I don't know if money got tight in the 2000s or Kerry had to put his name on a second product to keep his brand deal going, but this thing is hilarious, and a great addition to my collection.

I like that it has that splash of colour. One of the reasons I'm attracted to Orange amps is because they're colourful and so different from the obelisks that normally are sold.

Also --- as a Hanneman and Holt nut... I did not grasp their sound until I used a floating trem guitar. I know you probably know this... But I was always lacking the sorta boxy low end... Then I got a Floyd Rose axe and BLAMMO!!! I was in that dark pocket I can see and hear you know well.

How does the addition of the tremolo give you the low end?
My dad said the guitar community in the 80s and 90s always shit on Kerry King and said he has never played the same solo twice lmao. His Marshall 800 sounds amazing though, without a doubt!
He probably hasn't. I can't imagine he'd hit every not from a Slayer solo ever again
I grew up listening to slayer. South of heaven came out when I was a freshman in high school. Their farewell tour was probably the best concerts I’ve ever seen
It has that classic Raw Black / Death Metal sound, think Nunslaughter or early Gravewurm. Many demos and low-budget albums were recorded with guitar tones like this.
If I ever feel like starting a one-man Black Metal project I'll have the gear for it already
@@sixstringtv1 Ditto. Budget gear works wonders for that Low-fidelity aesthetic! Many small combo practice amps were also secret studio tools for the pros, for when that mix needs something a lil' extra blended in...
You know a cab sim is bad when the 6.5" speaker sounds better, lol.
Oh yeah, that was awful 😭 The amp itself, depending on settings, actually sounded decent in the room with a nice Strat tho
I think with better settings it would’ve sounded better I’ve owned a 2203kk and an mg before both were kinda unreliable

I’m with you on this for sure. Giving your kids a mg series amp is like saying i don’t support what you do and i hope you fail. Giving your kid a jcm 800 studio version or big boy amp is like saying i think you got this guitar thing and I’m here supporting you and i feel like you can make a go at it. Lol so skip the bullshit and get that kid a good amp!

I mean, I wasn't sure if I was gonna like guitar myself at first, so I asked for a cheap beginners guitar kit, but boy was I happy when I'd saved up enough for that KK2203 and a cab

A friend of mine had the MG10KK and swapped out the speaker for a Celestion - it actually sounded brilliant after that.

Some "attack of the bees" parts, but not bad for an amp with a 6" speaker. Also, the "FUZZ" part was quite good, I'd use that tone to record a song someday.
And I agree about MG series overall, not that good... best budget-friendly Marshall series is the Valvestate, I think. If i'm not tripping, even Meshuggah used one in a few moments.
I'm sure Meshuggah used the valvestate in their thrash metal era. In Flames/Death used it too. It's objectively shit but I personally love it. It's the good kind of shitty

I had the kk jcm800, couldn’t stand the thing. Just way to honky mids for me. It works ok with emgs, but i like other pickups. And it didn’t have a friggin effects loop. Its a one trick pony pretty much. My jvm is still kickin around tho.
I had mine modded a few years ago, has an FX loop now! 😎

I notice that when you play in your videos you seem to have magical flowy hair ala Steve Vai. When Vai plays live he also has a fan blowing up at his hair so it is also magically flowy.. lmao

I have one of those MG10s and it sounds awful, but honestly for as awful as it sounds it's still 100 times better than most other small practice amps.

first amp was a marshal mg one like that but it def wasnt the kerry king and jfc it was so muxh worse than this somehow. also paid 110ish usdollars for it somehow

I played on that amp when it was new and it's just plain awful.
I actually quite enjoy it. With the right settings it's more than enough for practice
It's of my opinion that since you seem quite capable of dialing in an absolutely disgusting metal tone.... If you are unable to make an amp sound good I will take your word for it that is absolute trash and judging from both the mic'd tone and cab out its 100% 🗑 I thinj the cannibal corpse "weeeeee" scrunch tone scream 😱 is both more entertaining and better sounding in comparison
