Now that John Deere is moving their operation out of the country. People are turning away from all their products. This would be the perfect time for TYM to step up their dealership foot print.
I'm still trying to understand why? Why does a 25 horse tractor with loader and mower deck cost $20,000.00 dollars. My mom and dad bought their first house for that. Inflation is a part of the issue, but I believe gread is the biggest problem.
I’m a retired 3rd generation tractor dealer. My granddad sold Case tractors out of his front yard and my dad did until he built a building out on the highway, close to a small town here in Missouri. They never sold more than 5-10 tractors per year. My dad also was in the well pump business, he farmed, first dairy, then beef cattle and hay, and he also wrote property insurance. He also built a drive-in restaurant and purchased another. None were super successful; basically he just swapped dollars back and forth, but managed to keep us kids fed. I worked in a Ford tractor dealership for about 10 years until I had the chance in 1988 to purchase a 20% interest in another Ford/New Holland dealership for $150,000. I paid $10,000 down and the previous owners financed the balance to me at about 9% interest. I retired out of that dealership with a 50% interest when we sold it in 2020 for about 85% of book value. The reason you don’t see more TYM dealers is the amount of money it takes to open a dealership and maintain it. Our dealership seldom sold more than 50 tractors (under 100hp) per year and almost never topped 3 million in sales but we had to keep a bank balance of approximately $250k year round to cover the ups and downs. We knew that during the 4 winter months, we would lose $1,000 per day just to open the doors, and we were ok with that because we would typically begin turning a profit by April. I retired as a Kubota dealer, and as we were seeking a buyer for our dealership, Kubota was requiring any prospective buyer to have $1 million dollars of unencumbered assets to take on a dealership. You mentioned mom and pop stores, but in our area, virtually all of those are gone. Now someone may not need that much capital to open a TYM dealership; everyone should inquire and jump on the band wagon. Owning a tractor dealership is a great way to have a steady job: I worked 5 and 1/2 10 hour shifts per week for 32 years. And sometimes, you might even be able to get your overall profit percentage up to 5% of total sales! Right now, the town (10,000 population) our dealership was in has 6 tractor dealers within a 10 mile radius. We have Kubota, John Deere, Massey, Bobcat, RK, and LS. And the compact tractor market is down about 20% this year. Good times a-coming!
The sad thing is,I live in northeast Georgia, their assembly plant is three hours from where I live, but the nearest dealer is an hour and a half to to two hours away.We have two JD dealers within twenty minutes, one a full on ag dealer and the other more into compact and utility dealer. We have a Kubota,New Holland,Mahindra dealers within twenty minutes, and a Massey dealer less than an hour.I would like to check out TYM and possibly buy one,but don't want a dealer so far away, especially in their "home" state.
Hank, i love your vids, i have an older (2013) tym t503 just rolled 934hrs, only issue ive had is the rear pto seal started leaking, going to dealer to fix this week, only a $200 fix, i have 0 complaints with the tractor, its done everything ive asked for
I agree on needing more TYM dealers , I was dead set on buying the T25 but no places around me within reason was close enough , Ended up buying the RK25 from rural king its almost the same machine re-branded !
Good one Hank, got me to watch the video your plan worked, the rippling effect of foreign made tractors creating American jobs, enjoy your videos and my South Korean LS tractor
TYM making the tractors for Rural King is helping to get their products out there - if folks do a slight bit of research to see that RK is rebadged TYM. Plus I can take it to RK or TYM for any work.
You used to use Mahindra , then you switched , my place is tiny & bought a used Mahindra E Max 22 . What I like about even their larger machines , is NO. REGEN , As they found away around it .
I’m new to your channels but after watching for a few weeks it helped me decide to buy a TYM 574. On my tractor it makes sound almost like the hydraulics are surging in certain RPM ranges! It doesn’t seem to affect the hydraulic function but is just worrying me a little. Does yours do the same or am i maybe looking at a problem with mine?
Your new tractor will have a whine to it when new. When you do your 50 hour service and replace your hydraulic fluid, that should somewhat go away. Totally normal 👍
It's a Shame that John Deere turned it's Back on America & Canada as I'm an ex John Deere Apprentice Mechanic. So Sad that they'll do anything to save a Buck.
We have looked at them & would love to get one but we don't know how they would be with the way we work them. Most all the videos you watch on them they are not working them super hard or for full days back to back like we work in the hay fields and around the farm & they are all the smaller TYM Tractors. How would the 100+ HP Tractors hold up you know. I'm sure there are more people like us that love the price but would love to see the hard working side not saying they're not being worked hard but the day in day out all day could sway more people. A lot of the videos on my channel are of us running all day with hay cutters, Balers, Rakes, Bushhogs & larger disc. I've went to our local dealer M&M Rental & looked but the largest they had was a 55 HP. Just my my opinion but I think it would really help if when folks were looking for info they could see them putting in some hours. Not so much row crop hours because that is a whole other level but there is a huge opportunity for TYM in the hay business and cattle operations. Where we are the John Deere & Kubota are the main Tractors With the Kubota being the more popular in the hay fields. We have a Kubota that we aren't impressed with because it is really lite on the rear end in my opinion. Thanks for the click bait though! 🤣🤣
I wasn't saying the click bait to be negative I was saying it as a joke because I know that is what I try to figure out the most on my videos is title to make people click LOL. Good video Hank I wasn't being Negative I was just saying we are really interested in them but just wonder how they will hold up to the go go go. Thanks @Hank Hamilton
I’m 40 miles south of Atlanta and I’ve never seen a tym dealer around here we have John dealers two of them close by. And a Kabota. Dealer close but no tym anywhere.
I have a TYM and like it. Why don’t they have more dealers? My dealer quit selling them even though they are a good tractor. His opinion was that they were making it harder for a small dealer.
I don't follow everything these companies do. All I know about JD is that they've are more expensive with less capacity that other competitors. They've been resting on their name for years. The price is not justified when you see their profits are going up year over year but their features and innovation are nowhere to be seen. They screwed over workers, leading to a strike. They take the same tractor, add a cup holder, and crank up the price 20%. It doesn't make sense to me.
Agreed, I hope they will add to their dealer network, furthermore, I hope they follow Kioti and add skid steers and mini-ex and zero turn mowers to their lineup. But something that they have just done that actually has kinda pissed me off, go to their website, my tractor (T474C) and your tractor (T574C) are no longer there. They increased the models by a single digit, and the 5835R has been eliminated, along with all the 5 series tractors (T1104, thru T130) the idea of having to constantly translate model designations is one of the reasons to hate John Deere. They need to stop following the industry practices that piss me off. Oh, and they're selling to us in metric.
Nortrack, the tractors carried in the Northern Tool catalog are made in China. And from the reviews I've seen on them, people say you're better off with a Kubota.
See i agree because residential stuff like your small stuff. Where you don’t need huge stuff. Small diesel loader buckets, back hoes mini stuff. Where if i could afford like your small Tym where load like lawn bags leaves to what ever instead of taking multiple trips my dad’s shoulders say i’m done bags make as far as the back fence they sit until he feels up to dragging the bags to haul off. Then by having a small loader bucket put three or four bags raise it to the bed of the pick up boom your done or put them in a utility trailer. Two have a mower deck. John. deer is great but closest one is about a hour that’s if they have any. Now because of the broken brake peddle issue those size tractors 🚜 they can’t sell until a fix is issued and those who have bought your mini’s stuff has to park theirs because if arm breaks you can’t stop. The other in magnolia arkansas is Kubota The other issue is service after a sell warranty stuff parts etc. They don’t come to you; go back to them with issues The BIG big issue Sticker Shock. My residential Exmark now for the same size is 10,000$ plus they have lost their minds. Not saying ten but close to it. Yes we have Magnito Service used them for all our stuff My dad bought every snapper mower from them never a lick of trouble just bought oil spark plugs filters. Occasionally mower wheel. Now you don’t see Snapper some other off brand Snapper just doesn’t wear out we ran the dog out them Yes briggs and Stratton all mowers burn some oil My ex mark battery or deck belt haven’t touched a thing, air filter oil change.
If you buy a tractor for $50,000 and sell it 10 years or more later for $30,000 You should have gotten at least $20,000 worth of use out of it unless you bought it and it sat in the barn and was never used.
You are forgetting the fact of Pride of ownership and how much it means for you to be able to do what you want when you want ! I suppose you could just rent all your stuff !
Rental or ownership ! That maybe explains why you don’t have a dozer or maybe a 3 axle dump truck ?! Ya need to use enough to warrant having it - Right ?
Agree with needing more dealers to a point. Not so many the rational becomes we have to raise prices to keep our dealer network. In my area of Canada, Saskatchewan population dictates where you would invest as a company. Makes sense small market hard to rationalize the investment. I hope we get a few more of these brands as they have good products and provide competition in the marketplace. As TYM and others grow keep prices affordable.
I've been researching for a compact tractor for 2 years, and was going and leaning g towards Yanmar, but this half year discovered TYM,GUEST WHAT,Just bough me a 2515h, And so 😊 Happy
Dealer support and service is a big deal. If you can’t get parts and service a machine that’s broke is useless. Time is money. Downtime for a machine is a money loser.
I like they tractors but they as a company is making wrong move. I have the logo tattooed on my hand, a model 4440 on my arm and the numbers 4440 on my fingers. I love jd tractors themselves.
love your channel HANK great content and love that you are teaching the girls like you do oh and kidding about you putting in a word for me with TYM but MAN they are nice looking tractors and would love one for sure
I hear you there tym should have more dealerships in every state because when Kabota started production of their tractors the started figuring out if they started building more dealerships they would have more customers and that’s what happened they built more dealerships and they got more customers than they ever expected
*Well they wrapped Branson, so they are growing. LSE in TN. has them as a budget tractor option to Kioti, but truly TYM is excellent quality. JOHN DEERE CAN GO PHOCK THEMSELVES.*
As popular as TYM has become, they will experience a sales drop if they don't put more dealers near customers. It's a deal breaker to have a dealer more than an hour away, given mileage costs for transport to and from, time down, and bottleneck for service and parts. I'd have to think hard about that. Don't click bait...it's not cute, clever, or useful. Just keep up good content.
@@hhamilton1970 You’ve made this comment a few times now. Instead of thinking it’s clever, you should listen to your followers. That’s what matters. In today’s world of distrust and hysteria to get clicks and likes, it’s annoying to us with good sense. Don’t bait, just tell the truth and maintain your image and good content.
Hey Hank. Just wanted you to know that Jinma tractors are made in China and they are the biggest piece of junk ever made in my and my dad's opinion. We owned one it wasn't nothing but problems.
Hank, I knew that you were not serious when you said you hate TYM. About there not being enough dealerships is not optional. If you have a small town that already sells Kioti then that just might be a hard market share to get into. They may have already got a well-known name for themselves and are known as a neighbor year after year. TYM like most companies are looking at the lion's share. They have demographics that they must consider because they have shareholders, that want to see results. I don't know why everyone jumps on John Deere; they have a union that alone makes their cost go up to where they are not competitive like TYM, Kioti and many more. They are moving some of their operations to Mexico in order to get away from the unions, totally understandable unless you're a union guy. We all have options if you support the unions than by all means open up your wallet and buy a John Deere!
I am 67 how and have 5 tractor and NO cab tractor and I cannot take the heat or the COLD would like to sell most of them and get myself a TYM maybe you could put in a word for me ????? live in southwest va. there is no dealer near me maybe they could ship a nice one to me ?say about 55 or 60 HP, oh and got to say not a one of my tractors are GREEN .LOL.
Herd the news from JD and the big three auto makers and not surprised. Sames as rhe restaurants, just cannot keep paying these hourly rates and make a profit long term. People are tired of the proces and are turning to other manufacturers like TYM.
John Deere---besides the standard green and yellow offering--will now offer a rainbow of colors such as red, purple, orange and blue into their tractor color spectrum--to be inclusive with a competitive marketplace. JD will also offer an "It identifies as" name plaque--for all machines--that the purchaser can customize it to the machine--to remind the purchaser that the tractor is an individual--who has feelings--and was not built as originally engineered...but now identifies and functions as another type of machinery (insert your option here) by its individual choice. Therefore, now is so proud to be inclusive in the world of farm machinery acceptance. Ex: "Bob" was originally a JD combine, who now identifies as a tractor--who prefers to not to perform routine farm chores. However, now insist to auger silage or grain into a bin and wants to be called "Betty" from now on. Thank goodness the South Koreans haven't lost their minds. Go TYM!!
"TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT TYM!!!" LOL SO HANK, WHY DON'T YOU LOOK INTO BEING A TYD DEALER, YOU GOT THE ROOM RIGHT? WOULD'NT THAT BE COOL? Say why not find some rubber plugs or caps to put over those zerk fitting access holes so you don't have to clean them out before greasing them.
Let me begin with...I have been bending wrenches professionally for a living for 42 years...surgical gloves...Really Dude? And I am supposed to take tour opinion seriously?
Still have a long way to go on fit and finish . Shifting was very hard . Engine noise was more than others . You like them , great . They arent for everyone.
Not sure you understand how UA-cam works. What you did was engaged with this video three times. Which is two times more than the average viewer.. 1. You clicked on the video. 2. You clicked on a reaction icon "thumbs down" in this case and 3. You left a comment. So thank you for telling UA-cam this video is something they should push out to more people because it creates engagement and they love that. Keep watching, clicking and commenting. You're my favorite type fan! Have a good day!
Hank, you put out really good content; you don’t have to click bait us. Keep up the good work, but please don’t make click bait a habit.

you suck!!
Click bait will cost you viewers in the long run.
Now that John Deere is moving their operation out of the country. People are turning away from all their products. This would be the perfect time for TYM to step up their dealership foot print.
agreed
Click bait videos are the best way to lose me watching your videos! But your correct they need more dealers.

I literally talk about why I title it this way in the video. 👍
Doesn’t matter.Still click bait
Wish i had a TYM dealer close to me!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
I believe that some years back northern tool was selling tractors made in China
Wish i knew the little 25 hp tym had more lift capacity than the 32 hp Kubota i bought
You are absolutely correct. I wear my TYM cap all the time and everyone asks " What is TYM? " Great info, HANK !!!!!
I agree on needing more TYM dealers , I was dead set on buying the T25 but no places around me within reason was close enough , Ended up buying the RK25 from rural king its almost the same machine re-branded !

I've had an RK 37 (made by TYM for Rural King) for about a year now. I absolutely love it, it's an awesome tractor.
Great Video Hank!
I've seen surgeons spend less time cleaning than he did those grease fittings
most don't clean them at all just pump more in.

I hear you there tym should have more dealerships in every state because when Kabota started production of their tractors the started figuring out if they started building more dealerships they would have more customers and that’s what happened they built more dealerships and they got more customers than they ever expected
Right on
Most of these tractors sell used five years after purchase for what they paid for them new, at least JD and Kubota.
Hundi KIA both made in S Korea as reliable and dependable Honda and Toyota!
*Well they wrapped Branson, so they are growing. LSE in TN. has them as a budget tractor option to Kioti, but truly TYM is excellent quality. JOHN DEERE CAN GO PHOCK THEMSELVES.*
At the moment John Deere tractors and made in China headquarters in Croatia with distributions across North America euro Asia and assembled in the USA
You have to use Click bate do to the lack of real content can do videos with a partner but they all drop you after a time
They all drop you after a time even if you don't use clickbait. Nothing last forever. I thought it was a clever spin on the title.
And it's not green
John Deere's big construction equipment is made in China as are other makes of very large construction equipment.
Who is number one who’s number three number four number five number six number seven
I got a video coming out on that soon
Why don't you open a dealership?
Too close to an already established dealer. TYM has distance requirements between dealerships.
It's definitely clever.

You’ve made this comment a few times now.
I had one for 16 years. Mine worked great. Had backhoe and chipper with it. The only problem I had was the rubber was no good except the tires.
It's not John Deere and it's foreign made tractor
Jd sadly turning to Juan deeré
Yeah ahhh hank I hate click bait videos if u keep it up u will lose viewers I won't watch I'll leave u heed the warning
You know what I hate about TYM tractors?
They're made in China.
Haha!
God bless you all!
Some Massey Ferguson tractors are made in China
Click bait unsubscribe mate!
You should become a dealer yourself
We have one 9 miles from my house. I couldn't if I wanted to
I am 67 how and have 5 tractor and NO cab tractor and I cannot take the heat or the COLD would like to sell most of them and get myself a TYM maybe you could put in a word for me ????? live in southwest va. there is no dealer near me maybe they could ship a nice one to me ?say about 55 or 60 HP, oh and got to say not a one of my tractors are GREEN .LOL.
These click-bait titles...
Herd the news from JD and the big three auto makers and not surprised. Sames as rhe restaurants, just cannot keep paying these hourly rates and make a profit long term. People are tired of the proces and are turning to other manufacturers like TYM.
Misleading video! I think you are blowing credibility. Perhaps something you do not have.
😂
Click bait. Done with your videos. Very clever
Take care. See ya later.
Do you want an audience of people that like clickbait titles?
I thought it was clever.
TrueDat Brother ty put 24 hrs on my nh this week open station I'm 69 it's hot need a cab js
We have a dealer too close for me to become one. They have minimum requirements for miles between dealers
@@hhamilton1970 Well Bummer, thanks for responding.

Hello 🤩😁😁🤩🤩😁🤩🤩😁🤩🤩🤩😁🤩🤩🤩😁🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Let me begin with...I have been bending wrenches professionally for a living for 42 years...surgical gloves...Really Dude? And I am supposed to take tour opinion seriously?
Yes
Still have a long way to go on fit and finish . Shifting was very hard . Engine noise was more than others . You like them , great . They arent for everyone.
Yeah they are nowhere close to a Kubota fit and finish. Thats a true statement 👍
I really think my 474 cab has nice fit and finish. Everyone comments says it looks sharp.
Besides fit and finish don't get the job done anyhow
Yeah, you got me to click on the video but then I clicked on the "THUMBS DOWN" button for wasting my time. Think I had the last laugh.
