- Опубліковано 2 лют 2024
- Spend a casual day in the greenhouse with me starting onions seeds and winter sowing a variety of herbs and flowers in milk jugs that will be kept outside up until spring time when they sprout. We are growing in Northeast Ohio near the Lake Erie coast, with the growing zone bordering on zone 6a, zone 6b, & zone 7a near the shoreline.

Why haven't i seen your channel before lol. finally someone that is in the same zone and in Ohio. Love what you are doing, just started working on my lettuce.
I’m glad UA-cam showed my channel to you!! It hasn’t been very good at doing that to other Ohioans who I’m trying to connect with. Lettuce is a great crop for this time of year, one of my favorites to grow. 🌱🌱
If you have any other Ohio friends who may like this content please share with them!! 💚💚
Big puffy sounds like pampus grass. They come in pink too 💗. Also calamus was mentioned in the Bible as it was offered as a burnt offering to The Most High.
It probably is pampas grass! I hope it grows.🤞 I think it’d be cool to have a Bible garden.. where all the specific plants mentioned in the Bible are grown together
I used to be 7B and now this year I'm 8A
It was a lot of change for gardeners!
Need to start onions weeks ago trying within days
6a me still
Thanks
You’ll get it soon!! There’s still time 😊
That make up really makes the eyes pop!
Thank you!
Our chamomile re-seeds very well…
That’s good to know. I checked mine and it looks to still be alive
I have been meaning to start my early spring veggies and you have now motivated me! I start broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower seedlings indoors. I used to start them earlier but found they get too big and forces me to plant too early. Now should be about right to get them in the ground around March 15 here in Va zone 7a
Yay! Glad I could help motivate you. I wasn’t feeling up to it myself that day but was happy afterwards.
I’ll be starting my spring veggies just a few weeks after you! 🥦🥕🥬
I need to get some of those cells..the colors make it so you don’t have to use a lot of plant tags
They are very helpful in that way. I ordered these from bootstrap farmer website a few years back. They hold up well
I've spay painted mine.
Cloudy days is what we getting and we need sunshine to motivate us.
I need to prune my apple tree
Thanks
Love that greenhouse..I'm afraid of snakes in my garden how do you deal with that issue
I’ve had a little garden snake in my other greenhouse I use for in ground planting. It has never bothered or tried to hurt me. They are more scared of us and will keep away.
@@BecomingAGreenStalker 😂😂
@@bloomandwiltgardens it's just a a phobia they just scare me is all had one wrapped around my Bean Pole once stuck my hand to pick beans and got a scare of a lifetime..lol
Can I do any seeds that I have by cold sowing? I don’t have a greenhouse.
Yes it should work with any seed. They won’t sprout until their natural time, so it will be a few months, but it’s a great way to start seeds when you don’t have a place indoors to do it
Things like peppers or eggplants that require a long growing season may not benefit from winter sowing. They will sprout, but it could be June when they do. You may not have enough time in your growing season for them to fully mature.
I wanted to winter sow but its gonna be in the 50s all week and its ohio im worried if they sprout and it drops down (im along the river near wv zone 6b) will that hurt them? Im totally clueless ive done inside seeds never anything else still kinda new ...
It has been a relatively warm winter. I’m not sure how the winter sowing will turn out either since we will see warmer days. I’m of the mindset to try and learn. That way you can see what does and doesn’t work
@@bloomandwiltgardens I think I will girl, big thanks to you for inspiring me 🌱👍
Yes! I’ve even heard of people who steal cuttings..but I don’t know who that would be 🫢
😂😂 it’s what nature intended
