Daniel Rosenfeld (C418) was brought on to develop sound effects and music. Hayden Scott-Baron (Dock) was originally supposed to handle mobs, but quit the project pretty early on. Kristoffer Zetterstrand developed the in-game paintings. And of course Notch eventually started a full team to help finish the game with Mojang Studios. This is where the "big three" came into play. Markus Person (Notch), Nathan Adams (Dinnerbone), and Jens Bergensten (Jeb.) Now Mojang was pretty close-nit company, everyone had a hand in everything, but there were certain fields where these developers were most comfortable. Fields they would frequently show off their work for, make more entries than the other devs, or be praised by the other devs for their work. It sent me back a few years and I felt a great feeling of nostalgia (wow.. calling it nostalgia sounds so crazy) I think I randomly decided to get into Minecraft more and I guess I looked up Minecraft videos for the nether update and ended up finding you. I think I watched the nether update snapshots then you started the Nether Survival series which was SO fun to watch. The builds were amazing Mr. British Elite I think I was in 8th grade when I discovered you (or summer after 8th(?)) and it’s crazy to think by now, I’ve gotten a job and graduated high school Thank you for everything and keep the incredible vibes and mood going mate! :)
I respect Notch for his contributions but as someone who started very early on and bought the game in beta I remember a lot of history. There were many things that were going to be added that never were. Ropes is the first thing that came to mind. A whole world of exciting possibilities were there-rope bridges, zip lines, pulley systems. Way in the future as time went on we got substitute items that offered some features-placeable string and leads for example. Chains got added for a decorating element that ropes would have done years prior. I don't have a lot of faith he is going to churn out another success after how he did minecraft, and as the community started to hold him to a standard and have expectations he sold out to Microsoft.
I kind of hate how as soon as notch wants to DO something with his game development skills after leaving Minecraft (it was sold off to Microsoft years ago and Mojang is controlled by them) everyone's just like "OMG!!!!!! Notch is making a Minecraft 2!?!?!?!" (No offense, just my opinion)

@@tricursor2481 I am pretty sure it is not going to be successful. For one, it is not going to be like Minecraft. It is not Minecraft 2.0. A bunch of people have the weird hope that it will deliver them a "true Minecraft" but IF the game actually comes out, they will quickly be disillusioned.
Notch has publicly stated that he didn't really intend to make Minecraft 1 as it eventually existed, and its success was quite painful for him personally. It's unlikely he would be trying to create Minecraft 2 intentionally. It's sort of misguided to continually hold him to such high standards that he never intended to create.
Notch has been doing this for years posting screenshots of games he never finishes. He mainly likes tinkering with the system behind the game and he kinda got lucky with Minecraft because he basically built a system that allowed for a large sandbox where users made the fun. He’s not a game designer, he hired designers to give Minecraft life and a loose story and some mobs. He has more money than he knows what to do with and most days he wakes up in his pool after doing too many drugs with half naked women all around him. I know this because that’s what people who have been to his parties talk about. He has no real incentive to make anything and he is petrified by failure. This game will never be released. He is a one hit wonder and kinda turned into a creep with bad takes on all kinds of topics.
Compared to a lot of those other projects this one seems legit. His other projects we're short lived but this was has been going a lot longer then not.

There is a guy called finalforeach who is making a game called Cosmic Reach which is very similar to what Notch is doing. Basically writing a voxel engine to use dynamic coloured lighting.

This project is definitely not going to work out simply because it's built on a foundation of spite. Your half-summary of "Notch Lore" conveniently omits that the reason he disowned Minecraft and hates the community now is because they _rightfully_ outed him for something bad. After all of that happened, he had a tantrum on Twitter, in which he made it very clear that he was going to make another game. He said that his sole motivation for doing so is to one-up Minecraft and it's community. Hatred doesn't make good games. Passion does. Notch has long since lost his passion.

It is pretty cool that selling Minecraft worked out well for both parties. Notch made 2.5 BILLION, and Microsoft has made much more profit plus has been able to update regularly with a huge team (even if underwhelming updates)
To me it looks like some horror game in a "Ultrakill" formula with sandbox elements, like in Minecraft but you actually need to explore random gen.rooms to gather resources.

Notch has publicly stated that he didn't really intend to make Minecraft 1 as it eventually existed, and its success was quite painful for him personally. It's unlikely he would be trying to create Minecraft 2 intentionally. It's sort of misguided to continually hold him to such high standards that he never intended to create.
I would love to see a video about how to defeat the dragon..I know you made it before,but maybe for newbies,or easyly scared players? :D

Notch has been doing this for years posting screenshots of games he never finishes. He mainly likes tinkering with the system behind the game and he kinda got lucky with Minecraft because he basically built a system that allowed for a large sandbox where users made the fun. He’s not a game designer, he hired designers to give Minecraft life and a loose story and some mobs. He has more money than he knows what to do with and most days he wakes up in his pool after doing too many drugs with half naked women all around him. I know this because that’s what people who have been to his parties talk about. He has no real incentive to make anything and he is petrified by failure. This game will never be released. He is a one hit wonder and kinda turned into a creep with bad takes on all kinds of topics.

Compared to a lot of those other projects this one seems legit.
His other projects we're short lived but this was has been going a lot longer then not.

There is a guy called finalforeach who is making a game called Cosmic Reach which is very similar to what Notch is doing. Basically writing a voxel engine to use dynamic coloured lighting.

This project is definitely not going to work out simply because it's built on a foundation of spite. Your half-summary of "Notch Lore" conveniently omits that the reason he disowned Minecraft and hates the community now is because they _rightfully_ outed him for something bad. After all of that happened, he had a tantrum on Twitter, in which he made it very clear that he was going to make another game. He said that his sole motivation for doing so is to one-up Minecraft and it's community. Hatred doesn't make good games. Passion does. Notch has long since lost his passion.
Notch has the right to have an opinion. It doesn't hurt you.
Who says he isn't passionate about it? He could be putting his heart and transphobic little soul into it, for all you know.
Passion makes good games? ARK is the perfect example of why that isn't true. Passion makes good stories. But you still need to be talented with coding, writing, storytelling and who knows what else.
And of course his game won't beat Minecraft, but him being Minecrafts original creator will certainly draw attention to it. The Minecraft community is full of pedophiles, and shitty people in general. I hope his new game attracts a much more wholesome fanbase.

It is pretty cool that selling Minecraft worked out well for both parties. Notch made 2.5 BILLION, and Microsoft has made much more profit plus has been able to update regularly with a huge team (even if underwhelming updates)
