Hi Mark, The Ampersand, or &. Was actually once part of the alphabet as the last letter. When reciting the alphabet after z, it was "and per se" (meaning on its own) "and" and that's where the word comes from 👍
Not seen the video yet but smiling at the title. This beautiful, challenging, complex yet hauntingly wondrous city can be a bastard at times. Trick is to emerge the otherside then listen to 'Waterloo Sunset'. My personal reset.
I've been watching cabbie vids for a couple of yrs now (yours is quite good, but I think Tom's the best), and this is the first one I've seen one mentioning protests. Been wondering for a while how it affects our wonderful cabbies, so thank you for that. It's expensive for me to travel into London, so I only attend the big, important protests. But I will be going to the big demo this Saturday 30 November (Park Lane to Whitehall; then another one following on in Trafalgar Sq). Sorry for the inconvenience, blame the usual bastards who are so keen on using your taxes and mine to fund a genocide. Yes, it's important to exercise: in my 20s it was squash, from my early-30s long-distance cycling, also marathons from my early-50s. Now that I'm an old man, my main exercise is walking. I turned down statins when offered them by my GP. Most demos start at 12 noon, so things should be pretty clear before 10am, quite probably before 11am.
The most important thing is to work around the demos, they are always going to happen. There are so many now that no one actually takes any notice. One day this year there 4 in what day! I’m on a small statin now not because I need to me but it was a preventative option! Thanks for watching! You sound like you look after your self
@@Markstaxidiaries You'll certainly notice it when a nuclear war kicks off (unless you're lucky enough to be directly underneath the first one to go off - you won't feel a thing). If the bastards running things in Washington and London continue as they are, disaster is inevitable. And everybody just goes on sleepwalking into disaster, not noticing a f***ing thing. Unbelievable. Have you noticed the same bastards have been working for decades, bit-by-little-bit, to destroy the NHS? Looks like they're finally going to get their way thanks to Starmer&Co. And nobody seems to care. Unbelievable. Have you noticed that they're trying to replace doctors with "Physician Associates" (only 2 yrs medical training)? They've already destroyed 90% of NHS dentistry. No money for the NHS, but they can find tens of billions to genocide (eventually) 6 or 7 million people in Palestine, and to provoke a totally unnecessary war in Ukraine. On a personal level, I've suffered from prostate problems for a long time (BPH - too much testosterone, basically - fortunately not cancer) with the result that I went into urinary retention and had to wear a catheter - this prevents you doing any serious exercise, so I started putting on weight. Then the catheters started falling out (they're not supposed to do that). When that happens, you've got about 6hrs to get to A&E to have the catheter replaced, otherwise it's a medical emergency. During the day you can get there by train+walk, but they usually fall out late evening/night, and the only way is by taxi (about £70-£80 at night). I prefer not to call an ambulance, as I don't want to burden the NHS, and being an evil capitalist bastard, I can easily afford a taxi. Eventually I had an operation ("HoLEP") to fix it, but I had to wait a long time for it because of COVID & because the bastards are relentlessly reducing NHS funding. One consequence of the op is that I no longer produce any semen, but I can still have sex and get orgasms as normal. All those taxi trips meant I got quite interested in how the taxi trade works. The taxi drivers here seem to prefer Passats (I don't like them), then Mercedes (the one I like the best) and all the rest. Some Toyota hybrids (almost as good as Mercs), but no EVs - I suppose there might be some now, but not when I was going to the hospital all the time. Haven't noticed any sitting in the ranks. Must be hard to use EVs if you're the sort of driver who prefers the lucrative night-time trade, difficult to get cheap charging, I guess. I'm on Wikipedia as User:NSH001 if you want more info. My recommendation is to stop reading or watching the so-called "mainstream" news since they're all propaganda outlets, especially the TV news. Start with Consortium News, and the sources they quote, if you want to know what's really going on.
