I Have bought the HDR- AS50. and I have solved the sound problem, there is a foam in the divecase that covers the microphones, it is not for the impermeability, it is made to avoid the camera movement inside the case, but if you cut a part in one of the places where the microphones goes, it still doesn't move, but now you hear when you film with the case, and of course it is still impermeable. I did it and it really works
Thanks for these reviews man! I'm sure you would get more views and subs if you made shorter videos, but that is precisely the reason why some of us come to your channel. I love seeing extensive reviews!
+Cheap Chinese Pieces Agreed, just so much to cover. Feel like I miss a lot. That's why I added the summary section in the quick links. Even at 10, 20, or 30 mins there is always someone who wishes I'd taken a little longer to cover what they wanted to know. It's a tough call but shorter and quicker is something I'm exploring.
+Milton S. Kendall (M. Stuart) I think the AS200 provided a firmware update for zooming sometime ago. The LVR3 can hook up to other Sony cameras with limited functions but can actually unlock more functions then the LVR2-1 offered.
Great detailed review. The AS50 package with remote and tripod is not even released in Australia yet. So I got the AS200. Had the AS50 kit been available in AU I would have got it. The flat lens underwater case, standard tripod mount threads, and new LRV3 remote finally address the past frustrations (fails).
thanks for great review, you do one of the BEST action cam review on youtube

Was on MP4 mode and the footage we captured here looked grainy on my 1080p laptop screen... switched it to the other mode for microSDXC, we'll see if it improves the image quality... (maybe poor lighting was part of the issue, we filmed indoors).
I have a hdr as50 for 6 years now. Better then a gopro. I just found out about this app. Now i can make some very nice montages. I prefer this more then a gopro
At 12:20 and 12:30 you mention "natural light." I think you meant to say "artificial light" or "additional light." The camera needs extra lighting when shooting indoors...naturally occurring light from lamps, etc., is not enough to give a good image.
This camera takes great videos! I use SideSync with my laptop and android to screen share. I then use OBS studio to go Facebook live. It captures the Playmemories window in game mode. This solves the problem of it only connecting to Ustream. Also can use it as a webcam like this...
great video; very useful information. One question: as the cam is no longer splashwater-proof without the housing… did you film your snowboarding without or with the underwater housing? I´m asking because there was actually relatively good sound of the shredding on the slopes. Thanx!
Thanks for the video.I have the same action cam together with new x3000r and i m really happy with both. Regarding the info you shared about SD cards, i have 32gb Lexar HC II micro SD card and i select the XAVC S mode without any problem, no any error appeared and have recorded some video with no issues. Maybe its only for HC I cards or its about the speed of the card because my HC II card quite fast (150MB/s). The only issue i had with XAVC S mode was I had to search the video file i have recored in the SD card because it was saved in different folder than MP4 format videos.
I'm m not sure the wind noise reduction comparison was tested right. It was off while the camera was facing against the wind and it was on while it was facing away from your path. It has frontal microphone holes after all and facing it against the wind, i think it exaggerated the noise with the function turned off.
You worked very hard to make this video and give us all these precious informations , i am very sure about that. Also you speak very nice. Thanks very much for your time and hard work you did it perfect for me. I don't know nothing from photo and video, but the things you say in the video you seem to have a good level of knowlege. I saw your video because i want to buy a good budget camera as much as is possible to make simple rc videos, not professionaly. I just want to make some simple rc videos but with good quality and upload them in youtube for the rc fun and nothing else and you help me a lot. So now i am forced ( with the good way i mean) to subscribe to your chanell and follow you and thumps up you.
Does wind reduction actually work? In your test you held it in front of you when using wind reduction and held it behind you when not using wind reduction. So your body was blocking the wind in the wind reduction test.
Hey MHC, I am trying to decide between the AS200V and AS50, any chance you can put up a side by side of those two cameras? Also do some more underwater comparisons as I will be using it underwater. I would greatly appreciate this as it will help me make a more informed choice on purchasing my first action camera. Thank you and love what you do bro.
+tebb23 ! Finished filming it this week. I'll be out of town but look for it early next week. Lots of good shots and some pool stuff. Couldn't get to the ocean though.
Thanks Mark, another great review. You really covered a lot for your initial look. I still have a question on the angles in degrees. I think I heard you mention that the Narrow is 120 degrees. Not sure about the Wide, though, which was 170 degrees in the previous models. But I thought I heard you say that is not quite as ultra wide, so assume it is less than 170 degrees??
+Walter Klatt It's still considered 170 when set at wide but I'm having trouble find the exact MM lens. They are very close though. I normally pull it from the spec sheet but if you search "Focal Length" on the 3 links below, you'll see what I am talking about. AS50 Specs: www.sony.com/electronics/actioncam/hdr-as50r/specifications AS200 Specs: www.sony.com/electronics/actioncam/hdr-as200v-body-kit/specifications AZ1 Specs: www.sony.com/electronics/actioncam/hdr-az1-kit/specifications
+MarkHawkCam Yeah, a little confusing when they mix inches and mm's, but it does appear that the AS50 is not as wide as the others. That probably explains the slightly less lens distortion at the Wide angle setting with the AS50. I do like that Zoom feature, though. Hopefully, it also works with my LVR2V (that came with my AZ1). Glad you to see finally appreciate the use of the LVR. I love mine, and use it all the time. Especially good with mtn biking and skiing (when cam is on top of helmet), and of course in the airplane.
I don't know about this camera. I bought it thinking that would be so much better than my GoPro hero session and i'm just not satisfied about it. I'm not sure if I have a defect or not. I had an original HC card and the footage looked so grainy and bad. Then, I bought the correct micro sd card (Sony XC XAVC S supported) thinking that would fix the issue and the footage just didn't really seem to be improved by that much. The footage looked blurry on my computer but somewhat better on my phone. I love and hate it, I just wish the footage was crystal clear you know what im saying
nice review again Mark...did you film with the camera in the protected housing while boarding? ....and do you think losing the splashproof camerahousing is a problem with snowboarding? in other words....do you have to film everything now in the protected housing? or did you that also with the AZ1 & AS200? i am asking this because i will have to make a choise between the AS200, AZ1 & the new AS50...as they are about the same pricerange...I am going to use it mainly for skiing & snowboarding.
+Jammasamma I didn't use the case minus the underwater section. I do find the lack of water proof housing an issue. For snowboarding it depends a lot on the rider. It's not an issue until you let it lay in the snow by mistake or take a bad fall and it gets wet. With the last 2 cameras AS200, and X1000 this was a really great feature. Simple added protection.
+MarkHawkCam Thanks Mark...so long story short... if you can stay up on your board, take the AS50 and if not... ...well, i think its going to be the AS200 for me.... ;-)
Wish this camera was splash proof without case. The x3000 is splashproof but it overheats outside of the case. I just sent two x3000's back because of overheating issues (causing it to shut down). The AS50 is almost perfect.
+Ben Morris Yes it will work the X1000V and it should be able to control up to 5 cameras similar to the last one. Not 100% sure though, haven't tested it with multiple cameras at the same time but at start up it will show you which cameras it detects the wifi from.
+Corey Harmon thanks for the answer. but do you know if the improvement in the water, just the flat case? because it is only that, very soon we will have flat case for AS200 too.
Got my one today and was very disappointed at the sound when it is in the case - virtually none! Just lots of hiss from the mics I guess at full level trying to pick up some noise. Review also does not mention 60 metre rating is only for 30 minutes and how to use the manual white balance mode which seems to require navigating three pages of options to set it. Front recording LED is also obscured by the case front :)
+IM35461 Noticed the same thing with the audio in the case after this video. We brought it up in our follow up side by sides. ua-cam.com/video/z67ydnq-Now/v-deo.htmlm8s
+NicGaming It's using both. It connects through Wifi still. It's similar to the GoPro remote. It sends a signal to the camera through Bluetooth to wake it up but the live feed displayed is wifi. Basically it's using bluetooth for commands and wifi for display, I was checking it through the remote throughout the test.
MarkHawkCam I see, thank you for the detailed reply. I have to admit, that all the information I encountered before its release were not nearly as informative about how it exactly works, as your reply.
mark... can you find a link to the full operating manual for this hdr-as50 cam? i can only find start up guide and help guide. i've been all over Sony sites and cannot get the full operating manual. thanks
Very well done video. I'm looking for a simple device to film my live radio show, would you recommend this... perhaps even for live streaming. Thank you
perfect! in terms of video quality the Sony HDR-AS200 looks a little sharper but I think the newer features on the as50 might be more practical for what I want to do. The as200 is splash proof so running without housing is a + for recording sound. Ah the dilemma lol (I currently use a go pro hero 2 i stole from my brother) so I think anything at this point is an upgrade lol.
Nice Review! So correct me if i'm wrong, the HDR-AS50R is just with the live remote and the HDR-AS50 is the same action came but didnt comes with live remote?
Thanks for the review, really good. I bought an AS50 which I am pleased with. I bought an XC card to use in XAVC S mode but when I view it on my lap top it is very notchy. Could this be my computer or am I doing something wrong.
+MarkHawkCam movies at a resolution of 2560x1080 gaining in popularity. HDR-AS50 components should allow the record in 2560x1080 30FPS. Xiaomi Yi can record in 2304×1296 pixel at 30fps !
How would you compare the narrow field of view for Image Stabilization on this model compared with the Sony FDR X-1000V ? Does one camera have a greater field of view ? I know it's a technical question which may be hard to give an on the spot answer for. But I was just wondering if you have noticed much difference ? Great video, Best Wishes, David
Great channel Mark. Look at your stuff weekly! Question.... Want to upgrade my Sony as15. Thinking of the as50, as200 or GoPro Silver 4. Also want to upgrade my Panasonic TM90 camcorder, considering the Panasonic HC-V770, HC-X920 or the Sony CX-900. Comments appreciated. Rick
+barbershop22 AS50 or AS200 are both solid choices to me. I also use my Hero4 Silver a lot but GoPro will be releasing the Hero5 sometime in early summer. So if you can wait a little longer, might be worth it. In terms of higher end cameras, I'm maybe not the best source. I personally use DSLR's for higher end video like the Canon 5D Mark III or the Panasonic G4. Sony also has some good DSLR cameras for low light but I cant recall the name. Check out this channel for higher end recommendations: ua-cam.com/channels/uw8B6Uv0cMWtV5vbNpeH_A.html
Loved your video man. The most detailed comparison + review video! Have subscribed to your channel for future awesomeness! Are you planning to do a comparison video between HDR-AS200V and HDR-AS50? The decision is very tough but 200V is simply gorgeous!
+MarkHawkCam Yo mark. I ordered my AS200V today :) The AS50 has new features but am sure a little tinkering and firmware flash on AS200 can make it quiet competitive. The fact that AS200 is nature proof to some extent, without the casing, was a BIG decision maker for me.
Hi Mark, good review as always. Do you know if the LVR3 will be available on its own, or just with AS50? It would be convenient for my as200v when mounted to gimbal. thanks!
+MarkHawkCam I actually went ahead and ordered a smartwatch 3 off of eBay, which has the same functions and more through android wear apps for more than half the price.. hope it works out!
Thanks for the full review. Looking to buy a Sony action cam before March 8 and the AZ1, AS200v and AS50 are all at similar prices. I really don't know which to choose. Looking forward to the more in depth comparison video
only thing is that was pointed out to me is you can not see what you are trying to take a picture or video through like a GoPro. So you can not aim it.
Amazing reveiwMark, I stumbled upon this and I think you made want to buy it. I enjoy action cameras I have the Contour +2 and I love it its simple yet versatile. this video has sold me on the AS50 and I was curious about the referral links, How do they work exactly? Do I click the link then purchase the camera and you get some credit for the transaction or how does it work? Thank you very much for the video.
+Alec Schroyer Pretty much. As long as you use that link and don't switch over to another referral think it works out fine. It's not a huge commission but when 30-40 people do so it helps take the sting out of the next camera we pick up for review. Let me know what you thought of it after you've had sometime with it. I really wish the Sony line would adopt the rotatable lens similar to the Contour line.
MarkHawkCam, fantastic review. I am looking to purchase this camera but still in debate on getting the remote or not. The remote is makes the purchase $200 more. I am wondering if you feel the camera is still very useful without it? Please let me know. thanks
Hello, excellent video I need a recommendation I am about to buy this action cam, my question is What memory card would you recommend me to be able to use my action cam to the maximum and not to have any suitable? (Since it is not included in the purchase) greetings and good vibes
Awesome job! I came to see the live streaming part. Ustream wants $99 a month to live stream. Have you found a workaround for that? Thank you in advance. Shu
Great Review Mark thanks! could you please give us the dimension of the rectangular lens of the housing? and how does it compare to the GoPro 3 and 4 rectangular lens housing? The idea would be to check if we could fit one of the gopro adaptor for 52/55/58mm red diving filter or even ND filters.
Do you have an opinion on how well does RM-LVR3 work with AS200V? Right now AS50 and AS200V have the same price, and I'm thinking of buying one of them now as my first action camera and the RM-LVR3 remote later (AS50R package or RM-LVR3 aren't available yet here in Finland). Suppose that RM-LVR3 will become available as a separate purchase a little later on? According to the RM-LVR3 Compatibility Chart "One touch recording" isn't available for AS200V. Does this mean just that RM-LVR3 can't power up AS200V and thus can't start recording with one press of a button? When you'll do AZ1 vs. AS50 vs. AS200V video the RM-LVR3 operation with AZ1 and AS200V would be interesting because the decent UI of the remote could solve a lot of issues with the crappy menu UI on the side of the older cameras. Thank you, Mark, for your reviews! I'm new to your videos and loving the work you do.
+Petri Hiissa I'll look into this a bit more over the week. I just connected the LVR3 to the AS200 and it works a lot like the AS50. lots of options to change. Way more control then the LVR1 and LVR2. Couldn't get the power stuff working but I'll explore some the options later in the week.
+Petri Hiissa Remote power on requires bluetooth which is a new feature on the AS50. That's why it doesn't work with the AS200 or any other previous model.
+MarkHawkCam Do you have any new AS50 videos coming soon? Today there's a good one day offer of AS200V in Finland ($163), it costs 25% less than AS50. Both cameras have their strong points so it's hard to decide.
+Petri Hiissa Yeah, started filming some new tests this weekend. Had to take sometime away from the channel to finish building some new raid upgrades to our editing PC (new territory for me). Unfortunately we've also been delayed by rain. Was hoping for some snow days or blue birds but just lots of rain. Check back next weekend. Might have some side by sides
Can you use the AS50 as a dashcam? Does it start recording when your car is turned on? Is it possible to charge and record at the same time? I would like it as a dash cam and action cam...
You briefly mentioned that it can stream video. That is a primary feature that I'm interested in. Do you know where can I find more information on that feature/function? I do race timing and ideally I'd like to find a camera that is impervious to the rain and dust that I can put at the finish line to record race finishers, but I have to be able to access the footage as it's steamed to my computer to verify order of finish. Any suggestions?
+OnRappel All the details on most aspects aren't as deep as I'd like. I'd check out this link. It's from a link within a link on Sony's site to get a lot of the details missing from their default specs list. www.sony.com/electronics/actioncam/hdr-as50r/specifications
Sort of. It can go under water but it's meant for surfing like conditions where it'll get submerged but not stay to long under water. You can maintain a wifi or bluetooth connection under water though but it'll reconnect as soon as both are above water.
I did it and it really works
oh thanks, i wanted to make a hole in the front of the waterproof housing :D
Thanks! made a video of it. with some tests and it works! think AS50 is even with AS200 now inside the case!
alberto lópez Can I somehow try to private message you? So you can send me a picture of how you did cut? thanks
Yeah, would you like to give my your email so I can send you the picture?
Hola Alberto, quiero comprar esta camara, puedes subir una foto y pasar el enlace para ver como se harian los cortes? Gracias
Thank you for the BEST review of this camera!
You have the most in depth, feature filled, review.
It sure helped me decide that I did want it! :D
You did great job Mark! This review really covered all my questions , keep up your work!
Great review! Thanks so much for including the information about the AS100/200 fiting into the AS50 dive case. Just saved me some coin!!!
+MarkHawkCam I havent seen any firmware update for my AS200v, do you know if there is one and where to find it?
+Flierman esupport.sony.com/swu/9897/US
+MarkHawkCam It is for HDR-AS100V , not for AS200. The functions it adds are already available in stock firmware that ships with the AS200V.
+DLcine blah, this link wasn't working last night. appears to be working now: www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/HDR-AS200V
+MarkHawkCam does this camera still have that ugly fish eye effect that the as1000v has .
Great detailed review. The AS50 package with remote and tripod is not even released in Australia yet. So I got the AS200. Had the AS50 kit been available in AU I would have got it. The flat lens underwater case, standard tripod mount threads, and new LRV3 remote finally address the past frustrations (fails).
it was looking good until I heard about no external mic support. hopefully there will be the option to hook up a mic via the USB port like with GoPro.
Thanks from Italy! Nice review
Loved this Review! Very in-depth. Im going to get this as its perfect for what i need, Thank you
Wanderfull review as usual!
We Sto arrivando! Waiting the FDR-X3000R now :)
Thank, nice work Mark appreciate what you do for the action cam comunity
thanks for great review, you do one of the BEST action cam review on youtube

I really loved your review. Thanks
Excellent review; thanks. Especially pleased you bothered to mention the non-US frame rates, many other reviewers don't :-)
thanks for the review
Great review, the only drawback is the missing microphone jack. This is a action camera so having that option is important.
I have just purchased it for aircraft cockpit video. Nice choice! Good quality!
THANKS Mark

I dont have an error with my hc format card.. bought the unit a year ago. But will buy xc in the future
this could have been perfect for me if they included a external mic Jack..
+JBG TRAVELS Was a bit shocked myself given the AS15 and AS30 both had it.
thanks so much, you showed me how to take the casing off without breaking it!
can u record while the battery is charging?
Yes

Is this camera still a good choice in 2018?
In the end I bought sony as300, found it new at $250 and thought it's a good deal. No feedback yet, just started using it.
I just bought a AS50 for 159€.
Andrei Iosip how's your as300 so far?
debating that right now this cam or AS200 same price!
Purchased it last month for cockpit video recording. Working excellent! Good quality.
so with this you can film and also take a photo at the same time?
Can we use this for online classes
hi sir can i know why your video are so sharp? mine is kinda blurry and can you also tell me what video software you used for this video .. thanks!!
did you find a fix? i can't get clear image on this. I record at 60fps 1080p but the quality is like a cheap cam...so bad!
does this camera have a night mode or something like that?
great video
great review, thanks. Do you have info on buoyancy of this camera with its underwater housing?

hello friend , I will buy one right now , which you recommend me buy the HDR- AS200 or HDR- AS50 ? If it were you, what camera would you choose? tks
+rAs Do you plan on shooting undewater? If so...go with the AS50. If

You do a great job. Thanks to you, I chose As200V "instead of another" "new" GoPro :)
Вот и Андропов нашелся)
Как считаете, стоит своих денег? Или же лучше познакомить и взять АS300?
@@bordellok AS300
You said you were "draining WIFI" during the battery test, but isn't the new remote using "Bluetooth" to save power compared to previous cams?
+NicGaming It's using both. It connects through Wifi still. It's similar to the GoPro remote. It sends a signal to the camera through Bluetooth to wake it up but the live feed displayed is wifi. Basically it's using bluetooth for commands and wifi for display, I was checking it through the remote throughout the test.
MarkHawkCam I see, thank you for the detailed reply. I have to admit, that all the information I encountered before its release were not nearly as informative about how it exactly works, as your reply.
No external mic features at all I assume?
+NewZona Rides Correct, no external mic support.
a huge oversight.
mark... can you find a link to the full operating manual for this hdr-as50 cam? i can only find start up guide and help guide. i've been all over Sony sites and cannot get the full operating manual. thanks
Dude SONY is F^&*ing Epic this is unbeleivable
Hi Markhawkcam ! Which is the material of flat lens ? Is it plastic or glass ?
+LucaApnea Glass I believe. Could be wrong but the sound/texture it has feels like glass.
Very well done video.
I'm looking for a simple device to film my live radio show, would you recommend this... perhaps even for live streaming. Thank you
Very nice review.
I have one question: can you charge it while recording? (like e.g. using it with a power bank)
You can provide external power to it while it's recording. Not sure it'll charge much if any at all but it'll keep the camera going.
1000v is a bomb and 200v is a good choice too
Hi mark, you make a very great review!
Question: If you have multiple cameras can you hook them up to the same watch.
+Michael Rowlandson Yes, there are a few ways. You can swap between them one by one and you can sync up to 5 at the same time.
perfect! in terms of video quality the Sony HDR-AS200 looks a little sharper but I think the newer features on the as50 might be more practical for what I want to do.
The as200 is splash proof so running without housing is a + for recording sound.
Ah the dilemma lol (I currently use a go pro hero 2 i stole from my brother) so I think anything at this point is an upgrade lol.
Thank you very much for your review now I do not have the slightest hesitation to buy Sony HDR-AS50R and Sony Shooting Grip.
Can we mirror actual image shots? If so, how can we do it? Thanks a lot in advance.
when you put underwater mode on can you have it record at 1080 with 60 FPS?
XxHeavensXAnglexX yes you can I have one
Nice Review!
So correct me if i'm wrong, the HDR-AS50R is just with the live remote and the HDR-AS50 is the same action came but didnt comes with live remote?
+arimi raldi correct
+arimi raldi correct
Here in sweden when it says whats in the box there is no live watch thingy?
There are two bundles. One with and one without.
Thanks for the review, really good. I bought an AS50 which I am pleased with. I bought an XC card to use in XAVC S mode but when I view it on my lap top it is very notchy. Could this be my computer or am I doing something wrong.
GoPro 3+black or Sony AS50 do the photos better?
sony
Hey! Great video! Quick question, can we use it while charging? Say, with an external battery to maximise recording time? Thanks!
There was no recording with 2560x1080 30FPS :(
Best review HDR-AS50 !!!
+wymyslone Confused. This camera maxes out at 1080p. Are you referring the photo resolution?
+MarkHawkCam
movies at a resolution of 2560x1080 gaining in popularity.
HDR-AS50 components should allow the record in 2560x1080 30FPS.
Xiaomi Yi can record in 2304×1296 pixel at 30fps !
Are you able to run a external mic through the multi port?
Not that I know of.
I want to knw abt audio mic quality
How does the low light performance compare to the other SACs?
+Mik Lovin Pretty much on par. Nothing to different. Differences are mainly a slight sharpness improvements (AZ1
+Aman Kejriwal Going to start filming it soon. Taking this week to get some life stuff in order.
+MarkHawkCam Yo mark. I ordered my AS200V today :)
The AS50 has new features but am sure a little tinkering and firmware flash on AS200 can make it quiet competitive. The fact that AS200 is nature proof to some extent, without the casing, was a BIG decision maker for me.
Are you reviewing the AS300v?
Hi Mark, good review as always. Do you know if the LVR3 will be available on its own, or just with AS50? It would be convenient for my as200v when mounted to gimbal. thanks!
+Arex P I hope so but I currently don't know if it will. I got to imagine they'd want to but I've been wrong on predicting Sony's moves in the past.
+MarkHawkCam I actually went ahead and ordered a smartwatch 3 off of eBay, which has the same functions and more through android wear apps for more than half the price.. hope it works out!
Great review! I just got this A50 also and have been testing out the time lapse mode.
Thanks for the full review. Looking to buy a Sony action cam before March 8 and the AZ1, AS200v and AS50 are all at similar prices. I really don't know which to choose. Looking forward to the more in depth comparison video
+Gerardo Capo Do you plan on shooting undewater? If so...go with the AS50. If underwater is not important to you, then I would pick the AS200v
How is this compared to the GoPro session?
Video coming soon.
only thing is that was pointed out to me is you can not see what you are trying to take a picture or video through like a GoPro. So you can not aim it.
Could you give me a trick on how to use this cam for live streams, like OBS? Thanks
Little typo in the title ;)
I posted and stickied it on /r/SonyActionCam
+NicMediaDesign Very sleepy... that was the place holder for a few things here last night.
hi.. is the new remote waterproof too? can it work underwater? thank you..
Awesome job! I came to see the live streaming part. Ustream wants $99 a month to live stream. Have you found a workaround for that? Thank you in advance. Shu
If I record a takeoff at 1080 60p 50M Narrow, will it be smooth and good quality or does 30p enough?
Is it can take pictures with wi-fi connection on smartphone app? or just video?
That's great Mark, looking forward to it!
Might have some side by sides
where did you find the tripod mount? I have been looking and can't find one anywhere
+Josh Ellis Sony VCT-STG1 Shooting Grip: tinyurl.com/hgdh8qs
(links normally in the more info section below the video.)
+MarkHawkCam cool thanks, I was watching on mobile and I forgot to expand the description
+Josh Ellis no worries, added that in there in case anyone else is wondering the same thing :)
Would you recommend this camera over Yi 4k for 1080p 60fps videos?
+OnRappel search sony action cam fpv in google, another way to get live video
+OnRappel Here is another Sony link about how to set up live streaming.

Is the remote waterproof too?
Sort of. It can go under water but it's meant for surfing like conditions where it'll get submerged but not stay to long under water. You can maintain a wifi or bluetooth connection under water though but it'll reconnect as soon as both are above water.
Which do you highly recommend Gopro hero 4 silver or the as50?
Can you please do a sony HDR-AS50 vs Sony AZ1 mini. I can't find a video of it anywhere and I can't decide what one to get. Thanks
+Ralph Realms We are working on it. We have some sections in this video that put them side by side.
