Vanilla villages "molding to the landscape" is stretching it in my experience. Ever since the village update, not a single village I have visited has been intact enough to be saved. Villages divided by a ravine, half on a giant cliff, houses standing 5 blocks above all others... yeah it's something.
Well i guess optimizing that would decrease the probability of a village spawing by a lot, so it is better to rely on the usual generation for the higher probability

I think Minecraft needs to add a few things to add to villages. Make villages which are your standard villiage but add maybe a villiager who attacks mobs with a sword and is wearing leather armour. Call him a defender. Then at a Fortified village with guards in Iron, chainmail and leather armour. They use swords, bows and cross bows to defend the villiage. And add a baron who lives in a cobblestone tower. Then finally add a fortress or castle with a massive custom Villiage and a king with lots of chests to raid and food. And the best part of this is if you steal from the villiagers there is a 25% chance they turn hostile and attack you. I like the idea of a pilliager boss though.

because mojang has something called management. No developer can make any update for a game by themselves as they please. You surely haven't heard about conflicting ideas between employees in the workplace and what the CEO of a game does
If we go into the specifics of it, you'll realize that he's been saved multiple times throughout this video by tools Mojang made to help mapmakers and modders. Being a dev at Mojang ain't about making the biggest new feature, it's about bugfixing, considering the balance of the game perpetually, stress testing things to hell and back, making sure everyone's clear on what the new ideas are and how they serve players and MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL, they add new tools for players and creators to make use of behind the scenes. They could have easily left the ability to snap to terrain as something you have to code a bunch of stuff for to make happen, hell, even Whimzee expected that to be the case. But no. Write a small little line and BAM minecraft does it for you. This is the stuff Mojang adds that few actually understand the impact of. The part in the intro at 0:18 with all the pillagers standing in units really reminded me on Star Wars episode 7 when general Hux gave a speech right before obliterating the Hosnian system.
That scene goes hard in German
That remains me of another guy giving a speech. imagine if some of the pillagers had banners.
13:45 Mojang could do this by making bosses drop tool templates that change how tools look
9:17 “C-CUS HE’LL TURN SIDEWAYS A-AND START STABBING!1!!1”
14:00 don't worry, 1.21 is adding renewable diamonds anyway.
i think the reason that jarl does not block in first phase was cuz he did not have much reaction time, but in second phase, he had reaction time enough to block arrows with the power of odin
6:45 bad omen bottle
Bro predicted it
Very impressive boss design and concept. And probably the best way to ‘align’ yourself with illagers.
8:30 Bob tha great pillager is here!
Also, I just realized: Does that sword only make PILLAGERS friendly once you kick the Jarl's ass, or does that include Vindicators and Evokers too?
We need a big villages with pillagers as guards with swords, axes, crossbows, bows, helmets, shields, horses, commander and a boss
The Pillager Jarl is just Evil Guts and you cannot convince me otherwise.
5:05 Is quite honestly the best part of the entire video
10:17 worlds adrift music :)
"Way behind where I thouhgt i would be" dood is yonks ahead of Mojang's whole ass team of people
0:30 The pillager outpost's biggest problem is the missing wood block

Loved your collab with Shovel241! Amazing video so far.
Bruv, imagine mojang hired developers like you rolling out such updates each month. I have no clue why they haven't thought of it?! You have created & achieved so much more with this update in one week than mojang did in one whole yr. Man deserves a patreon subscription ❤, I wanna play ur updates!
because mojang has something called management. No developer can make any update for a game by themselves as they please. You surely haven't heard about conflicting ideas between employees in the workplace and what the CEO of a game does
@@benedictsawyer8012Microsoft
@@redditreviews9698 If you aren't happy with current minecraft, you could always make your own copy of the game. See if notch decides to help you.
That said, they literally added a major carpet mod feature into vanilla in the latest snapshot. You know, I really didn't see that one coming.
@@WhatIsMyPorpoise yep its mojangs job. Yk to uhh fix problems. Oh no our villages are spawning in the air let's code this in they didn't code it for modders the modders just happen to have access to those tools smh
crazy how it takes a multi billion dollar company a year to make one update and yet a single person can make a better one in a week
0:09 GUTS?!
Hell yeah!!!
I really hope he continues to work on it even after this video, shits dope
For the road issue, I believe you could have just used structure voids to make sure the roads don't replace anything with air, unless I'm misunderstanding
WE GOTTA HAVE THIS!!
You should make your upgrade datapacks into one big datapack! I'd reaaalllly like that!
Anyway, awesome boss! You shall give out classes or tutorials of making stuff like this
Awesome video bro, this mod looks like so much fun
I wonder what music you used for 7:16 cause that song perfectly matches the vibe of a pillager base, that sense of awe, beauty, and ferocity
Do you know whta the track is called?
I found it through shazam it's called I Give Ye My Spirit by Bonnie Grace
@@vinnyfromvenus8188 Do you also k ow the song at 10:25?
Bro predicted the future 💀
mojang should really hire you, you're like a whole dev team yourself lmao
if someone with a fraction of mojangs budget can do this there is no reason to add all three for mojang
The way you can do this in 7 days (not discrediting how impressive this is) really doesn’t warm my heart with 1 new mob a year and a new tree from mojang
1.21 update: new boss new dungeon 20+ new blocks 2 new mobs (including the breeze). Fixed bugs made a lot of tweaks. The crafter (revolutionary). Frying table (this was a leak and might not be true). Thats the minecraft updates if you dont like it then just dont play the game its that simple!
@@fldom4610I mean if mojang worked at whim’s pace (which they should be able to considering they’re multi-billion dollars and have tons of staff), they’d pump out 3x or more content in that time
DUUUUDEEE this so good!! That boss fight is HARD (but also SO fun!)
Thanks for having me man! Every video you put out is so fun and creative. GGs!
Thank you, and thanks for helping with the video! It was a blast having you on :)
ok
6:43 He predicted the ominous bottle
The boss is crazier and more intimidating than the Arch-Illiger. By TONS!
Imagine what this guy can do in a month!
Imagine in a year
6:56
:)
Yet Mojang can’t add 3 mobs in a year
mojang?
@@ThaGreatChemistmoiyang
@@skymed3095 ok
You have to understand he is using pre-existing code where as Mojang writes completely new code. I mean uea it's very underwhelming still
Ok tell me what update exactly adds just 4 mobs for a whole year
Tbh for the reward I would have made the necklace a reward as well as the sword and the necklace is like a totem but it has 6 uses and does the same things as the sword with the pillagers
14:05 well this aged well…
did he just spoil the bad omen potion ?
thanks for the Zelda reference at 11:27
