I am liking the mini Chinese excavator option after seeing this.

Same here. Stopped looking at backhoes at this point. Can get a Chinese mini that will do more than a subcompact backhoe for same or less money.

I'm leaning that way as well.... I just am fighting a back hoe....seems like a micro-x just would do more to me.

Exactly. I can get a chinese backhoe for almost half what a backhoe for my tractor would cost.

New mic worked well, no wind noise, and could hear clearly. Good demonstration as well, I've always been hesitant to add a backhoe due to overthinking the removal process.

Thanks for the feedback. I think it makes the filming better if I can talk while I’m moving around and actually on the machine
Probably 15 minute process and a little bit of a hassle, but not terrible

I had a 416B cat rubber tire backhoe- no cab. It had 5k hours on it- and I put another 1k on it over 10 years. (it was $24k in 2011- and I sold it for ...$24k in 2020. You get very spoiled being able to push the machine up with the loader from the reversible seat (and toggle throttle). Having the front AND back off the ground really stabilizes the machine. I bought a mini ex with a thumb because the CAT was too heavy to move- but I'll never get used to the 'tippy'-ness of the mini vs the rubber tire machine (plus you could turn around and grab stuff with the 4-1 bucket and actually move it!) Good luck learning the ins and outs, man. Stay safe.

We put a deposit on this tractor.
We are getting a grapple, forks, a bucket, and a hydrolic top link for about $40k.
We decided to buy a mini excavator instead of the Backhoe.
    Thanks for the recommendation.

Watch out for the white hydraulic filter next to the gas tank, it is very possible to hit it with the backhoe arms, its not important how I know this...The filter screws into a pot metal base and the base will snap off and you are immobile until repaired. The issue you may have is leave jt for a month or two and the slide part that goes under the tractor will be 2' off the ground. You then have to park next to it, hook up then put on ground. My suggestion from using the same machine and same backhoe, is use 4 cinderblocks and 2 2x4s to rest on. I run backhoe at 1,700rpm, I switched my bucket to a 12" because of the ammount of rock here and our ground is literally decomposed granite. With a bit of practice you can do 2 functions at once.
Also something worth noting, I show this in my maintenance video I'm posting next week, the primary hydraulic feed is exposed on the bottom side of these tractors, I show how I made my skid plate in the video. (It's corney, but works) I would strongly suggest making or having some form of protection for this line, also buy a spare to have it, will cost $20 at dealer, if or when this hose gets torn you will thank me. Otherwise you are stranded until you get it fixed. The diameter of this hose and that it's for hydraulic fluid makes it next to impossible to find. I Have 2 spares, however since I made skid plate have not needed it.

It will take a couple times putting it on to get the process down. Use caution with the hydro filter by fuel tank. You can break it off easily with backhoe frame. I also find hooking up the top link will give you better stability. There is a place for the pin under the seat. Bought a 9 inch bucket for stumps and trenches and it seems to work better for roots.

I stab the buckets, then place the tractor in neutral before getting on the backhoe... Your buckets will be your brakes. Nice setup there, Man!

I have the slightly smaller version of this backhoe on my tractor and have done a few things to make removing/installing easier.
1 - blocks under the main pin/pivot and under the sub frame so it cant settle when in storage. Before doing this the hydraulics would settle and the subframe would end up sticking up in the air preventing you from backing over it to reinstall.
2 - 4ft hydraulic hose extensions hang in my barn next to the backhoe incase you cant get the tractor backed over the subframe to install.
3 - flat faced connect under pessure hose connections on all my tractor attachments
4 - when not connected to the tractor i have hose connections attached to the bachkhoe to connect the hoses to. These connections just have a 1/4 turn ball valve on them to releave any pressue that builds up in storage. The problem i found is that the return hose from the backhoe to the tractor on mine has a one way valve inside the backhoe. This ment that presure would build up in that hose with no where to go and would be to much for even the connect under pressure hose ends. By storring the hoses connected to my storage connections all i have to do it open the ball valve for a split secound and it released any pressure.
5 - for storage leave the backhoe in a spot with an easy reference to line the tractor back up. Mine sits in the barn next to a wall, just line the tractor up straight with the wall at the distance that i remember and you will be almost perfectly lined up with the backhoe.
With these easy modifications i can typically hook up to the backhoe without any issues. I like the design of these backhoes once i got use to it.

I have a Kioti and the backhoe is very similar. It takes me about two minutes to remove or install. It takes practice, it gets easier. You did great for the first time. The people that seem to have the most problems are the ones that rarely remove them. I’m like you. I have lots of other attachments to use.

Howdy Brock! Yes sir JD seems to have the backhoe attaching and detaching down. I dunno if I can afford to get a backhoe on my future tractor - not sure I would have enough use to justify the cost. But still... I'd like to have one just to play 😁 I need to find one of those adult heavy equipment camps where you pay just to play lol. Well done and thanks for sharing 🤠

The backhoe (46) on my 2010 Deere 2520 (26.6 HP) is the same type of mount as this one. It has always been a royal pain....but I've learned that to make it easier, parking it on solid and level ground makes a huge difference. It also helps to block it up close to mounting height...but make sure the pins are in the boom. The bucket sags and can mess things up sometimes...so the more you can make things rigid, when you leave it, the better. Also....a long handle prybar....such as a tamping bar, really helps sometimes.

Very interesting, that long sub-frame makes the angles in 3 dimensions need to be very precise compared to other brands, but putting the BH on a pallet on wheels on concrete, lets you move it manually and greatly simplifies the process..
I find with experience, you'll learn to slowly pull the controls and be able to slow the motion down, just like with the FEL, they hydraulic controls are not an on/off but incrementally moveable

I saw another video were they used the backhoe's side to side movement to help line it up with the groove. Seemed to work good for them but they didn't mention how far off they were from center.
