  • They make a special tool to remove these valve cores. If you don’t have one, a pair of needle-nose pliers can also work. **************************************************

    Thank you. Short and to the point. Very concise. I was tryin to add slime to my new ebike and it comes with a tiny plastic tool to remove. I was able to see the flat part, but I was just not giving it enough force. No leverage with that tiny thing. Your video gave me the confidence I wasn’t going to break my valve stem.

      Yeah man, I tried using the plastic SLIME brand, valve remover (the cap doubles as a remover tool) and it broke in 1/2 second.
      Super thin needle nose worked, thanks Live Free!

    One of every kid's first tool in the toolbox years ago was a valve stem tool. Often they were seen as a cap that fit on the stem. That and a skate key solved most of the transportation needs. That was even before the tube repair kit with the patches and the glue and well before the chain link tool. If you needed a pair of needle nosed pliers, it probably meant you couldn't find the valve stem tool kept somewhere in the junk drawer... your family had a junk drawer, didn't it?

    Nice. Thanks. I've got a non-tire 4 inch PVC pipe water tank application where I want to use these valves. I am wondering if possible to lube and squeeze in valves like this in from outside? Also wondering if will be possible later (when they go bad) possible to remove the entire valve (not just the core) using brute force by pulling on it from the outside as well? think there is a metal lip stop that? I think it will be possible.

    Thanks for tip, you'll reduce the life of the tube if yoy release the air abruptly 👍

    Sir, somehow only my right front and right rear’s valve stem core are shorter compare to left ones after changing new wheels.
    So it’s very hard to check air pressure with my gauge since valve stem cores are shorter and gauge cannot touch (or push) the core...
    How can i resolve this issue?!

    • @tonycharron73
      @tonycharron73 Рік тому

      You can try to "back out" the valve stem a turn or two..... to see if it raises the needle to the point you can use a pressure gauge to check or fill the tires air. SOMTIMES they are threaded in too far. Get a valve tool, or the needle nose plier trick shown here. Just don't remove it all the way... try 1/2 turn, then check....if still not working, try another 1/2 turn....

      You twist counter-clockwise. It's threaded in.

      Imagine, if you will, the possibility of being in a situation where you can't get to the auto parts store. Like say, for instance, oh i don't know... you had a flat tire. Crazy right? It sounds bonkers but you never know.

      You can take time out of your day, pay your petrol for the trip, and pay the 4 bucks if you want if that stimulates you. We would rather walk to our toolboxes and grab the pliers without any stuffing around. So It aint "CHEAP", we're just not DUMB and RUDE. Have a nice day.

    I've been getting even like this for 25 year's. They have to have it towed and the bead with need to be set again to be on the safer side. So it's at least a few hundred dollar repair
