Love Leupold❤ my number one scope for 60+ years. Best warrant and almost all their scopes are made in USA. For HUNTING not target shooting the 3x9 scope will get anything done but I prefer the 4x12 for all my hunting!
Found in the Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x40 the perfect hunting scope. I prefer the boone & crockett reticle, sighting my rifle to MPBR and then figure out the bullet drop at the different aimpoints. Thus, I dont need to think about moving the turret, especially getting it back to zero!!! I also find it more versatile than the CDS system in case I am willing to try a different bullet weight or hunt at a different altitude. Hope Leupold starts producing a capped turret alternative for their line vx3 scopes again.
I literally bought that exact 3-15 Leupold scope earlier today. I got the windplex reticle because it was a great deal. Now, I have to figure out how to use the reticle.
Get your ballistics, try to use a chronograph, not just the box posted velocity, then send that info to leupold, wait 3-6 weeks, and install your custom turret. That's how easy they work. I have 2 and will soon have 3 or 4, and I've maxed the first one out on the shooting range. Vx3 with one rotation of elevation out to 670 yards. And have yet to max out the second one, a vx5 with 2 rotations of elevation and it can max out to 1300 yards
If I'm not mistaken I think that is the vx6-hd 3-18x44 I thought the vx-5 hd had a capped wind turret and the vx-6 hd came with a zero lock turret for windage also the vx-6 hd comes with the throw lever and alumacaps not the vx-5 hd
Leupold vx5 3-15×44 with the firedot. But, for a super lightweight rifle that I plan on building in a 6mm arc for deer and antelope, I'll do the 2.5-8 that you showed first
Truth be told the 3.5 x10 40mm Leupold CDS is the Sweet Spot as I find I need less power way more than I ever need more than 10 power. In reality if 10 power is not enough you are most likely need to get closer !
The user adaptability of the Swarovski turret seems like a beautiful thing.

I like my zeiss v4 4-16x44 a little better than my vx5 but both are great scope for hunting.
2.5x8 Loupy is the ultimate hunting scope in my opin.
Got a screaming deal on a Trijicon Credo HX 4-16x50. Works great for me.
What model vx5 has a locking windage turret? I thought those were only available in the Vx6 hd line

Leupold 2.5-8 VXlll was my first scope purchased from Edelman’s for $159,,, guess what year that was!
love your podcast but you need to fix your youtube audio its too quiet I have to crank my speakers
Criteria: in addition to those listed, I also like mine to have an illuminated reticle.
What are the details on those carbon barreled rifles? Action, barrels, stocks etc.
ps - why are those Leupold lens caps so expensive?
Except for one all my hunting rifles have Leupold scopes. I have the same VX5 windplex scope on my 270. Even my 22LR has a leupold scope.
Great video. Joseph, how long is the barrel on your anti x rifle build? Thank you.
22 inches long. Thanks for watching!
Redfield Widefield Illuminator preferred but there Low Profile n Older Widefield ..
Lupold aren't bad
