You can actually pull out the valve stem without using that hook. Mechanics use a tool like the one in the kit that threads onto to valve stem and you just pull it hard and it comes right out.
Stop being a Dick at least he learned it. I mean I work in a office I'm no mechanic but I grew up with my dad who also wasn't mechanic but knows from experience of Life. I know how to replace brake pads, oil change, etc. Atleast this youtuber he learned and he can help himself or his neighbors. Such a great feeling of fixing things.
I tried this on an aluminum rim and there was no way I could get it in. Tried everything even a BFH. No luck. Took it to my tire shop and they took the tire off the rim.

Great find. I've never replaced one, but for some reason I always thought you had to insert them from the inside, when there was no tire mounted.
