Main reason i love dire is his consistency like he's exactly 24 hours after the last!
To answer your question kindly, it's a beta testing server. The people make the modpack themselves using versions from a Dropbox. Most of the mods they use have at least a public release, but Xycraft still doesn't work perfectly. No download for everything in one place, though.
One of the best episodes in a while.
Etho is my favorite vanilla builder. Rorax just became my favorite FTB builder, because that is some epic designing!
I love how Dire acts so calm around the mod authors. I would be constantly losing my shit.

It would be pretty easy to automate the TE steam engines with a tree farm that auto smelts wood into charcoal. Another option would be to use a sawmill and feed the engines planks and charcoal from the compressed saw dust.

It depends on how you use them. If you put in 1 coal in the engine the TE engines are more efficient. If you put in an entire stack without turning it off the RC engine is more efficient. (It takes time to heat up). Also charcoal has only half the burning value of coal in RC engines so using charcoal makes TE engines more efficient again. RC engines get even more efficient when used with boilers.
I wish they'd try just a little bit to build something halfway decent looking. That to me is like the ultimate goal of minecraft, to build an awesome looking base. Start with a small wood and cobble house, aquire some advanced gear and use all of those awesome mods to fast track a huge building in a nice scenic location.

Like I said, seems pretty similar to me.
Nitro Creeper was covered in a previous smp episode - forgecraft 1 or two. Not sure which. And Terra whatever - that's beyond me. Also he's careful about what he says on the smp because he plays with the developers and sometimes they don't their surprises in new updates ruined. Nitro creepers are super explosive, Tinker's Construct - used to be in the overworld, but it didn't work out well there.
I love how relaxed the atmosphere between these guys is :D

if you have thermal expansion you can do the pumps in the nether and use tesseracts to either teleport the electricity or the lava over to youre base

I just had to say this. Blender is glorious to work with... once you learn how. I don't know any other program that lets me do almost anything with hotkeys without moving my hands all over the keyboard.

Dire, not sure if you know this but in 1.5.1 you can smelt nether rack and get nether brick ingots which you are able to turn into nether brick.

on the newest version they are testing: the m key gives you the interface. Note that this is for 1.5.2 only atm.
yeah slowpoke is on the server sometimes he is one of the one who made FTB
love your house, I'll use it in all my minecraft worlds, simple, usefull, practic. nothing fancy
you only need 4 to do that but they'd end up damaging someone nearby in a cycle if one was overwound and the rest weren't. It'd make a cheap replacement to the tesla coil. Just guessing, but if it did that would be awesome.

Poor Pahimar. When he finally figures out how to do what he wants, he's just as likely to lose all his work. Been there, done that! The only thing worse than Blender's unintuitive interface is its stability.

After a quick googling of carpe diem, I have discovered it means "seize the day". So it seems like carpe diem means be the best you can be and yolo means SCREW IT I DO WHAT I WANT

You can't, most of these mods are not released to the public in their current versions. Forgecraft is for testing the mods to make sure they work before they get released to the public.

It's not released yet due to the fact that some mod authors aren't comfortable with the stage their 1.5.2 mod is currently at :( but soon it will be released, I'd say give it until 1.6 minecraft (for some reason I think I read somewhere that that is when they are going to release the next actual updated type one)

Gravel ore works in the pulverizer just fine: It's put in the ore dictionary just like the regular ones.
DW, you can get nether brick by smelting netherack, and arranging the bricks you get in a 4X4 pattern in a crafting table. Its another one of those new 1.5 features .__.

The ghost wood door also was opening on its handle side from the inside and when he hit the pressure plate, obviously textured wrong.
I suggest going out into the world carrying a couple stacks of empty cans. its a fun way to clean up surface oil.
It depends on what speed u currently have. If u lagg a lot on HD, they will put it lower to continue the video automaticly.

I've been subscribed to DW20 since his first server series. But anyways..
I haven't played minecraft in over a good half-year. With this new computer, I should try.
Its like a test& private modpack, mods so far i have seen(except ghostwood,nether ores(because i havent been in nether yet in modpack i am menting right now) except in "New World" modpack,its public one(it has those new engines,coustom tools,new ingots)
Dire in vanilla mc1.5 u can smelt netherrack in to a nether brick, that uses a standerd brick recipe to make nether brick blocks
Seems that vanilla hopper made the Buildcraft hopper useless. If I could suggest a modification to the BC, is to add filter slots.
It wouldn't be, they just asked what kind, so she and her friends could play. I think they'd understand that they wouldn't get not, not to mention that they didn't even ask about the Beta-Testing. Only the type of server.

I think forgecraft 3 is for testing out the re-written terra firma craft 2, which I don't think is available yet for the public :D

Hey dire, sorry for the unrelated comment, but did you end up figuring out why you had dangerous flux in the forgecraft 1 overworld workshop?
The node you were dragging closer was an unstable node, which constantly generate flux. Not sure how the node purity bees were interacting with it, but maybe even amplifying that effect?
At any rate its an interesting mechanic - Essentia farm? >:D
Actually you've been able to do that with FTB style mods for quite some time; I forget which mod - IC2 maybe or TE.
