Love this version of Yellow. Her voice totally suits the song. That famous quote of, you should never meet your heroes. Well that depends on who your heroes are. The Coldplay boys seem like genuinely nice guys.
Loved her accent in the song... loved her excitement at meeting and working with Coldplay.... very endearing... confirms my view of Doctor Who and Coldplay.... Good people unaware of their own brilliance.
Jodie is so precious. And I LOVE her cover of Yellow. And it oddly tickles me pink that the woman who portrays the Doctor picked a song I happen to be a big fan of for her part in that album. She's got a lovely singing voice as well.
Jodie u will always still be the doctor who and I am so happy u are the first female one.....girl power so sad u left it, the last episode I watch it I didn't want it to ever appear as it was your last :(
I really don't understand the hate for Coldplay. They seem genuinely nice guys, who happen to be musically gifted. There are those who moan about the songs....why? Coldplay's output has been consistently excellent, and varied. Watching these guys just step into playing these songs like a pair of comfy old shoes, and being pitch perfect is amazing to see, and their live performances sound pretty much like the records. Every performance they do is 1000%. They put the same effort into doing a TV studio performance as they do for a big arena......that's real talent. They are exceptionally talented
I so agree. I do not know why my friends who love Led Zep, The Beatles, ELO, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, The Police, Elton John, Peter Gabriel, U2, etc., do not care for Coldplay. Square One sounds like Sting singing to U2 music. My wife said it sounds like Sting singing to Peter Gabriel music. She's right!!!! I have seen them 6 times in concert in Dallas and every concert gets better and better.
Some people hate just for the hell of it and to tick other people off. I will listen to any type or genre of music and do not give a toss about other peoples opinions on my taste in music. I will listen to big band sounds of the 40's rock n, roll from the 50,s. prog, glam and punk rock from the 70's, new wave in the 80's and everything else that followed, if I like it I will listen, if i don't, i move on. There are so many purely beautiful moments in this of Jodie that I love sooo much. The way she smiles when they first come in and complement her singing, showing her natural warm and inviting personality. The way that smile drops in shock when she realizes who it is that just spoke to her. The way she looks up at them through her fingers, eyes just sparkling at the sight of these brilliant people she admires so much. The genuineness of her voice when she lets them know she might actually cry. That signature Jodie joking when she says she made the song better. The relatability of her being embarrassed to sing in front of them. The way, despite being a relatively confident extravert, she avoids eye contact with them and ends up hanging her arms almost sort of defeatedly at her sides. The determination and maturity as she decidedly collects herself enough to focus on the job and the moment at hand and give her best performance with them. Her reaction to those drums and guitar that she knows all so well coming in during the recording. The way she looks out at them at 3:10. And then you just have all those moments of her both appreciating the music that she’s loved for so long while processing the fact of what is actually going on. (Bonus: As someone who has long loved Coldplay and this song and who takes music appreciation very passionately, it means so very much to me to know that Jodie loves this song too and to hear her singing and loving this thing that also means so much to me that I also sing and love. To hear her sing those lines like “I love you so” and “I’d bleed myself dry”. I can’t... verbalize. 💗)

It’s a shame really because it looks like they are going to do that again with the next doctor, which somehow is now making me wish that Jodie Whitaker that she still stayed on. They really can’t be satisfied it seems at the BBC without making things woke just for the sake of it. Matt Smith is probably the last great Doctor.
@@adventuresinpainting That was the last season. There was some very memorable episodes in the previous two seasons, but apart from that the rest don’t really stick in the heart as much as the David Tennant and Matt Smith seasons did.
Shame about the scripts.
This is why l have been watching Dr Who since 1963.
It brings dreams to life.
As a woman who was first introduced to the show as a child by the 2005 revival (and used to dress up in my parent's clothes to pretend to be a female regeneration of the Doctor)... My dream certainly came true ❤ I just hope I get to meet Jodie in person one day.
@@RightEyeRaptor l am sure you will. Get some good selfies.
@@MichaelWilson-xc1uk Thank you very much ❤
I love this video. Her face when Johnny and Will start playing is priceless.
When Johnny started playing, the world vibe and mood changed
Her reaction when they joined just added more authenticity and trueness to the event!!!
I’ve watched that 2:56 part for more than 20 times where the riff hits 💯
As soon as the drums and guitar started my entire body was covered in goosebumps, and my eyes welled up. 😭😭😭
By a remarkable coincidence, my entire body was covered in eyes and my goosebumps welled up.
1:47 jodie having to remind herself that she's a grown woman will always be hilarious to me
And how she reacted when they started playing... 🤩
Wow this is why Coldplay is the number one band in the world.
I literally can’t watch this without chocking up when she first see them, and then cries when they drop that riff in, and I’ve watched this 30/40 times, every Coldplay fans dream ❤
1. She is adorable. Love her.
2. Old school Coldplay. Awesome
Jodie u will always still be the doctor who and I am so happy u are the first female one.....girl power so sad u left it, the last episode I watch it I didn't want it to ever appear as it was your last :(
That moment when Will and Jonny join in, even thought I was going to cry !!!
She's absolutely gorgeous. Her smile is enchanting.
I never watched Dr. Who, nor ever heard of Jodie. But after this, it makes me want to become a big fan. So beautiful her charm and down to earthness
Try the movie adult life skills -she’s wonderful in it x
And Attack the Block
It's so precious that she is such a huge star herself yet can still be starstruck by others. 🥰
Music tastes are personal and no one has a right to criticise about what any person enjoys.
well until you mentioned it.. no one said a word of hate.
@@alexbramley6346 there is a general hate/dislike thing about Coldplay, you only have to look online. I don't get it.
@@mistermatix8241 one can not have point without counterpoint. But once you remove the need to have a point it is just easier.
ever thought 'Why do I need to have a point?' best known as 'not my monkeys, not my circus' well that is my favorite.
those that 'hate' any band.. who cares? they make music, not economic policy.
those that go mad over it.. 'not my monkeys, not my circus'
Don't get me wrong, chris is an amazing guy and really charitable but let's not forget that Will Jonny and Guy are also just amazing and love to help people
Jodie has the ability to make me cry whenever she feels an emotion
she is so adorable!😍 literally the way she is with coldplay that is me with HER!❤️
So awesome! I love Coldplay and they put on incredible live concerts!
She actually does sound amazing for a non singer - never seen this before she gets a tick from me bless her
Just when I thought I couldn't love Jodie Whittaker more... this happens.
Damn !!! when the drum and guitar plays ....... that's the power of music !!
She has a lovely voice and heart .
Its class when she looks at the camera for a second, you can see what it means to her .
exactly. That glance speaks volumes
You can’t JUST THROW THAT RIFF IN THERE and not expect feelings
I can’t... verbalize. 💗)
When Will and Jonny came in and I was crying right along with her...
She has such a lovely voice~
Yellow really is *that* song 💛
Jodie is so pure of heart and spirit. Everything an actor, well any decent person, should aspire to be
😂That was awesome. Two genuine people surprising another genuine person, with genuine respect for each other. I cried, but it was lovely and for a great cause. I love Coldplay. Imagine how she would have been if Chris had turned up as well OMG.Can't wait for their new album 😚
Over 20 Years Old..... Still is a Beautiful Song! Jodie I tip my Hat to you! 🙏
For me it's the little nervous look to the camera before coming in for the second verse. Melts my heart every time.
I love this song. Jodie has done a lovely job and I live how we can still hear her Yorkshire accent. Beautiful
The guitar sounds like a choir singing.
It sounds magical and emotional.
Jodie's love & emotional reasons for recording this song make it so much better than the original - for me. Thanks Jodie - beautiful! ❤
So cool! When the band joins in, it is beyond amazing. Thanks for this. 😎
Oh my gosh, Coldplay---your songs warm my heart. I think your songs are TIMELESS. Any generation would love it. To me you're classics!
