    I love how video games, this modern 'blight' on young peope has fuelled a new wave of passion for classical and neoclassical music. I would never have touched a piano if it weren't for Final Fantasy and would have not have joined the orchestra, which opened me up to so many composers that hugely influenced those responsible for my favourite game and movie soundtracks.

    Wonderful! You just married two major loves of my life! My dad's retired theatre organist and I grew up crawling around pipe organs (including the one he built in our basement...). FFX is one of my favorite games not only because of the story but the musical themes. I have the soundtrack on my iPod always. This was wonderful and I can't wait to share it with both my dad and my son (who loves the game as much as I do!). Thanks!

    Visiting this vid again after few years...

    I love the slow tempo of this because that combined with the clear, pure tone of the handbells gives it a melancholic, elegiac feeling. Actual tears in my eyes.

    This is absolutely amazing don't get me wrong, but the pace is too slow - for understandable reasons! Put the video to speed 1.5x and it sounds so much more like it should :)

    • @Ishnatal
      @Ishnatal 9 років тому +39

      Peter Leblanc 1.5x speed does match the original tempo. And while it does sound great at that speed, I think the slower tempo works with these instruments to bring a more ethereal tone to the entire piece. It really is a sad song when you think about it, and that's something we were trying to emphasize through this performance. It's super fun to play fast, though!

    • @raatomieli4204

    @internationalartists Ah awesome. So you can hold a few at the same time and angle them to make a chord. How interesting :) Thanks for answering my question, I had never seen this kind of thing before.

  • @KayraAlat
    @KayraAlat 14 років тому

    Do the bells only ring in one direction? So that you have to hold them at the right angle for them to ring? If not how do they hold more than one and not ring all of them at the same time. Also, awesome co-ordination

    I don't know if this was an attempt to drum up interest in your productions or not, but it's certainly had that effect. It's unfortunate that a lot of your other pieces here have so few views comparatively, but I can tell you that you'll certainly find a very appreciative audience if you continue to produce moving game inspired pieces like this one.
