    Loved this, it looks like so much fun to sew, and it is great seeing how to adjust a pattern for a completely different look.

    Thank you for sharing this. I have added elastic to the back but now the back is bagging slightly - is there a way to rectify this? Thanks

    I love this pattern medication for a gathered bust combined with the scoop neckline! ❤️
    1) When marking the new seam line for bust and lower part, how far below the dart should I go for A cup?
    2) When adding fullness to bust piece, i.e. 4 inches/each side, how many inches do I add for size XS/A cup?

      Thanks! You could probably do the same distance for the seam line for an a-cup. You could probably add 2-3" to the piece (so that would be 4-6" total). Hope that helps!

    What kind of fabric did you use for this dress? I love the drape ❤️

    Great hack! 2 questions, did you iron the seam allowance under the bust toward the bust or down toward the skirt? For the ruffle at the bottom, did you measure the opening flat or all the way around to then double?

    • @FridayPatternCompany
      @FridayPatternCompany  2 роки тому +1

      Glad you enjoyed it! The seam allowance is pressed up toward the bust and I measured all the way around the hem and then doubled. Hope that helps!

      @@FridayPatternCompany yes, very helpful! I only have so much fabric so I’m trying to stretch it to make it work. Thank you!

      @@lynnseyporter374 You can also do 1.5X the measurement of the hem and it will still look great just not quite as full of a gather!

    Hi! I’m about to start this project and have a few questions: are the neckline measurements in the instruction booklet? For the tie straps I know you said to do the side loops instead at 25 inches. Are those attached like the back smaller straps are for adjustment so they’re sewn inside of the binding that will lead into the front straps? (I hope that makes sense) And the elastic on the back of the dress, what size elastic did you use and you just measured your own shape to fit, correct? For the altered bust, I’m a D cup- is the 8 additional inches still okay to do or what would you suggest? And for the ruffle panel would it be ok to use the wilder gown panels for a similar fit? Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

      Hello, Which neckline measurement (across front?)? Not positive I understand this question, the back straps are attached essentially the same way the small loops in the pattern would be attached except they aren't folded in half. I believe it was a 3/8" wide elastic and yes, I measured it against my body and kind of guestimated. 8" is probably fine, I might add length vertically to make sure the gathered area can fully envelop your bust if that makes sense, maybe an inch or two. Yes, you can use the wilder gown panel :) Hope that helps! Good luck!

    Can you explain why the elastic was used? Could you hack the pattern without using elastic?

  • @indieconquers

    I'm confused by the elastic backing. Can you explain again how you measure the amount of elastic needed and where to add the marking?

      Same

    • @FridayPatternCompany
      @FridayPatternCompany  3 роки тому +3

      Yes! I did it in a kind of unscientific way by stretching a length of elastic across my back until it felt good and then cutting it. To find the spot to add it, match up your lower front piece and back piece on the sideseams ( you can use the notches as a matching reference point) and add a mark where the underbust seamline will be. After marking the sideseams you can use a ruler to draw a line connecting the marks to create a guide for sewing on elastic! I hope that helps!

    In the directions it say to cut 2 of strap E. But I don’t see that you use 2 of them. ???
