Went to rehab in palm springs with this dude, real genuine dude who actually cares about people, you might not see it in this video but if you sit down and have a real conversation with him hes been through alot and can teach you alot.
Obviously no one taught him about first impressions and how those can be deal breakers with a lot of people.

He was better than that!! He was a real fucking skater. He skated for himself. Jake Just happen to exploit the opportunity to skate with the best and figured out a way to get paid for it. The ultimate dream job. And then write about in the most epic way for those individual skaters & their absolutely unequivocally insane talents. Let’s see you bomb a freaky steep hill at 56 years old! Jake did more for skateboarding with a pen 🖊 Then you’ll ever do for the world of skateboard in your whole entire lifetime!! I had the privilege to skate in the same park with him once burnside skate park Portland Oregon. I thought he was more a vert skater then a street skater! But nevertheless Jake could fucking skate. & skate or die Jake Did!!

Say what you want about Phelps. He's held down skateboarding for decades. Love him or hate him, if you truly love skateboarding and the skateboarding community, you have to give him props. He's the realest dude out there. He is genuine and caring towards the people who deserve it.

honestly man, if the dude doesn't even skate much anymore he can still be badass as fuck and be 100% skateboarder. he feels the love for it, he expresses his love through a badass magazine that we all love, and he has been tight with some of the biggest skateboard legends ever. he might be a douchebag sometimes, but the dude has experienced life to the fullest and has seen some of the greatest moments in skateboard history, i would love to be in the position he's in.

I used to have a problem with this guy. After his death I suddenly realized that there's actually no one else like like him. His role in skateboarding has been massive and his absence will leave a huge hole in our culture. This truly is the end of an era and I fear for what comes next for skateboarding without Phelps running shit. There's no one who can fill his shoes. R.I.P Phelps. True Thrasher.
