Tommy Atkins is also extremely popular in Southern Africa where it is commercially planted in most of the countries. A really beautiful mango but outclassed by many others. It's an early season cultivar in this part of the world.
I'm up in Boston and I just had my first Tommy mango, I was very impressed. I don't like overly sweet fruit and had a great texture and aroma. I like it!

I love a good Tommy Atkins Mango! It does get a lot of hate. I don't think it has too much fiber. TA I think is very versatile in what you can do with it. It's a great juicing mango also.
The tool is good for both things. When I need a longer picker I use the common wire basket style picker but I have installed it on the longest extendable painting pole I could find at Home Depot.
Taste is subjective. Store bought Tommy is Nasty. I have no reason to plant one when there are many others that are better. Teachers live much better than many of us out here. If you hate Florida so much they could use you in Kali.
They are an OK fruit. But they are not Mangos. If they were mangos, they would be the lowest quality ones. They look very attractive, have along shelf life, they are very prolific bearer trees, relatively low maintenance, but fibrous and no mango flavour.
If I only worked 75% of the year, I imagine my pay wouldn't be great either. Nothing wrong with working for what you earn. Stop begging for more money and start producing value so you can be paid better.
Here in Ecuador South america Tommy is the most grown mango variety, is a good mango and we love it green or ripe.
I like Tommy, and I think Teachers are the best, we need higher pay. Enjoyed guys

Very nice. I’m about to get into bees too. Going to set some traps this spring and see what happens
Does usually take long to ripen? I had it in the cupboard for a week and the skin is getting shriveled but it’s still hard 😢
My phone heard me at costco saying i hate tommy atkins
May I ask where you bought your mango picking tool?
Amazon: KSEIBI 143020 Long Reach Cut and... www.amazon.com/dp/B075Q4HBDS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

How would you suggest I order the Tommy Atkins tree from Florida..
Depends on where it’s going. What is the destination?
How is about palma?
How can I buy your fruits? what website?
When mango season comes: bearingfruittropicals.com
Im sure if you grow it it could be OK. I avoid Tommy Atkins at the store because its that bad.
I’m germinating three Tommy’s as we speak .
Vigorous tree but terrible fruit.
Hi Vince.. Tommy really has a bad rap

It's seems to Myself about Tommy Adkins mango that the origin of Miyazaki mango.
Miyazaki is the “Irwin” mango in Florida.
