Battle of the Slip Dresses Vol. 3 - My Top 3 Slip Dress Patterns | So What If I Sew
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Welcome back to the third instalment of Battle of the Slip Dresses, a challenge borne of a collaboration between myself and the wonderful Tamlyn of @SewnontheTyne where we tried the Saltwater and Sicily Slip Dresses and gave our thoughts. As you will remember I wasn't entirely happy with my makes so I added a third slip to the mix, the Jessica Slip Dress from Tammy Handmade!
In this vlog I talk you through all three patterns, my thoughts, recommendations, and experiences of making them, and then I rank the patterns on objective criteria such as price, size brackets, fabric usage etc.
If you enjoyed this vlog please do give it a like and if you would like to see me do it with other patterns let me know in the comments below!

I can't believe that this video exists! I was just wondering which pattern of slip dress should I go for. Thanks for the comparisons! And the reviews. Wish I could see them closer, but I'll go check the other videos!
Aw thank you! Im so glad that this video is useful!
Many thanks for your video really useful. I’ve made the Scilly love the style but doesn’t fit right around my tummy and I don’t feel comfortable in it. I’m also small and curvy so I’m going to give the Jessica a go. I recently made Tammy’s Rhea dress and I love it. Thanks once again H x
This was a lovely video, it's so great to see the comparisons! Glad you love The Jessica Dress ❤️
I can totally see why the Jessica is your favourite. Hope you love your next one just as much as the first.
Oh Jess heartbreaking. You look lovely in the Jessica dress. So glad you are able to recreate it and will able to sew in the fabric of your choice.😊
Thank you so much! Luckily a fellow sewist has cupro she doesn't want so is sending it to me and I can make another one!
Agree Tammy handmade dress is elegant and stunning
Thanks for a great comparison! I just made my 1st saltwater today and overall the fit is good (after taking in the side seams 2cm on either side at the arm holes). Next on my list is the Tammy Handmade pattern after your recommendation 🧵
Love your honesty..thank you
🇨🇦😃very informative! Sad about the Jessica it’s beautiful
Oh Jess I'm so sorry about the cut dress. 😭 so frustrating when that happens. Happened to me recently when trimming the seam on a summer dressing gown. Had to walk away and spent the next several hours coming to terms with it. 😂
Your dresses are all beautiful but I am just wondering what software do you wear for the beginning of your video
Thank you and sorry I missed your comment! I actually made the animation on canva then edited in imovie ☺️
@@SoWhatIfISew thank you xx
Your Jessica slip dress is beautiful on you - what a shame - I think we’ve all been there 🤦🏻♀️. I’m sending u a DM re: cupro x
Thank you so much! Luckily a lovely sewist on instagram has some extra cupro and has sent it to me so I can make it again ☺️ xx
