- Rig Rundown is all about sheds, boats and beers and getting together after work to have fun and go over awesome fit-outs on kick-ass fishing boats...but now with social distancing!! This isn't a show about on-water performance, it's more about the what, where and how when it comes to all the different electronics and chandlery you can fit to a boat to improve your fishing experience. In this episode we cover Hooked Up's own project boat, a Sportsman Masters 207 thats been fitted out as a cross-over vessel for lake, estuary, bay and light offshore work.

Great video, very sweet setup!
👍👍
fun fact, i actually cut the foam for the upholstery for that boat
Nice boat great run down 👍
Thanks for watching.
Best boat rundown ever and I’ve watched enough to know! Beats the hell out of what you see come out of the US. I learnt heaps and got some invaluable tips that can only come from experience. Thanks so much and keep up the good work. Quick question: Did you look at the Sea Fox Viper and if so, why did you go with Sportsman? Cheers
Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback. No I never looked at anything else. Once I saw the Masters 207 I was sold.
Hooked Up TV Thanks for getting back to me. The Viper is a great looking rig to be sure but has a smaller fuel tank by almost 50litres! So the Sportsman is still the best in class as best as I can tell. Love the channel.
@@petetyquin2872 Thanks mate, all the best!
Just watched your video. Awesome run down. I have the same boat. Do you have a video on the charging rundown? Very interesting to be able to charge start, house or trolling Batts with engine. TIA
Sorry mate, we don't have a specific rundown on that. You're boat will already be charging the house and start via the engine. It does it more efficiently with a BEP DVSR which is what I installed. As for the MinnKota you can install a separate 12-24v charger that will do it. If you're running a 36v Kota it doesn't work as well but there are other more expensive options you can go for.
Hey mate loving the rig rundown videos, and nice rig you have. I am interested in how you have set up the charging system for your minn kota, to receive charge from your motor (12V to 24V). Any details on the setup would be appreciated. I have a 6.7m Hooker series 2 pro fish centre console with a motorguide 105lb (36V). I have a Promariner 20A 36V charger onboard but its only for 240V plug in. My typical run is about 2 hours each way on a fine day, which would be great to get some 12V into the 36V bank. Even more so when I do the multi-day trips further north where a 240V outlet is several hours away!
Thanks for watching mate, your rig sounds cool, I like the Hookers. Yep, it's pretty much the same set up as what you have. It's a GSL 12-24 volt 20 amp. I guess it depends on your engine size and alternator output on how much charge you get and how its distributed. As I said, mine is rigged up to prioritise the house and crank battery and then the MinnKota batteries. On a 2 hour run, I think you'd be right for a few days as long as she's charged prior. I use mine as an anchor when bait fishing in strong current and I never have an issue and I don't do runs as big as you. Here's a link to the GSL i use: www.gsl.com.au/battery-chargers-12v-24v.html
I like the fitout who did it?
Nautek Marine.
@@HookedUpTV looks mint
Nice boat! Can it be used on rivers and lakes?
Yeah, do that quite often. It has a very shallow draft.
Awesome boat, do u snapper fish from it (bait)?
Thanks mate. No I haven't yet, just lures. But I've been baitfishing for whiting and gars this winter just with the MinnKota and its been great. So will maybe do a few bait sessions this season.
@@HookedUpTV Sounds great
Hey, great run down. I am interested in buying the same make and model and can not find one to look at. Based on location would you be willing to let me look over your boat to see it is the right boat for me. PM me if you are able to help me out. Cheers
Hi mate, we just sold it to make way for a new Sportsman. The 207 is such an awesome boat. I'm pretty sure Marina Bayside in Sydney still have one in stock. You can also Cam from Sportsman to talk more about it, he's great- 0413 119 051
@@HookedUpTV thanks, I have all that info from Cam. What model are you buying and why the change?
@@theangryfisherman571 moving into a Reef 19. We change boats every few years to help promote a new model and I want something thats set up better for the biatfishing the bays and jigging and trolling offshore. The 207 could do it but was better for lure fishing in estuaries and lakes. Was sad to see the 207 go, loved that boat.
@@HookedUpTV is there any chance of talking to you on the phone? I think you have a good insight into exactly what I need to know
How far offshore do you go in that rig ?
Just the odd bash out to Tassie!
