My hair is not very dense, but I actually like that chunkier twists give it more volume. I don’t tie the roots though.

I did this style, but used perm rods on the ends so they’re curly.
We’re going back to childhood. I wore this 3rd grade. It is still cu ute 🤩 Just add a little grease and some pink oil and you’ll be straight. We use to keep our hair in braids and twist until we got grown. Then we wore it down and it all came out😏. Going back to basics🥰
You have a really pretty smile. The hair looks great. I do chunky twist from time to time. Much quicker than mini twist.

hey sis!! looks awesome! rubber bands scare me lol i just smooth each section at the root with a little edge control (curls edge control) and i braid the root then twist and it still comes out neat😁

So cuuute! I do similar ones and they can last a month with retwisting and no extra heat. I don't use rubber bands or have straight parts (so pretty how you did it!! I will try!) I rope twist or braid for 2-3 turns to keep the base tight and then loose twist. A couple of times a month, I take each down to lightly moisturize one by one, bantu knot to dry for a min or 2, then separate/fluff and retwist. For styling, after the first week I keep them pulled back in a banana clip (horizontal), section the pony in 2, loosely twist each of the 2 sections, and tuck each twist under the opposite side of the banana clip so that the twists cross each other in the middle. It looks like a huge intricate bun, keeps my hair STRETCHED, and ends away. Love your vids!

People with finer hair should try loose twist. It makes your hair appear fuller.

Somebody in the comments just suggested braiding the roots instead of rubber bands.. that might work for you

This came out really well!!!! I like the side part best. I can’t do this without weave though, because I don’t have thick enough hair. I’d be on the struggle bus if I just used mine. 😂😂😂
i do mine a LOT smaller than this but this style is lit. I do mine really small, like smaller than a straw...i twist the base tight then do a loose twist til i get to the last inch or so...and then once done i mist my hair with aloe vera, shea butter and gel to twist my ends...it lasts at least a week...workout friendly. ive never been satisfied with twist outs and this gives the vibe but lasts wayyyy longer and way more forgiving.

I don't like when people say our hair is manly. Because if that's the case how come men from other races don't have have 'manly' hair. They have the same type of hair their women have. I've grown to love my 4c hair as well. I wear it everyday, everywhere I go. I'm going to back to my heavenly father, the same way he made me.
