Just found your channel, so glad I did. I'm 75 years old and new to water colour although I did try my hand at it many years ago and just couldn't get the hang of it so gave up. At my age now I don't get out so much and what with covid being around and winter on the way I've decided to give it another go. After watching this video my brain and imagination are so fired up with images I just can't wait to get started again. I've subscribed so can't wait for your next video. Thank you so much for putting some excitement back in my life. ❤
Oh my gosh! That's amazing! I'm so happy to hear that! That right there is the whole reason for this channel! Thank you so much for sharing that, and I'm so glad you are here! ❤️❤️❤️
This made my heart sing. Good for you to pick up watercolour again.
I’m very happy for you Irish! Art can bring joy and vitality to our lives. Let’s keep it up👍🖼️💖🎨🥳🍭🥰
Love this Ginger ❤Thank you 😊 so nice.
I found that i like the pea green ( bright one you have) with the purple on the pallette. But, i love the way colors in watercolor just do magic. Pure joy and fun 😁
I just love it. Don, 80 and I, 77 are beginners. You inspire us. Heard you say it might get cut up. Would love to see how that works.
Wish there was a way to attach a pic
@joanlowder1376 well thanks, Joan! It makes me happy to hear that! I do have a video where I show me cutting it up, I believe. I know I picked my favorite parts out of it and made small framed pieces, and also some little kindness cards 😊.
Thank you so much Ginger, I really really enjoyed watching you create this beautiful and unique background to get those two stunningly unique images for you to frame too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Thanks, Mags! You too 😊
Very COOL, I love 💕 this style of watercolor 😍.
My name is Ginger too 😅. I've never run into any one with that name before. 😊
Thx sooooooooo much for sharing this amazing creation ❤.
Ginger and Miss Gertie 🐕💕
Oh, that's so cool! I know...we are rare 😅!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed! Happy painting! ❤️
Love the one on the left. It’s a beauty and does look like a landscape.
Thank you so much! Thanks for watching ☺️
>This was so nice to watch in bed this Sunday morning. I just learned a tip I'll share with you. If you wet the back side of the paper before you tape it down, it doesn't buckle!
Edited to ask where you get the little squeeze bottles? I didn't see it in your list.
I'm glad you enjoyed, and thanks for that tip! I did get those bottles on Amazon amzn.to/40mab87
Hth! 😊
Thank you so much for a lovely demonstration, full of interesting information and I loved it, so going to give it a try.
Yayyy! Thank you for sharing that, and I hope you have lots of fun! 😊
Great exercise!
These are gorgeous. The picture on the right would be lovely if framed longwise. That is to say, framed as a thin portrait. The vertical view caught my eye right away. Thank you so much. These look so easy but take more skill than it seems!
Thank you so much, Angie! I appreciate it 😊
Love your process!
So glad you enjoyed! 😊
Ditto with the 75 yo lady. I am 82 and was an acrylic painter for several years. Watercolor makes more sense in a small area where I have to worrry about paint splatter etc. Love this.
Yayy! Hopefully this was helpful! That's why I enjoy using so many various media...they all have their perks, and it keeps me from getting bored 😉
This series is awesome and I'm loving it! At 76 and a newbie to the whole art world I need all the help I can get. I had bought that art nouveau set because I had never seen such lovely colors and didn't know how to pair what with what. I bought the regular big set of the Gansi Tambi also and I have two student grade paint sets. (I'm on my way LOL) So far I'm just playing trying to learn some tips, tricks and learning how to paint leaves and flowers...I like the loose style. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever think I'd care for abstract. Don't know what happened but sure am enjoying how to do watercolors in this manner. Thanks much for sharing and would love to see more and how to match up colors. The color cube is out the budget at the moment, but I know it would be helpful for me. Thanks much for sharing your wonderful work!
That sounds exactly like me when I first started, lol! It sounds like you're on the right track. I'll have more videos soon (moving right now, yuk). I recommend looking at nature for color palette inspiration....it's free and perfect!
Love it..
Thank you so much! TFW!
Very beautiful pieces❤
Thanks so much, Tammie! I'm so glad you are here!!!
Es un trabajo ! Precioso !❤
¡Muchas gracias!
What a lovely calming voice you have and it made this tutorial so lovely to watch. I am too scared to even try that - first timer!
What a sweet comment! Thank you so much. Do NOT be scared! You totally got this! And it totally doesn't matter if you like it or not...you can always cut it up and repurpose it! Let me know how it goes 😊.
@@Ginger_McElfresh_Art thank you so very much for replying to my comment and for the encouragement. I will show you when I have done it but you are not allowed to laugh - hahah stay well
I wouldn't laugh! Trust me, if you have seen some of my "creations", you would understand, lol! We all make things we wouldn't consider frame worthy. And I think the key is...just lower your expectations, then they are much easier to exceed! 😉
Love it👌❣️❣️❣️❣️
I'm so glad you enjoyed! I hope you have a great day making all the fun paintings 😊!
This turned out better than I expected,❤ it’s beautiful and a great idea.😊 thankyou for the inspiration it will bea fun expérience.😊
Yayy! I hope you have a blast 😊
Love the color palette and relaxed way of painting Ginger…looks really beautiful….will definitely give it a try…❤️
Thanks so much! I hope you have lots of fun 😁!!!
mene asiaan äläkä lässytä!!!
I love this tutorial. You make it look fun, creative and relaxing. I love the pencil lines. Gives lots of contrast to the abstract look. Never thought of using dewernt ink tense pencils. Will be trying this soon!! Thank You!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for such a nice comment 🥰!
Beautiful, thank you!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching in Belgium, Carmen!!!
Thanks
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
Enjoyed watching the whole process and loved the colors you choose! I think the right side was definitely a great beach scene! 😂
Do you mind sharing the bottles you purchased for the gold mica? So many of them get clogged and don't work the way they say they do so I'm hopeful you found the magic ones 😂.
I think I may have purchased them at Michael's, I'm not sure....but I found these on Amazon, which appear to be the same thing! Just use a needle or very fine wire to clean the tip out if you haven't used them in a long time and they clog 😉...and keep the lid on, lol! amzn.to/3y9ynhT
This is lovely! What is the water mister you're using?
That is the Tim Holtz Distress sprayer 😉...I like that it sprays fine mist or droplets. amzn.to/46qQYD8
Can you kindly tell me about the stencil you used? I love it! Thx
I believe it came from Temu.com....sorry I don't have a link for it 😔. TFW!
That brush/water holder looks awesome but I can’t find the link in your description. Do you remember where you found it?
I have the lovely art nouveau set as well. I have spent so much time watching artists use them I need to get them open and wet and get to playing with them. I love your style.
Thank you, Sherry! I think I got that from Temu,...it's hard to link those, they keep changing. YES! It is time for you to get those paints wet! Please come join our Facebook group 😉
This video popped up on my feed , ( I think it was a Kuratake hashtag? as I bought them). Although I have been painting with watercolours for over 40 years and I'm pretty good at it, I wanted to get back to my roots and how I learned to paint with them in the beginning, to paint loose and frivolous. I started to paint very tight as my career was in Engineering design so my painting became very tight as well, so I painted portraits for years, which satisfied that accuracy and tight phobia, however, now that I am retired, I want to get back to my roots and have been playing with a LOT of mixed media and learning to paint very loose and abstract. (which isn't easy) I liked watching this, you approach much the way I do and I'm looking forward to watching more of them!
What do you use to edit your videos before uploading? I just use zoom to video mine and then upload for my students, but my machine can't handle the size of some of these editing softwares...anyway, just thought to ask
That's awesome! I really resonate with the whole idea of being too tight and accurate! I too, found this difficult at first! I'm glad you found me...I love working this way, and have been teaching myself to enjoy the process and forget the perfectionism that grabbed me from the beginning 😉. I use Capcut to edit. You can get it for mobile or desktop and the free version has most anything you need! Thanks for the kind comment!
Whats is one of those lil Teamu stencils? Whaaaat is a T-mu stencil...where to buy?
@@Nancy-tr5fi There is an online store called Temu. It's a lot like Ali Express...basically a very cheap Chinese store. They are a little hit or miss 😉.
Hi there, can you please link where you get the mixing palette from ? Thankyou 🌻
Sure! Ceramic watercolor palette: amzn.to/3ZTuPKt
Thanks for watching! 😊
I love what you’re doing but can’t believe you scrub your paper with those nice round brushes. Why no flats for that?
Ty! It doesn't hurt them...or at least not that I've noticed. I feel as if I am "too careful" that holds me back, so to speak 😉. I think if we can just let go and not worry about the little things, then our imaginations can run wild! I hope that helps 😊
Nice work. Love the colors. Which gesso did you use?
Thank you! That was Liquitex. TFW!!!
🌹🌹🌹
Pipette where do you get them?
Here is an Amazon link, not sure where else to get them 😉 amzn.to/44mNaSg
