Unless you are the owner I wouldn't invest a dime in it. That's like number 1 rule when you are renting. And if you have made some deal with the landlord make sure it is in writing. No verbal or handshake deals. This is all just common sense.

Looks like it's time to revise on your carpentry/framing skills. Maybe a partition ceiling for that area between shops would help with the jank shaping, which can be done with some timber framing and then wall material finishing. This gives you the chance to add some lights and wiring to both ends.
Definitely want some sound-proofing insulation between the toilet and the other areas, so you can ring the taco bell without anyone else hearing your bowels ejecting themselves out of your bum.
As a little nitpick for me? Maybe make the door and the surrounding trim/skirting to the toilet a different material/color to the rest of the wall.

    • @datalorian

@datalorian to sh!t in insulated peace shouldn't be considered nit-picking.
The partition ceiling would also help with preventing the smell of waste going up and out. Just need a vent of some kind to get the smell outside.

honestly, that framing is basically bang-on. you only need 2 plates (header) and jack studs if there is any kind of load on the top. if it's just its own independent structure and you don't plan on putting stuff on top of it then you are framing fine how you are. Excited to see how this place looks in the near future!

Bro i gotta comment on the beginning with the milwaukee cut off wheel. I have always ran milwaukee stuff but the m18 stuff tends to do that and i can’t for the life of me figure out why. As an RV tech, they usually like to do it when I’ve finally got myself crammed into a 4x4 foot compartment and only have one hand to use lol. My Dewalt stuff has never done that. If I can make a suggestion about removing the red plastic tile in front of the sink. Wouldn’t it be safter to leave it there just in case you guys are washing up an accidentally get water on the floor then it wouldn’t be so slick?? Less work for you, still matches the floor in the bathroom area, and has some bit of traction vs a wet epoxied floor where water would blend right in. Just my 2 cents. Can’t wait to see what you do in the next video!

Awesome! New/bonus space is always fun. I would keep that mini garage door, that way if you do want to separate it for any reason like if you're doing dirty work that's generating lot of dust you can close it. Also what is the space behind the sink, if I'm visualizing it correctly there is a bit of space behind there between shop and new area extending all the way to the outside wall.
