@@JacobandJennyTravelAt 0:30 on your video you can see something which resembles the tower of Barad-dûr. Only wait for proper time and look from proper angle to see… Meanwhile look around and you will see that in one part of Warsaw there is Mordor - that's how some people call that place with high number of corporations' skyscrapers.

@@JacobandJennyTravel Oh! The list is very long. It all depends on how much time you have to visit Krakow. To see all the wonderful and historical places you need at least a month. However, the basic monuments are the Royal Castle, the Main Market Square, the Kazimierz district and Podgórze. You can also visit nearby castles and monasteries. For example, the Castle in Pieskowa Skała or the summer residence of Polish kings in Niepołomice. It is also great to go to nearby Wieliczka, where there is an old salt mine. It was founded in the 13th century, but the beginnings of exploitation date back to the Neolithic era, i.e. approximately 3000 years BC. You go down stairs to a depth of 135 meters. There are about 800 steps to climb. Everything in it is made of salt.

Zugmunt III Waza was just a king of Poland, Great Prince of Lithuania, and for a little while a king of Sweden and a prince of Finland. The monument was made byhis son just for propaganda purposes, or to celebrate how awesome he was or something. He wasn't the greatest king of Poland (that title is definitely Kazimierz Wielki's, Casimir the Great) but Poland was the biggest during his time, so he must've done something right.

The center of Warsaw is so long-winded, in fact there is not one place/street where you can say that this is a real center here, as in other Polish as well as European cities. Theoretically Warsaw's Old Town should be the main center, but in practice hardly any Varsovians when they go to the center, go there.

6:02: Because of the war - well, it was not merely wartime destruction during fighting. After the Warsaw Uprising failed, the Germans went out of their way to eradicate the city. Within the next six months, they purposefully demolished as many buildings as have been destroyed in the five years of fighting and occupation before then. It is estimated 85 to 90% of Warsaw was destroyed, including almost the entirety of the Old Town, many historical landmarks, museums, libraries etc. The Old town was reconstructed after the war, the New Town only partially. Out of the Saxon Palace, only the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier survived and was partially reconstructed - in recent years a project started to rebuild the whole thing.
To get the idea, look up a picture of a girl in the ruins of Warsaw taken by Reginald Kenny in 1946. What she's overlooking is not a construction site, gravel pit or no man's land - it's where the Warsaw Ghetto was located just a few years earlier.
    9:09: In Polish, it's "Barbakan"

My first snow park for snowboard was in Szczyrk and best memories of old town (small but nice) was in Bielsko Biala.

On February 1, 1944, Polish partisans (soldiers of the Home Army) carried out an attack on Franz Kutschera, the SS and Police commander of the Warsaw district. It happened in the very heart of the police district occupied by the Germans. However, Poles paid a high price for the successful action. Four participants of the action died. The two, cornered by the Germans on the bridge, jumped into the river where they died. The occupant's losses amounted to five killed and nine wounded.
SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Polizei Franz Kutschera, after taking up his position in Warsaw on September 25, 1943, immediately used terror against the civilian population, unprecedented in the occupied city. The number of roundups increased, street executions became more numerous, and announcements were posted in public places every day about additional Poles who would be shot in the event of an attack on any German soldier or policeman. It is estimated that approximately 300 people were shot per week on Kutschera's orders. When Kutschera led the security forces in Warsaw, the number of civilian victims could have reached five thousand.

West Slavic consists Polish, Czech, and Slovak. The South Slavic consists Serbian, Croatian, and Slovene. All of these languages make it harder to learn, especially for English speakers.
