That began around the time of the Industrial Revolution when a lot of things were changing, this being one of them; ultimately along w/ higher skirts, lower necklines, women wearing make-up more commonly, etc. and according to Enoch, there was a certain group of imprisoned fallen angels who were set to be released right around that time in history, if you do the math.

I haven't watched this video, but I am very familiar
      with this matter.

I really love head covering on women, it's not some male dominant position, I think it shows women as different, to be respected and honoured, all of us are born of a woman and that is amazing.
I think in many ways I see it as being set apart, and modest an Holy which being set apart is.
It begs the question though of modesty in general, not only for women but men also need modesty.

Let me be honest, I want to start veiling I really do but that power and independence is something I am holding onto really hard. It's terrifying to imagine myself having less control over situations and being so calm about not having the control as this lady is. The way she speaks about her role and the order of the word of God where the man is the head and the woman is bride and rib seems really liberating but extremely terrifying. Please pray for me when you read this because I'm ready to do it but it is definitely scary.

Ladies it is hard and you will be ask if you are a Muslim this is a great opportunity to inform that not only Muslim do this but many other women around the world but I love now telling that it is the God of people who started it all. It is true that it is more then just covering your hair. This is also my choice of obedience that has grace it is hard to describe this feeling and is a total opposite to restriction or oppression bcuz it has been a choice. Pray about it God is not a God of confusion. Happy bless head covering journey sisters in Christ!

The was no Old Testament law stating that women should use a
fabric covering. All this can only make sense if the covering is the
      hair itself.
Does even nature itself not teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her as a covering.
      -NASB version
At least twice (probably 3 times) a woman's hair was not only visible to Jesus Himself, but it touched Him. Neither woman was rebuked. Since Jesus didn't care about fabric head coverings why should we?
“Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven-for she loved much.
      -excerpt Luke 7
Mary then took a pound of very expensive perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, the one who intended to betray Him, said, “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and the proceeds given to poor people?” Now he said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he kept the money box, he used to steal from what was put into it. Therefore Jesus said, “Leave her alone...

      * Where the problem usually begins… (I)
If we follow those who subscribe to the doctrine of women wearing veils then it can be argued that the most often cited verse in this teaching is 1st Corinth. 11:5, which states:
“But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.”
According to those who believe women ought to wear veils this verse implies that a woman’s uncovered head is someone who does not wear a veil, is wrong for failing to wear it and assumes that such a person already has long hair. Therefore, the conclusion is that it must be referring to an “additional” covering. Another conclusion is that if a woman ought to be covered only when praying and prophesying then it would seem as though it is something that can be taken on or off like a veil.
A typical question from those who are against hair being “the covering” is usually something like this: “If a woman ONLY needs to cover during prophecy or prayer, then how can a woman take off her hair and then put it back on?” The logical response to this is: Where did you read the word: "Only?" Such a person assumes the Bible refers to an “exclusive condition” instead of viewing it as simply two examples being given. IF YOU TRULY BELIEVE IN THIS “EXCLUSIVITY INTERPRETATION” then an UNVEILED woman should be fine if they speak in tongues, interpret tongues, heal the sick, cast out devils, etc., right? As long as the woman is NOT praying or prophesying, then she need not wear a veil, right? If your answer is NO, then you admit that there are likely more instances where it would not look right and do not truly believe that ONLY under praying or prophesying does a woman need to be covered; thereby making the argument that the covering is removable based on two conditions, moot.
So what can we say about this? Just that Paul is giving us a couple of examples of how doing something holy does not look right if she is uncovered, in other words not covered in hair. The question is: Is he really referring to the lack of a veil or the lack of hair meaning not having long hair? Also, please keep in mind that the word “veil” is not actually mentioned here, neither anything that IMPLICITLY states that the covering is something can be placed on or taken off.
Here’s something to consider: imagine a woman with long flowing hair praying and prophesying without a veil. Would the lack of a veil really equate to someone as if they were shaven? Why would anyone come to this conclusion? It would seem a bit odd that a woman with long hair who is not wearing a veil should somehow be equated to being shaved. This is most certainly an odd thought pattern if we accept the veil interpretation. But it does fit the narrative of those who understand the word “uncovered” to mean “not covered in long hair” or simply put, “short hair.” Looking at a woman with short hair one can easily say that she might as well be shaved. So be honest, doesn’t it make more sense that when they refer to an uncovered woman they are referring to a woman with short hair? Wouldn’t that be MORE closely relatable to being shaven than to someone who has long hair but not wearing a veil being equated to someone shaved? To put it in another way it is not a big leap to make the correlation between short hair to being shaven, unlike being asked to make a GIGANTIC LEAP OF LOGIC that an unveiled woman (even with long flowing hair) is somehow equal to being shaved. Think about it.
      * Is the Covering Long Hair or a Veil? ….. (II)
If we examine all the verses from verse 4 to 15 without bias we should at least conclude that the passages have something to do with the physical heads of both men and women. The question we should ask is: When they refer to “covered,” “cover,” “uncovered” and “covering” are they referring to hair that covers the head or some kind of veil? Some will even say both, but if we carefully examine verse 15 it would seem that we would be getting a clearer picture of what was being referred to in the earlier verses when it mentions the words, “covered,” “cover” and “uncovered."
“But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her FOR a covering."
If the covering is long hair then the words “covered” or “cover” which are synonymous to “covering,” should be understood as long hair as well. Then it makes sense when it says that it is shameful or dishonorable for a man to pray or prophesy with his head “covered” because they are referring to long hair. Now logically speaking wouldn’t being “uncovered” or “not covered” then mean short hair? Therefore, if to be covered refers to “long hair” then the opposite should be true, in that to be “uncovered” should be understood as having “short” hair. This is not complicated at all to understand it is basic logic.
      * You Should Naturally Know Right From Wrong by Just Looking…. (III)
If these verses do not move you yet then here’s one that should definitely blow your mind. Paul asks you to make a judgment call in verse 13 as if one should naturally see a problem because he asks you to:
"Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?"
If “covering” really meant a veil then one would have to explain why anyone would possibly come up with a judgment that a woman praying or prophesying WITHOUT A FABRIC VEIL ON THEIR HEAD WOULD LOGICALLY OR NATURALLY LOOK WRONG? Someone needs to explain this logically. Be honest, does looking at someone doing this naturally create a thought that a veil is missing? I have never seen or heard anyone say: "What a shame she is not wearing a veil on her head” after looking at a woman with long hair while praying or prophesying, that would be ludicrous. There is no NATURAL or NORMAL reasoning to make such a judgment. But if the word “uncovered” were to mean "short hair." then it would make logical sense. Because if I see a woman who has a manly haircut doing these holy things like we read in verse 5, then I can naturally judge that something doesn’t look right. Also, the very next verse continues this line of thinking that things should be obvious to understand by mere observation in nature.
"Doth not even NATURE itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him." 1st Corinthians 11:14
Note that verses 13 and 14 are two consecutive questions both of which asks you to NATURALLY ASSUME that there something wrong by SEEING a woman’s head to be uncovered (meaning having short hair) and a man having long hair (meaning being covered). I would like to also add that it is NOT jumping from a “veil” in 13 and then suddenly to “hair” in 14 like some would like to suggest, because you will note that verse 15 refers back again to the woman which FLAT OUT STATES the “covering” to mean “long hair.” Therefore there is NO EXCUSE to not understand the previous verses.
By this simple understanding we can then understand the part where it states that it is shameful or dishonoring for a man to pray or prophesy with his head covered, meaning covered in long hair, like in verses 4:

“Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.”
This “dishonoring” of the head fits perfectly with verse 14 where it mentions that it is “shameful“ for a man to have long hair, therefore the topic is the same throughout the verses in that the head covered in this verse refers to “long hair. ”
I should also add that these verses in NO WAY imply that the covering on the man can be placed on or taken off, like some like to argue. It’s SIMPLY SAYING that it is a dishonor if a man prays or prophesies in LONG HAIR. The same should be understood in verse 7:
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.”
Again, they are NOT implying something that can be put on or taken off but that the man should not cover his head (with long hair) and the reason because he is the image and glory of God. This same idea should be included in the verses that refer to women like in verse 6:
“For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.”
This verse is often misinterpreted like verse 5 when it’s simply mentioning in the same tone as the previous verse that if a woman has short hair then let her head be shaved BUT if it is a shame to be shaven let her be covered in long hair. It’s really not complicated once you understand what it means to be covered or uncovered. Everything else starts to make sense when you read the other verses knowing that they are referring to hair.
I can only imagine how lost one must be when they are stuck on one or two verses that to them seems questionable but not take into consideration all the other verses that point to the “covering” as long hair and “uncovered” to mean short hair. Therefore, given all this logic and proof, how can one conclude that they are referring to a hat, bonnet or veil?
Again, how can one have logical judgments or conclusions that by merely looking at a long-haired woman performing such holy acts without a veil that one would automatically assume that there is something off? It makes no logical sense. So before anyone gets riled up why not first try to EXPLAIN 1st Corinthians 11:13 because I suspect most people will simply ignore it. In short, therefore, the whole veil doctrine is wrong, it cannot be substantiated and should be rejected.

@@user-iz8np3vv4iif hair is a woman’s covering, then what about men? do men need to shave their hair when they pray so that they aren’t wearing a covering? (1 Corinthians 11:4,7)
If “covering” means “hair” then we should be able to replace each instance of “cover” with “hair” and it should still makes sense:
Every man praying or prophesying, having his head with hair, dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head without hair dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved. For if a woman is not with hair, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be with hair. For a man indeed ought not to wear hair on his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man is not from woman, but woman from man. Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
Except, doesn’t make sense. “Covering” in this passage is something other than hair, especially when it comes to comparing this “other” something to hair… you can’t compare something to itself that would be silly. You compare something to another thing to draw those intended comparisons, to actually make a point. Otherwise you’re talking in circles and there’s no point being made at all. “Yes you need to wear a coat because when you wear a coat you have a coat so wear a coat!” What? Yeah that’s not making a point for anything.

As with many things in this life that God commands us to do, there is a physical benefit along with the spiritual benefit to covering the hair. Wearing a covering protects the hair from debris and dirt, keeping it clean for longer. It also keeps the hair protected from the elements, which helps prevent breaking. Covering your head can help you grow a long, beautiful head of hair - one to be shared with your husband.
In history, women (specifically married women) would cover their heads partially or fully, and this persisted through hundreds of years and across many cultures. Even in the more modern Victorian era, women would wear hats to cover their heads as well as for fashion.
It is a very modern concept for women to not cover their hair in public, and it is no accident that the decline in popularity in covering the head coincided with the normalization of pants for women as well as women working outside the home. The world hates what God has created, and it tries to destroy what makes women beautiful in the eyes of God, instead insisting that a woman's body must be visible at all times for her to be bbeautiful.
I am pregnant right now, but once this baby is born I will be throwing out much of my wardrobe and replacing it with modest clothing, and I am considering wearing a head cover while in public as well. You are an inspiration to me. God bless you!

The covering is the hair itself. Reply if you want to
think about this matter before such a life-long commitment.
I have an essay (by another) that explains this. Thanks.
Also, please consider that God never put anything into the Law
of the Old Covenant requiring a physical head covering for women.
The priests HAD to wear a turban as part of their priestly garments
      however.

I respect my wife so much for wearing a covering, it was one of my favourite things about orthodoxy. We are new converts to orthodoxy. But when I became Pentecostal years ago through a treatment centre, before dinner they would tell, “hats!” To say grace and all the men would take off there hats. I just did it and didn’t know why. But when I read Corinthians 11 I was like oh that’s why! It’s in the bible. But right after talks about women covering. And it was my first time really feeling like. Wow I geuss we don’t do that anymore knowing that it was a cognitive decision of the modern Christian to not do it out of embarrassment of the faith or seeming “religious”. But the men are still expected to take off hats? And so orthodoxy is perfect for me. I always say, it is more biblical then reformers and more spiritual then Pentecostals. The beautiful true church of Christ.

May the Lord bless you, thanks for your testimony. I learned, many years ago when studying this out as my own wife began getting into the practice, that in Enoch it explains that there were a certain group of imprisoned fallen angels who were set to be released, to play some role in facilitating the end times so many generations later - if you do the math, it adds up to the approximate time of the Industrial Revolution; this is when countless things began to change quickly in Western culture and the headcovering also took a critical hit, gradually giving way to hats and then all but disappearing, decades ago in the 20th Century.

At first I was hesitant about everything that you said but then you put very coherently something that I've been realizing of late. You said that men learn to take care of others through taking upon themselves responsibilities, especially when it comes to your household. I'm dating a Muslim currently (we want to get married when we work out which country we will move to together) and I'm Orthodox Christian but only the past year have I started reconnecting with my faith. I'm really drawn to Islam too, I feel like Orthodox Christianity and Islam share a lot of qualities and I admit that I have been thinking about reverting for various reasons. I especially think that it's hard to find Orthodox Christians that practice the way you do. You seem kind and honest, calm but still thoughtful and searching. You aren't judging others on their practices, you just make it about you and your relationship to God. The only Christians I've met are the farthest one can be from that. I'm from Greece and I can read the texts in their original form so I will be trying that but if it doesn't "click" I think I will turn to Islam for guidance, as part of me believes it's the "continuation" of Orthodoxy. Just sharing my spiritual struggles (and I'm grateful to be having these kind of problems to think about rather than something sorrowful). Wish you and everyone here the best!

I understand. It is hard to find people willing to risk it all to follow their convictions..the pressure from family, friends, and society make it difficult to step into these roles. But the more people are willing to stand up no matter what people around them say the more it will help others do the same. So while you don't see others living the way you think a Christian should...sometimes we need to look within ourselves and ask, I don't see this around me...but am Iiving the way I should? We certainly wish to see those around us practicing their Christian faith unapologetically, but we also have to do that. God bless you.

Hello Sister- I am blessed to have come across your channel. I have felt the tugging of wearing a head covering for quite sometime. I struggle with vanity, consumerism, comparing myself to others and have not been modest in my life before Christ. I too am very independent. (A lot to do with my upbringing) I also am outspoken and easily angered. I felt God was and is asking me to learn submission and die to my old ways of thinking/living. But, I didn’t think I was up for the criticism because of my bullheaded tendencies. I am afraid I won’t be a good representative of Jesus. Without a head covering I blend in. I suppose this is one of many reasons I feel the tug to start wearing head coverings. Jesus is trying to show me and lead me and I need to listen. So thank you sister for showing me submission through your videos. Please pray I pick up and carry my cross daily. 🙏❤️

Sister, I'm happy you have found the truth! Glory to God in the highest. When I moved to Africa, God started to reveal to me the difference between how modern Christian are worshipping the God they don't know and don't understand. He started to tell me about the comparison between Islam and modern-day Christianity. When the devil reviewed himself to mohammed, he gave mohammed part truth and part lie. The part truth is in the attire, and the relationship and seriousness in how his followers should worship the God they call Allah. But lie to him that he and his followers can go directly to God without Yahusha. If Christians want to learn how the ancients Christian worship God, they should look at how the Muslims do it but not worship their God. Because Yahuah is a God who does not share his glory with anyone. The more God pulls me to himself, the more my hearth desire for a modest woman with headcovering. Yahusha gave his life so we could be different from the world, not like the world. Modern-day Christians are non different than the world. They are the world

Christians were wearing the headcovering before the Muslims did.. and before the Christians the Jewish did..and still do. Unfortunately for Christianity the custom has been lost among some, but it is still alive and well in orthodox churches and it is become revived again. Women and man are yearning for truth and going back to our roots and bringing back tradition which is a beautiful thing. It should never be discriminated against, but many are living for themselves and not for God so they can't understand it. They believe it's a sign of oppression when it isn't. But it doesn't matter what people think, our heart is what matters most.

      * Where the problem usually begins… (I)
If we follow those who subscribe to the doctrine of women wearing veils then it can be argued that the most often cited verse in this teaching is 1st Corinth.

9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
13 ¶ Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

Thank you for posting it all. You can now read in verse 5 and 6 that it is a shame for women to have her head shaved or cut short (shorn) and that it is also a shame to the women not to have her head covered ...the same shame that comes from having a shaved head or hair cut short is the same shame that comes when a woman does not cover her hair. The hair is also a covering. But it is not the only covering required....further more he says that if anyone is going to bother you about this custom of head covering..just agree with him that we aren't supposed to head cover and move on...basically saying don't argue about it, it's pointless....but he clearly states that the churches tradition is that the women is to have her head covered. God bless.

Most of these scriptures are talking about hair. One of the noticeable distinctions between Man and Woman is the hair. It’s not a material object that makes us different, it’s the natural God given distinction which is the hair. Does not nature itself teach us? Nature in the Greek is physis which is the natural production.

@@ChristInTheMiddleEast you just said "most" so not all was talking about hair. In verse 5 and 6 it is talking about a covering other than the hair that is just as important as the hair....for if she doesn't have that extra covering on than it is the same as if her head were shaved or cut short. The same shame would come to her, so clearly this is important. Both the hair as a covering plus the extra covering....both very important for exercising Gods order. It says it there as plain as day.

Show me where it says the covering is something other than the hair in this chapter. The comparison in verse 5 and 6 for a woman that prays or prophesies with her HEAD uncovered dishonors HER HEAD: a colon is used to expand on the rest of the verse and it doesn’t mention an extra covering. It expands more about the dishonor of her head as if she were shaven.

As a young woman who wants to be married, I find that I am skeptical of how gender roles are traditionally presented. It is a fact that God made husbands the head of the house and wives are helpmates, but I disagree with the black and white roles that are traditionally given to men and women. I think that men being the sole leaders of the family and the ones to make all the decisions is an oversimplified view of marriage. The way you present it, makes it seem as though marriages where both spouses work together to make decisions or the wife is allowed to make decisions are automatically dysfunctional. I do not think that it true. I do not think that the role of the husband allows for him to be stubborn and make decisions based on what he personally wants to do.
I hear a lot of women say that the problem in their relationship was the fact that they were not allowing their husband to lead. However, I think that the problem is that they were rude and domineering towards husbands. What you decided in your video is something common among other women with your complaint. You claimed that you would "bulldoze" your husband to get your way. To me, it seems like the problem was not stepping out of your role, because having that kind of behaviour is not the role of the husband either. Leaders are not supposed to be controlling and they are not supposed to use that role to get what they want.
I think it is wrong to expect that a women should just go with whatever her husband decides. Sometimes husbands are wrong, so I thought that being a helpmate would mean correcting him. I do not mean in a rude or childish way, but letting him know why you do not think it is a good decision. Also, I think that wives should be able to make decisions about their family and husbands should not be stubborn or dismissive.
Also, I appreciate that you acknowledged that you still use your leadership and assertive qualities. Oftentimes when people talk about the role of women is to be submissive, they make it seem like women should be submissive in all areas of life or that women who have traits that are considered to be masculine are out of God's order.
I think that it is understandable why people think that the traditional role of women is oppressive. Perhaps a better to use would be unfair. Being submissive implies that you do not have the freedom to lead your own life. Of course being in a relationship means that you agreeing to not live solely for yourself, so you are agreeing to give up some freedom. However, I do not think that it is to the extent where you are expected to follow along with whatever decision your husband makes. Also, if it is the social expectation that a woman should be shy and defer to their husbands, it can be viewed as oppressive because this is a role prescribed to women not something that she chose to do.
Overall, I hope to be a wife one day who is cooperative and not contentious. However, I do not hope to be submissive because I do not think that it would be right for me to allow my husband to makes decisions that I know are wrong. Also, I think that my husband should trust me to make decisions about things that I know a lot about or am passionate about.

    • @righteousrebellion90
      @righteousrebellion90  Рік тому +2

You greatly misunderstand me. This video is about head covering and not about marriage although they merge in this video. I would have said a lot more if the video was actually a about roles in the marriage. Allowing your husband to lead isn't you just going along with everything even if it's wrong. The man who is leading, his head is supposed to be Christ. And so you are supposed to be following a man who is following Christ which gives you the confidence and trust that you can follow him and that you want to follow him. But a man who loves you would want your opinion, I know my husband does. There is nothing wrong with being submissive, you can't be a Christian without being submissive, our whole purpose is union with God and if you love God the Bible says you will follow His commandments. God tells us to be submissive to our husbands, God is also practical, He doesn't want bad for you either. If your husband is actively doing something that is actually wrong that's a different thing then you allowing him to lead the family. And when you don't like the direction take it to prayer. Let God sort it out. We are supposed to put our trust in God...and if God tells us to be submissive to our husbands and allow them to lead we should trust that. Otherwise maybe it's worth evaluating ourselves as to why we have a problem with authority.

@@aliciad9879 There is room for compromises and cooperation, I think alot of marriage is that. But ultimately someone needs to make the final decision, which would be the man in a Christian marriage. But HOPEFULLY he's taking every important decision to God and his church father to help make good choices for the family. When my husband is about to make a big decision for us I will ask him if he's prayed about it or talked to our priest about it first, we also discusse it alot aswell....but asking him that is a good reminder to me and him that I am willing to be submissive but I'm hoping and praying that I'm being submissive to a man who's submissive to God. A Christian man is supposed to be willing to sacrifice his life for his wife, that means dying for her if necessary. So it's not domination, everyone is being submissive. You to him, him to God. He's not supposed to be a tyrant, if he is he isn't doing God's will, but if God allows a tyrant, then alot of prayer is necessary. There is a reason for it. Me and my husband were unequally yoked and still not 100% on the same page and i will tell you its the hardest thing ive ever had to do. But I trust God and am learning my way through the struggle and everytime I see progress it is so sweet and I have so much reason to praise God for the victories and makes all of it worth it. No he wasn't leaving. I didn't decide to change for him. I became a Christian and "changed" because of the state of the world, it led me to God...my change had nothing to do with my marriage or with me, it had to do with the world and the evil I was seeing. In fact he didn't like that I became a Christian and at first it made our relationship even worse, even though I was stepping into my role as a women and being more submissive things got way worse before they got better. Eventually it was so bad that I was the one who was about to leave him, but God encouraged me to stay and to keep trying and to pray for him...that is the Christian way. Glory to God our marriage naturally got better over time as I grew as a Christian...and now he to is a Christian, so its amazing. Neither of us were good in the marriage it wasn't just me. And I didn't beat him down, I would just in certain situations if I had my mind set on something I would want it that way, especially if i thought it was the right thing and Especially when it came our child. For example I didn't want to send my son to public school, he did. I didn't want to pump my children with vaccines he did...a lot of these things cause alot of fighting. I really had to step back and just call on God for prayer to make the right things happen in our family and trust that my husband would make the right choices for us. So I hope you learn not to assume something about someone's life before you actually know if what you are saying is true or not.

It's never a sin to obey God's word.
