A320s (which I flew pretty regularly before COVID), and figured that they would be even better up close :)

      The aircraft was taking off with a reduced power setting. Most takeoffs are at reduced power. When they selected climb power at 1000 feet it happened to be a higher power setting. I noticed that on the video as well.

    • @burtonrider316
      @burtonrider316 3 роки тому

      Its the transition to climb power which is a function of cost index. So sometimes the cost index is higher than the de rate for takeoff.

      It’s from the fan blades going supersonic. Newer engines with bypass gears don’t tend to spin as fast and thus, the buzz saw is (unfortunately) mostly eliminated or eliminated entirely
