    Nice A/C mounting system for the newer style compressors.
    On the block-hugger headers- had to weld build mine- ports in headers flange did not match the ports in the heads, so header gaskets blow out.
    Ground to match ports, used large woodworking belt sanding table to get flange flat.

      Thanks for the heads up, Dan. I will check them against the gaskets. I may be safer here, as this engine has 318 heads and smaller exhaust ports.

    This is one of the last things on my to do list on my 72 Demon refresh. All my cars have always had AC. But the Demon does not. After 50 years I want AC on it. This looks really good. Thanks for showing this. !!

    Wish they would make one to mount the compressor lower so it doesn't stick out and hide the top of the engine, like down by the power steering pump or under the alternator, they just don't look good in the middle of the engine on top but that's just. my opinion and we all know what they say about opinions, anyway it's looking like it will be very sturdy and functional

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  2 роки тому

      That’s true. I think I can fabricate some mounts for a lower compressor, but definitely for something of my own. This was too easy and smooth to pass up.

      I just did an install on my SB Mopar in a Ford Galaxie. I felt the same way. Fabbed up my own mounts and set it lower on the drivers side. Results were good but it was time consuming of course. My motor is tunnel rammed and aesthetics under hood are important to the car.

    Adding a Vintage Air to my 440, the 22" radiator had a center outlet which interfered with the compressor. Ended up finding another core support and 26 radiator with side outlet.

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  2 роки тому

      I appreciate that information. I’m probably going with an aluminum eBay radiator. I’ve had super great luck with them.

    Cool looks to work well, is there any reason they couldn't mount it at a lower point?and is that where the original compressor is mounted? looks like it's guna be a great build, all the best to you and your loved ones

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  2 роки тому +1

      I remember seeing the aftermarket kits of the past mounted very similarly. On the 87 dodge truck “red sled”, I had to actually add a 2” piece of flat metal to raise the compressor to clear the intake, but it was nearly the same place.

    Way does small block have two brackets for the Alternator and the big block only has one bracket for the kits ?
