The beginning of how the bad guys kept looking at the signal perfectly expresses how terrifying The Batman can be!!
That and them staring into the shadows and deciding to run was fantastic. Matt Reeves really understands the essence of the character 👌
I love when the "good guy" is seen as crazy/scary by the villains and bad guys, it's hilarious. The way the penguin said THIS GUY'S CRAZY
but people at beginning weren't scared of him
@@Dertlecup I love this trope, especially when the protagonist has their own boss music.
@@Dertlecup I like how all the cops were like “ who’s this weirdo in the bat suit” even tho he’s a better detective than all of them 😭🤣
His entrance will always give me chills!! Love this movie.
Literally, _I am The Night..._
Always interesting that at this point he isn't even trying to be stealthy. He *wants* people to know he's coming 💀
@@pablolacalle6098 Which is why the "shadows" comment is a little incongruous but badass none-the-less. I'd actually rather that line been used later on when he uses more stealth in his theatricality though.
@@pablolacalle6098 this Batman was rageful, he didn't care about others or about himself (I even saw a comment arguing he was basically suicidal, walking into gun fire with not fucks given while knowing he could get caught in the chin), he only cared about _vengeance_ . About making the bad guys fear, and then beating the living shit out of them, not for others but for his own satisfaction.
@@RigoOXx Eh I don't think Gordon would have worked with him/had any reason to work with him had that been entirely true. He wasn't helping solve cases because of his rage. Obviously he was taking out his rage on criminals more so for vengeance than to help people but he wasn't entirely driven by rage or vengeance.
I had the same reaction as Chris when that riddler goon said “I’m Vengeance” lol
Why is that
@@hashshashiin.forsī Because it's the true moral of the story that a lot of people missed. The people of Gotham don't know Batman has a moral code, or ambitions, or a plan. They just know he beats up people because he can. That's the lesson they learned from him: might makes right. It's also why Riddler thought they were working together, and why at the end of the movie, Batman realizes he needs to become something more: hope instead of vengeance.
@@Frostbite08 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Same, it's such a good moment showing that Batman needs to be more than just fear and vengeance, but a symbol of hope for Gotham and its people.
@@Frostbite08 For me, this movie showed Batman go from being a vigilante to being a hero.
Bludhaven is very much in the comics. It is where the first Robin(Dick Grayson) went after leaving Batman and changing his name to Nightwing.
its also marginally worse than Gotham.
Very true. Nightwing himself has stated it's the honest cops that have to stay hidden. The corruption is so much more in the open there. And everything/everyone that Gotham throws out ends up there. It's like Gotham's dumpster.
Also referenced in the Lego Batman Movie.
@@gato23 It basically has the same issues as Gotham but without the cool big-city vibes
@@gato23 i think Bludhaven is rated as the top worst city in the world to live in with Gotham as a runner up in dc lore
This is by far the best Batman film imo. The writing is so thoughtful of all the characters, the cinematography is gorgeous and the score is chef’s kiss.
Definitely agree ‼️🦇
The best Batman film was made in 1966.
I agree. The Joker carried The Dark Knight. If it wasn't for Heath Ledger many more people would say this is the best Batman movie.
Batman (1989) will also hold a special place in my heart, but this one though…💜💜💜💜. It gave me all the comic vibes all the other Batman movies were missing.
This movie is honestly pretty trash, especially compared to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Writing is fine but the story utterly lacks. Dano is amazing but Zoe Kravitz can’t act to save her life.
I love so much of the symbolism and cleverness of this movie. Batman opens by saying he is the shadows, but ends the movie by being a literal torch bearer leading others into light after realizing he has to be about hope to. And the bombing of the dams happened on November 5th makes Riddler a modern day Guy Fawkes trying to start a revolution by blowing up parliament. A lot of care went into making this movie.
Apart from the obvious Year One inspiration this film also draws from the brilliant Batman comic "The Long Halloween" and Riddler's plan to flood Gotham with the sea wall bombing is loosely reminiscent of what Nygma does in Batman Zero Year. Catwoman's final line of "you're spoken for" is almost verbatim how Alfred closes off that same comic. Matt Reeves did his homework 🔥🔥
also the flooding and chaos makes me think that the next movie might bring in a bit of No Man's Land. Which is where the best Batgirl was introduced. Wouldn't it be great if Reeves switched things up, and made Cassandra the first of the Batkids?
And Earth One from Geoff John’s
Helps that director Matt Reeves is actually a student to Jeph Loeb who wrote The Long Halloween!
I have gone through and compiled a list of the comics this movie has drawn from, and it’s over 60 comics long. Matt Reeves is the GOAT.
@@Patrick-jd1ku It's more Zero Year, which is very similar to No Man's Land in terms of the city being turned into a lawless state, except for it being very explicitly a Riddler story and being early in Batman's career
I really forgot how stress inducing this movie was lowkey lol
I actually loved it and I'm dark and was cheering for the Riddler😂
@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 cringe
I *still cry from that hospital scene and the flare scene, it's too emotional!* Seriously excited to see where they take this, hope to see a compassionate circus acrobat child in the future.
Me too. I wasn't expecting this film to be so emotional.
Yea the flare scene is so beautiful. The other scene that make me emotional is at the end when he’s helping that girl on the stretcher and she reaches for his arm.
Joker’s Deleted Scene is worth a reaction video as well, since it shows Batman going to him for insight into the mind of a criminal psychopath.
just like hannibal lector in silence of the lambs
That scene is bad and glad it was cut, unlike that last interaction between riddler and joker that should've also been cut.
I hope the joker is better the next films.
Yeah
@@maudelhoyo4019 Imagine being this wrong
@@maudelhoyo4019 imagine not knowing how strong joker is at getting into peoples mind, and when they show it you call it “bad” you don’t deserve this movie.
Batman’s monologue about how he instills fear and a little violence, and then the Riddler basically saying how he was inspired to do the same by exposing gotham is good
F the internet noise on Catwoman! Chris described her “thing” perfectly. People see whatever the hell they want to see, not what things are. They captured Catwoman’s “thing” very well.
She is definitely the best Catwoman on film imo.
They don't like her cause she's black, simple. Plus she was black in 60s show and is dark skinned in some comics too.
@@Zack_410 current comics canon is that she's Cuban through her mother IIRC, and weirdos got mad about that too
This is next level cinematography. It’s unreal.
Greg Fraiser is such a genius. Man has an eye for world-building.
@@ProQuo360 In my mind, he's already in the cinematography Hall of Fame. His filmography isn't even that big and the number of notable credits he already has is insane: Zero Dark Thirty, Rogue One, Lion, both Dune movies, The Batman, The Mandalorian, etc.
@@AlasdairGRYeah. He’s about to take over Roger Deakins spot
What I love the most about this film is that this Batman is not even at his peak, yet. He takes a few punches and isn’t exactly landing on his feet. Also: We’re going to see him make upgrades to the suit, Batcave, Batmobile, gadgets, etc.
Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne is exactly what he needs to be, at this time. Bruce doesn’t see any upside to what being “Bruce Wayne” can do to fight crime & corruption. But the scene with the new mayor where she tries to get him to be a bit more involved in philanthropy will make for a good segway into seeing Bruce becoming the billionaire-philanthropist. And Pattinson can be suave when the role calls for it.
I love the fact that Batman and Bruce Wayne are essentially the same character in this film. It shows that Bruce is still a troubled young adult haunted by his past and hasn't yet gotten to the stage where he's able to cultivate the Playboy Billionaire Philanthropist persona. I think his realisation at the end of the film that he can't be Vengeances is the catalyst for him to separate Bruce and Batman.
Alfred literally feeds my man fresh berries... like a fuckin' Bat lmaoo. So good.
Legit, Pattinson is my fav live action Batman now. Loved this movie.
"Oh he has a squirrel costume" and "He just ate all of his shit" are my two favourite Marketa quotes now.
What I wouldn't give to see Battinson meet The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.
"Rob everybody", I loved the final message, chris 😂😂😂 pleeease keep watching batman WITH MARKETA 🙏🏻😂
The director himself has said the Joker scene--which will be more extensive in the DVD release, because he cut a lot--is NOT meant to set us up for the next film. In fact, the next film will NOT feature the Joker. It was meant more for fan service since he doesn't use a name or moniker, just mentions clowns and then has The Laugh.
Thank god, I'm so happy we get some Batman stuff before they throw the inevitable joker in the mix. There are a million enemies to explore.
I don't know if it was even "setting up the next film" so much as it was demonstrating that, like with the layers upon layers of ancient corruption in the city's government, the pain and dysfunction caused by that abuse was hardly expressed in the Riddler alone. Gotham's taken a step forward, but it's a long, long way yet to the sunlit uplands, and there is much to be accounted for.
One way or another, the bill always comes due.
I don't mind if he's kept as a prisoner in Arkham. He's Batman's biggest foe and has been done in many interpretations. Maybe in this version batman caught him for whatever reason that's doesn't get revealed and he visits him to try to understand him and that's their entire relationship
I'm never gonna stop loving reactions from this movie it's so top tier. Probably my favorite Batman movie period. I love the slow build and then when it got going it got GOING.
One interesting thing I noticed is that whenever we're about to witness one of Riddler's murders, you hear a classical rendition of Ave Maria: prior to Mayor Mitchell's death with the actual score, and then prior to Coulson showing up at the funeral with the boy's choir (the fact there's no use of Ave Maria before or during the televised video of Commissioner Savage indicates he's already dead). Matt Reeves actually tricked all of us into thinking Alfred might die not just by playing with the timing of the scene, but especially by playing a classical choral piece that isn't, but _sounds like,_ Ave Maria.
That's some great attention to detail
What makes these guys GOOD is that they include every INCH as much movie audio as they can to help us, the fans engage with it. Too many places knock out the movie audio almost completely for editing ease. But WITHOUT it somethings lost you ask me.
I actually don't mind the length of the movie, it was perfect for this film. I was so engrossed that I practically forgot all about the time, I just wanted more and more! Can't wait for the sequel!
Same, I only noticed in some places where they purposely paced it slowly. It wasn't out of place, but felt unique with how every other movie is paced nowadays. I wouldn't have minded a 5 hour movie 🤣.
For me it wasn't the lenght as such, it was that it had a whole bunch of stuff after the first end scene. I thought "ok so this is the ending" and then "ok no, we're doing more stuff ... and it's not about anything?" and that process repeated several times.
idk, this one just hits a little different. probably is my favorite. Also, watching it in a dark room makes those scenes so much better
If Michael Keaton’s Batman movies are on the table, I’m all in. Also glad Chris was focused on the most important part of Clooney’s Batman.
I love how much Bruce NEEDED Alfred, Gordon, and Selina. He needs them to keep him in check.
Alfred - Hope & Faith
Gordon - Loyalty & Trust
Selina - Love & Emotion
These three kind of give a balance of these elements to who Bruce is.
You've got to understand. This is Batman in his 2nd year.
He's just starting out.
I love how all the “early-batman” stories I’ve seen keep with the whole thing of Alfred convincing Bruce to keep up the “Billionaire playboy” facade to draw attention away from his Batman activities
I think the big difference between this movie and previous Batman movies is the film genre. This was very much the superhero equivalent of a Detective Noir film. Whereas the previous Batman movies were definitely more action film oriented with some light mystery elements. I'm still undecided as to whether or not the Dark Knight is the better film or not. At the very least it's a pretty close race.
On a side note - Michael Giacchino did a fantastic job with the score. I like Hans Zimmer certainly, but I feel like the musical score in this did much more heavy lifting as far as setting the mood, and helping to enhance the tension of certain scenes.
Im currently going with The Dark Knight is a better movie, but The Batman is a better Batman movie, if that makes sense
@@zakm5530 the dark knight is more entertaining, but the Batman is more layered
The "holy rusted metal batman" line was a reference to the old Adam West Batman tv series, where Robin had "Holy *insert relevant to the situation thing here* Batman!" As a catchphrase.
I grew up with that old Batman series, so a more fun focused, silly Batman is fine by me. (The movie with Jim Carrey as the Riddler is thusly also my favorite movie so far, not "best", specifically, but favorite.)
One small thing I noticed was Batman referring to criminals collectively as "the element" (criminal element), something he did most notably in the Year One comic. I just liked the references to Year One, Zero Year and Long Halloween.
This is one of the few movies where the more times I watch it, the more I like it.
This is the Batman movie I've always wanted. It is perfect for me. I am so glad you guys enjoyed it as much as I have.
This movie was an absolute masterpiece. The entire cast killed it. My second favorite Batman movie right behind the Dark Knight. Can't wait for the next one!
7:50 Amen, Chris! Amen!
Yes, please, continue this Batman series with Rana and Marketta. This is only going to get more awesome with each movie.
The intro to the Batmobile wasn't just scary, it was terrifying.
A great example of HOW cinematic this was: Erik Voss of New Rockstars points out that in the first establishing shot of the nightclub, YOU CAN SEE RIDDLER (or someone) WATCHING THE CLUB FROM THAT UPPER APARTMENT WINDOW. It's just such a beautiful wide shot of two buildings' exteriors you don't know yet so the director can get away with it because nobody is going to be looking there for anything.
Michael Giacchino who composed for LOST did this movie as well!!! He really did go off on this score!
This quickly became my favorite Batman movie. It's so dark and gritty. Plus Batman does actual detective work like he should. They really nailed this.
In the sequel, now that Batman learned that he needs to represent hope and inspire good people, we'll probably see his Bruce Wayne persona develop. He finally has a reason to be Bruce Wayne
19:16 I can't get enough of that engine powering up sound it sounded so eerie then turned into a straight beast, I know im not the only one I NEED THAT CAR
I absolutely love Batman’s monologue in the beginning and end of the movie and how his ideals/looks on vengeance change after he sees the effect he has on the city going from vengeance to justice 🤧
You know the part about Martha being insane was in the comics. It's part of the reason she became the Joker in the Flashpoint timeline. But one interesting theory is that Martha got pregnant earlier in life and had a child that she gave up for adoption, that grew up to become the Joker. Which would make the Joker and Batman brothers.
35:50 this part deserved a bit more of a reaction, damn that was badass
the use of the LED screen tech (similar to the volume) they used for all of the skyline/exterior shots and some of the car chase results in some beautiful shots.
The repeat "Do you know who I am?" moments with the door guys was such a good callback.
One of my favorite Easter eggs in this movie is the Riddler's victory on November 5th (Remember, remember) and showing but not outright saying, "The only verdict is Vengeance!"
Chris: "That's my message to you, rob everybody" had me dying
Shout-out to that one thug that brought a double barrel shotgun to a sniping mission.
The composer is Michael Giacchino who also did the Spider-Man: No way home soundtrack... HE IS AMAZINGGGG!!!
He was also the composer for a tv show from awhile back. Suraj may have heard of it.
@@Batwing2011 Unfortunately not, but I'll make sure to look it up.
LOST BABYYYYYY!!!!!
Rana's "I thought he was gonna be a good lander" had me howling. I still cringe at that landing.
I think it was kind of funny and unexpected but more importantly showed Batman isn't perfect especially when he's still new. He also actually gets hit too.
loved her reaction
I think that's deliberate. It's supposed to be cringeworthy. I LOVE when a protagonist's imperfections are are on display; especially a superhero's.
Paul Dano is awesome. Still obsessed over his performance in Little Miss Sunshine.
Really adored the movie from a visual standpoint, Gotham City looked amazing very Arkham Knight the mix of old meets new Gotham that 1930s gothic look meets modern 2020 and hints of 1970s/1980s. Wish we saw a little bit more art deco designs but this is more of a nit-pick as the city felt like the 2nd most Gothic on screen live action Gotham City just behind Tim Burtons Gotham of course. This film being set in 2020s also had modern tech what you'd expected in the 2020s with those massive Monitors on the side of buildings adding so much to the overall look of the city, modern version of classic 1930s billboards.
Both Tim Burtons and more so The Animated Series had this very timeless 1930s look from the fashion to the cars and the architecture but it also had modern tech (for the 90s) as the series was set in the 1990s, Gotham just had this really cool hybrid of old and new. The Batman film doesn't go as much into that timeless look but you can see little elements of Gotham past something I really enjoyed.
This was where The Dark Knight lacked as much as I love the film's story it's Gotham City was really just Chicago. Batman Begins was alright by far Nolan's best looking Gotham City with the Narrows and that cool Art deco train system adding a lot to the city but the Batman 2022 showed that you can have both a grounded setting but also feature a unique looking city not going as far as the Burton movies which look amazing but also not going too far into the grounded featuring a boring city with no personality like featured in The Dark Knight.
I also love the classic 1950s style diner where Riddler was captured just felt so much like the opening of Arkham Knight and it's Gotham in general which drew from every depiction of Gotham from the Neon Lights of Joel Schumacher Gotham to the more retro 1930s artistic from the Burton movies and of course the modern day artistic featured in the Nolan movies. This film nailed the Gothic look while also keeping it more grounded.
Wish we got a little bit more retro vibes maybe have some Blimps overhead (actually could've came in handy when the city flooded you know with transport and supplies) along with some retro looking posters and adverts, adore the location where Bruce talked to Falcone that looked very Tim Burton/Arkham series. I enjoyed the city more than the The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises which really lacked that Gothic artistic and felt more like Chicago than Gotham but were still great movies, music was also amazing very much inspired by Shirley Walker who was the composer for the Batman Animated Series creating some of the best Batman music to date.
Wasn't a big fan of this rendition of Bruce Wayne felt movies like Mask of the Phantasm (Highly recommend watching it) did a way better job at dealing with the conflict between a younger Bruce and Batman but I can see this version developing overtime which is something I can't wait to see in the sequels.
This film drew heavily from the Batman Earth-One issues in one key area. Martha Wayne being an Arkham instead of a Kane pulled right from Batman Earth-One. In almost all renditions Martha is a Kane just like Bruce's cousin Kate Kane who is of course Bat woman. Maybe Kate still exists in this universe but as an Arkham but who knows. Alfred also trained Bruce in both Earth-One and this film with the Earth-One Alfred being a Royal Marine. Since Frank Millers Year One comic Bruce has spent his early years exploring the world coming back to Gotham like we see in Batman Begins which is where he learnt to fight.
A Sequel focused around Mister Freeze inspired by his appearance in the Batman Animated Series would be amazing, an interesting villain but also a fun setting go more for a winter theme with blue overtones instead of Red maybe add more colour instead of the film being dark 24/7. Glad you enjoy the film and cannot wait for any future Batman movies/Shows you react to. Highly recommend Mask of the Phantasm along with the DCAU starting with the amazing Batman Animated Series from the 1990s the best version of the character.
Best live action Batman, the vibe is so true to the comic. I can't wait for the next one.
Ikr!!! When i first watched the movie i was amazed by how it resonates the sane vibe as comics and the animated series
This is one of the best edited reactions I've seen. Love that you loved this brilliant film.😊
Robert is the perfect actor to play a messy Batman/Bruce Wayne.
I've seen this three times now, and I love it more each time. I also did not get the people calling it "woke" because of Catwoman. This is a crowd that will call everything woke or a diversity hire any time they cast a person who's not white in a film. It's ridiculous and says more about the moron complaining than it does the film. What a great film. My only complaint now is that I can't see it again on a big screen in Dolby sound because that was awesome, especially the sound when the batmobile first roars ( or screams) into life. So good.
The whole "these white men had it coming" speech from Selina was a bit forced
She said it one thing and people wanna get angry about it lol. What she said is true.
@@milesmcstylez She said that's all people care about which Riddler said too but he didn't do it outright.
When she says stupid shit like "white priviliged assholes" then yeah its woke. Also the mayor chick is obnoxious.
I never really understood why everyone never liked how the movie built up the characters thats the reason it started out slow, it built up Bruce, Selena and all the relationships Batman had to me this movie was perfect i honestly never wanted the the movie to end
When their taking about George Clooney as Batman the line holy rusted metal Batman is from Batman Forever when Val Kilmer played Batman and Tommy Lee jones played two face and Jim Carrey played the riddler
Fear is Batman's primary tool and they nail that to the bone in this movie.
Hell yea! Glad to see you guys reacting to this! Great reaction video!
I hope ya'll watch everything everywhere all at once. one of the best movies ever made. such a great unique experience
Michael Giacchino did the composing for this films he’s also done some other big ones there’s, Ratatouille, Up, The Incredibles, Planet apes, MCU Spider-Man films, Jurassic World, Star Treak, Coco, Mission Impossible , Inside out, Speed Racer, JOJO rabbit, Cars 2, both Doctor strange films, the one man band short, Star Wars TFA, Zootopia. Some of his upcoming ones are Thor love and thunder and Lightyear
I hope you guys watch the Adam West Batman. It’s not only a great film but you also really get to appreciate Batman’s flexibility as a character, especially when compared to “The Batman.” Also more of the Joel Schumacher in-jokes will land if you’ve seen what they’re referencing.
I love this movie and seeing the detective side of Batman
So, Rana, the ost is created by Giacchino, same composer as Lost
"He just ate all of his shit" lmao, idk but this got me good
Since Rana asked: The soundtrack was made by Michael Giacchino, who also made the soundtrack for Lost!
I think this is the 1st movie that really gets the city of Gotham so well.
I've made this comment a couple of times but what puts this over Nolan's trilogy already in my book is that it is what Nolan's biggest fanboys actually thought we were getting with his trilogy.
For starters, I love that they fully commit to the realism. Dont get me wrong I am **NOT** one of the edgelords who think a batman movie **HAS** to be realistic to be good. Burton's first 2 movies are both classic and they fully embrace the fantastical and comic book-y side of the character. But Nolan's films, especially in hindsight, tried to have its cake and eat it too. You can't beat me over the head with how realistic you think it is while also telling me with a straight face that Batman drives a fkn tank at NASCAR speeds AND flies a UFO that does not obey the law of physics AND uses a means of privacy invasion that would give even the most Orwellian dictators and governments the wildest of wet dreams, all while lazily and vaguely sweeping it under the "haha iTs juSt FuTuRisTiC mIlItArY tEcH bRo LoL". Those aspects of the film really bother me when I rewatch them. Either comitt to the realism factor, or just embrace the comic book fantastical cheesiness. Otherwise it feels like you're either insulting my intelligence or trying to have your cake and eat it too.
Secondly, tho the joker in TDK is iconic and while that film more than the other two is dark in tone at times, this movie takes it to a whole different level, and it even ties back into the realism. This film is dark BECAUSE the antagonist is both extremely intelligent to the degree of cracking massive cover-ups and corruption but is also both mentally ill and powerless/influental-less to change it on by any means BUT homicidal violence in his mind and probably even somewhat in practice too, and I love that that actually parallels batmans take on it, which I'll talk about in my next point. Where as the joker in TDK is just kinda violent to be violent. Yes the joker is the more memorable villain of the two but in a weird way I almost feel like this riddler is what Nolan wanted the joker to be or who joker/Heath fans believed the joker to be.
Thirdly, as Chris pointed out, I love that this tangibly showed that this Batman, for as good as his intentions are, is kinda actually mentally disturbed and traumatized and fucked up in his own way, instead of just having villains point it out while the actual portrayal we get is....pretty normal in comparison. Burton I feel like tried to do this and did a somewhat decent job in 89, atleast to the point of showing that Bruce was still traumatized and grieving his parents' murder decades after the fact, but I don't think he took it as far as he could've.
Matt Reeves understood the assignment, this is what happens when you give directors who are actually geeks for both the source material and the adaptations that came before it the keys to comic book movies. I hope studios for BOTH DC and Marvel take note of this above all else. Reeves is probably the type of guy who has actually read Batman comics and graphic novels in his own time for his own enjoyment, and has probably seen damn near every animated movie as well, while also just being a general movie nerd on top of it all.
This movie was literally just The Long Halloween, Hush, and Se7en all woven beautifully together in one amazing movie. I cannot fucking wait to see what comes next.
I love how the internal monologue of Batman sounds so much like Rorschach from Watchmen.
The composer for this movie is Michael Giacchino. He also did the MCU Spider-Man scores too!
36:14 such good storytelling and it speaks volumes for the batman mythos
Imagine if Batman take super solider serum 😂 he will wreak havoc
"Is batman just voyeuring on families?" Well...yes? Just not in that scene
This is the best version of riddler
This is the best Batman movie. There is no discussion.
Dark Knight is still king
I dont think its the best, the screenplay is a bit weak, still very good tho
im more of a Batman (1989) myself
Agreed
Dark knight is better
Love that it points out that beating up random people only really makes batman feel better, it doesn't fix the cause of the crime, poverty/corruption. Next movie Batman needs to protect the honest parts of the institutions untill they can operate like they are meant to. Go after the big guys that have too much power for the law to go after directly. I like the idea that riddler thought it was likely that bruce was batman, but didn't want it to be true. That one of the reasons to go after bruce was to confirm it one way or the other.
That batmobile sound always gives me chills
15:44 in bro’s defense he 58 seconds to live, we can ask that question later
What this generation doesn't understand is this was the ORIGINAL Batman, the DETECTIVE COMICS investigation true version of Batman. This is before the spoon fed stories that people have been raised with giving audiences the entire story up front. This makes you have to actually watch the movie to figure things out. THIS is story telling. This is BATMAN. LOVE THIS MOVIE
dddddaaaaaammmmnnn !!!! my guy got the roaster goin and old girl on the far side is feelin the burn lmao
Dark Knight was an incredible crime thriller and a much better Joker movie than Joker. But this is a way better Batman movie.
He actually doesn’t kill. We actually see him solve a crime. Gotham actually feels like a shithole.
Honestly the first 5 mins is the best scene in the entire movie 😭
Dude, that sound design for the entrance of the batmobile...it was like a fucking Kaiju entering the fray.
30:11 it’s a year two batman he’s still learning how to be the detective that’s the point of this story and is realizing he has be more than just fear for the villains but also a hero to the city
The joker actually had another scene mid way through the movie which was deleted so it wouldn’t outshine the riddler you can find on UA-cam, also the director mentioned that it’s the joker but not technically the joker yet
@44:57 That was Batman Forever with Val Kilmer as Batman, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face and Jim Carey as The Riddler.
31:39 🎶"doesn't this feel a little too familiar?"🎶 Yes it does. And in more than one instance.
I am liking, sharing, and commenting on this video 1 time. I hope this contributes to future Batman reactions 😭😭😂
That green ring on the saucer is a nice catch i never noticed that!
I love that it's a detective movie at the heart of it. That it's Batman is a sidenote. Also perfect they started with a Year 2 Batman: a vigilante that's already established in this world, not another origin story.
29:23 LOL that British accent
Mark 24:25. In recent memory, this movie was the first time that I ever heard of, "Arkham", as a surname. I'm not sure if the RPG supplements ever mentioned it in that context. Like, what is Martha Wayne's maiden name. I recall, Martha Kent, being given a maiden name. But what is the definition of, "Arkham", anyway? 🤔. To me it is a pun that I've used.
Guy: "Gotham?"
Dude: "Just Arkham."
Guy: "I'll take a pound of it."
Love that the final Riddler goon was the guy Bruce sees at the funeral.
Rana's reaction during the explosion in the car chase made me laugh so hard I disassociated for a minute.
Val was batman when Jim played riddler not George Clooney
I’m sorry I could never do these reactions cause my ass watching this shit the day it drops in theaters hahaha. More power to people who have the patience to wait, couldnt be me 🤣
Because I watched "Batman & Robin" as a kid, I also loved Clooney's Batman. So I'm right there with you RANA
