Thanks for all the kind words everyone...you folks are beyond gracious. A few of you commented that I should or should have mentioned the shop name. There was no need. The fella who owned the bike told far more people than I could have. My responsibility is to the fella that is handing me his hard earned money. I don't really care about what other folks do. I also dont like speaking ill of others. Most often, they tell on themselves or their work shows it. Besides...I don't feel the need to downplay others for my own benefit. I don't have to. I would prefer my work speak for itself. I guess the moral of the story is...don't dismiss people when they think they have an issue. "That's Normal" is a phrase I hate when regarding mechanical things and owners with a problem. It literally took me 5 mins to remove the cam cover. The other place could have done that in the parking lot...if anything, to put the owners mind at ease. 10 mins of double checking would have prevented SO MUCH drama, aches, and paints....but anyway...no one is perfect. Mistakes, accidents, and mis-communication can happen. I'd say it comes down to intent and then willingness to resolve issues. At times, apologies are necessary and you just have to make things right. Be fair. Be reasonable. Be compassionate. Be kind. Meet in the middle.
As for stories to come...I think I will resurrect my "Tales From a Parts Store Counterman" series I wrote in the past and deliver it on UA-cam. Some are funny, a couple are sad, and a few still inspire me to this day. One in particular, haunts me...I get chills now just thinking about it. I hope you guys will enjoy them on top of the other tech stuff in the works. All the best everyone! I sincerely appreciate all of you.

using logic and deduction Baxter's Garage must be the third closest shop to this guy and therefore the shop that carried out the work the second closest to Baxter's, the only question is, in which direction?.

It's not all about ft/lbs and hundred thousands of an inch, wanderlust parts or memorial builds. Sometimes the story means as much as the bike, especially in a memorial build or behind a no reveal policy. Keep up the stories behind the reasons. You're teaching the next ones why and showing them how to be of the caliber of character that you strive to maintain.
Thank you, for all of those pieces mentioned, and for that caliber of character.
    Oh, and welcome to Tennessee.

Sorry to hear you were verbally abused, it does happen more than it should. It could have been rectified very easy. As we all know now, it wasn't
All he had to do is be honest about the mistake and THANK YOU for bringing it to his attention.
My little story and I will tell you who said it.
My grandmother told my Dad and my Dad told me, "If you always tell the truth, you won't have to remember as much."
