@@gg_master109 if you're playing on All the mods version, normal minecraft bread won't feed them because it's an ingredient to make toast, I suggest you check if your restaurant has a chef, and cultivate potatoes because it's the fastest and easiest way to feed your colony :) or if you're already in the process and have a lot of bread and a level 3 restaurant, just teach your Assistant cook the recipe for toast! but baked potatoes are the way to go imo

I'm building a mod pack focused on improving Survival Mode and MC in general. Think of Better Minecraft with bits of TerraFirmaCraft thrown in. I've thought of rebuilding civilization as a mid-game thing, replacing Villages completely (I've been bothered by how they make Survival too easy since Beta 1.8). I've made the Town Hall block craftable with Soulsand and Blaze Powder. It would seem as if you've made a human Spawner that gives the Nether's tormented souls another chance at life, heh.
For some reason, Visitors in my game never enter the tavern/sit down. They just wander around the far reaches of town, but thankfully, monsters also don't attack them. Only way one died for me once was because he touched an uninsulated high voltage cable.. pretty far away from the actual town
I've been playing a modpack that includes minecolonies but am just now starting to make my own town but discovered that there are already minecolony villages i can just claim as my own but have no idea what to do or where to start, so ill be watching all your vids on the subject before i start.
As someone who has messed with it recently, I'd suggest grinding the rest of the game for a while. Don't save it for last, but do have a massive stockpile of resources of every kind on hand.
@Sjin I didn't realize until this video that there was no way to own multiple colonies? Aside from multiple characters, is there really no way to own more than one? I had an epic idea about a world with a bunch of different cities connected using Create trains and stuff. 😢
Minecraft comes alive reborn might be the best option for you. It has a similar vision of more lively villagers but goes about it a very different way.

Regarding "the best stats", when your colony really starts to come together and you have children being born, a library, a combat academy, etc, "the best stats" aren't necessarily as obvious as it seems. While having those specific stats will be better right away, having higher Intelligence, which increase with children born and studying, will help them improve faster when in their job. So while another colonist might be better at first, such as a builder with better Adaptability and Athletics working faster than one with lower stats there but higher Intelligence, as they work, their stats will continue to rise, with the one with better Intelligence rising faster and higher. That means it's a bit of a trade off, slower at first as an investment to be even faster later. Of course, when getting colonists from the Tavern or before you build a School and Library, it's not likely their Intelligence stats will differ enough for it to really matter, your priority should be on the actual stats needed being higher so that they can get the job done faster so you can get those buildings. But after that is set up, it's often a worthwhile trade off.
Can you make multiple colonies if theyre distanced from eachother? like say I wanted to make a whole country with like 10 colonies in it, can I do that?

I taught it crafting recipes for various food items but they just keep smelting steak and standing around talking all day. Very realistic chefs 👨🏻🍳. If you can think about a video specifically about which crafting to teach each building that’d be really helpful, I understand it probably changes with each of the build presets you can use. Will colonists sleep in any bed placed around the colony for example my pig farmer was complaining about a far walk to and from work so I put a bed in the pig farmer building

It’s an awesome mod, but too complicated for me I reckon. I use Millenaire, and they basically take care of themselves, but I can provide them with resources that they need and then actually use. I love modders, they keep games alive and they do it out of love.
Unfortunately no, however, if you want to crave your itch, you could download the mod millenaire. Does basically the same thing as minecolonies but the Ai will build everything themselves and can declare war. @@FadedInsomniac

if you make a recipe with beef in it. dont allow them to use the ingridients to make less valuable foods. like steak
