    So frustrating - ours is 2 years old and does this. Our last LG was still working after 11 years. The new washer and dryers are junk!
    Thanks for the video! I’ll give it a shot.

    This video was very helpful for the teardown. After taking the entire thing apart I was able to fix it all with a small piece of tinfoil! The way the system works for the buttons is through a capacitive charge that is sensed from your finger by using little spring antennas that are on the main board. The issue seems to all be coming from the actual front panel glass. The glass is either too thick for the signal to pass through or there's a coating that rubs off over time. The fix is as simple as extending the spring antenna, they sell special foil that can be used to stick on the glass to amplify the signal but I just used a small piece of tinfoil under the glass where the power button is that the spring sits against (I put a tiny piece of tape on the edge off the foil to hold it on). The antenna actually sits on the glass slightly offset to the right of the power button image. So I just made sure the piece of tinfoil was large enough for the antenna to sit against it and also be behind the cover panel button image. I would say the piece was probably about the size of a quarter.

      @@onlineappliancetech you can also use some aluminum foil tape, but most people don't have it and it's a lot more expensive and not worth getting since you only need such a small amount.

      I had the same problem with my just over the 1 year warranty lg top loaded washer, same model displayed in this video. I was able to permanently fix by cutting a square piece of Nashua flexfix dryer vent tape ($6) and sticking it on the outside glass over the power button. Maybe 1.5 in by 1.5 in. This amplified the capacitive charge from my finger enough to return the power button back to normal function.

    My washer is 2 1/2 yrs old, model WT7305CW. Was having the same issues and for a while could unplug and plug back in and it worked... but then that stoped working. Took it apart and found out the problem was the front panel was not connecting to the control board. Put some aluminum foil on front panel, where the start button and pause button connected to the control board and it fixed the problem. Now it works perfectly!!! Cost $0. Hope this helps someone.

    Thanks to all who suggested the tin foil process. We had replaced the mother board and the start process remained intermittent. Installed Nashua tin tape and the machine is now fully operational. biggest problem was reengaging the master setting dial but figured it out. If your machine is fairly new would definitely suggest the foil play before replacing the board. If you do replace the board I would still install the foil tape to save another reassembly.

      What he did in this video. Is not the problem in most cases. Check the control right behind where you push. Use you phone to magnify the image. You will see if control panel is broken right where round membrane joints the square one. You can also tell you by pushing the button on the control board and and washer should turn on and off if the problem is control panel

    Hey I know I’m late to the party but I did the display board swap right? Ok well without the front cover on I can turn the washer on by touching the spring that is the power on the display board. (This will shock you so if you’re not versed in electrical theory please do not attempt.) however when I put the front cover with the power display button to safely do so, I get nothing. Please help.

      Never mind 😂 I found your foil video after. I figured it was something goofy like the circuit wasn’t completing since it worked when I touched the bare spring while being grounded. I’ll try that before bugging again.

    Had the touch panel replaced under warranty, then the machine started throwing water supply errors. Tech only replaced the facia and not the component board, had to have them come out again. Should have done the work myself as not entirely sure when went wrong with his work.

    • @wernerrosenow9427
      @wernerrosenow9427 Рік тому

      Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, water was turned all the way on. I verified flow through hoses and no issues found.
      Oddly enough, I did the LG reset process, unplug, hold power button and then start/pause button. The unit hasn’t thrown the water error issue since but the fabric softener tray will not flush out. Took the tray apart, ensured there was no sticky residue or blockage and still nothing. Seems like the water is not being directed to that portion of the tray during the rinse cycle.
      Heard LG was a great product so we thought, why not. Beginning to question our choice.

      Try the foil. It might be that the front cover has warp or such not and no longer makes contact with the spring. The foil will complete the circuit so your touching the button location will allow the capacitance change to be transmitted to the control board. I tried this today and it worked great.
