We've had to call 911 on my mom twice from low blood sugar. It's the scariest thing ever! The ambulance guys came in and put an IV in her arm and in like 3 minutes she came back to us mentally. We make her use the libre sensor now so it alerts her phone when her blood sugar goes below 70. It's expensive though, like $60-$100 a month, but well worth it. She's happy she doesn't have to prick her fingers anymore.

I can’t believe, as type 1 diabetic, that a doctor would prescribe muscle relaxers without at least chatting about it! I have lows at night and can’t imagine sleeping thru it with muscle relaxers. I think blue eyes knows best 😮 Feel better 😊
I’m in England,I’m type 2 diabetic and my Doctor prescribed Metformin,they made me feel so poorly,they are terrible tablets,luckily my Doctor changed them for me. Wishing Joe well
I have a funny story about a guy who worked with my ex who has T1D. His sugar dropped really low and he was out of it too. The guys at the job site were trying to get him to eat a candy bar to bring his sugar up and he was refusing. This went on for a good 10 - 15 minutes. Another worker came over to see what was happening and this particular worker was a good-looking guy with long blonde hair. Well, when the guy with the low blood sugar saw him he was so out of it he thought he was a sexy lady with long blonde hair and started flirting with him like crazy!! Asking the blonde guy to come over and kiss him and dance with him. It was hilarious!!! He finally did eat the candy bar and they told him what happened and he had zero recollection of it and called them all liars! Hahaha!!
It is funny sometimes when they get confused. Not in a mean way but you have to roll with it at the time. My mom used to say funny, crazy things too when her sugar would get messed up. She would laugh too when we would tell her what she said later.

You use the tiniest of strips and threads. It was so cool. Then you put the fabric together and made a tote bag. I also did with you. I get more compliments on that bag of threads and pieces of tiny scraps and zigzag over them . My granddaughter is a hair dresser now and asked me to make a big one like that. I love your old videos because you speak of your mom watching TV loud and you just didn't have the radiance about you , that you have now. Not knowing someday your life would change. Anyway. Glad Joe is feeling better. I have found that the pharmacist will usually go over your meds and your symptoms with you to help you figure out what's going on and maybe get with the doctor if they think something needs adjusted. I hope he gets it straightened out.

I have a very dear friend who has diabetes and she was driving home and ended up some place she had no idea where she was or how she got there. So before she leaves I have her check her sugar. Low blood sugar causes confusion and it’s very scary when it’s you. Been there done that. I keep bottles of pop in every room of the house just in case because it does sneak up on you. I once passed out while sitting on the toilet. Passed out and came to a couple of hours later half in the bathtub and half out. I had to laugh at that one, when it was over. Having something within arm’s reach has been a lifesaver for me.
As a diabetic, keep orange juice 8 ounces and add a teaspoon or tablespoon sugar to it for a really low blood sugar or that peppermint that melts in your mouth. I keep that in my purse always. I will hold my insulin and any pills for diabetes if my blood sugar is 70 until I eat.
That's the way I always do it. But I didn't want to deal with the batting and I didn't want just a backing of cotton because it's thinner than backing it with flannel. It's the batting part I hate. And I don't like the feel of batting. I don't like quilts. I like blankets. I just wanted a flannel backing and no batting but my tired ass did not want to go shopping and my wallet did not want to pay for flannel. But I broke down and did it with batting. It's almost done. I can't wait for it to be over, lol.
I forgot to ask you if you have ever tried getting Joe to drink orange juice when he gets low blood sugar? This video was great! I love to watch you cracking up!
I don’t have to try getting him to drink orange juice. It’s what it taught me to give him. Orange juice with lots of added sugar. We always have it in the fridge. We take it out with us. We swim in it, lol. After the orange juice, he eats something. He does everything he needs to do.
You are doing the right thing, allowing him to make his own decisions. As humans, we often make wrong decisions, but right or wrong, they're ours to make, no one wants someone else arbitrarily overriding our own decisions because they believe theirs is "righter" than ours. Besides, how long would you guys last as a loving couple if you were always fussing about changing each other's behavior?
And if he wants to do those things, I'll fully support him. If he does not want to do those things, that's up to him. Meds are meds, not miracles. They are only important to someone if they want to take meds. Proper food, water, rest... that's nice for everyone. But again, it's not up to me to tell him how to live. He would get sick of that really quick. I don't want him to tell me how to live either. And just a reminder... WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE. Let people live they way they want to live. That's the best way I can assist him.
Dear Darlene when Joe's sugar get that low try keeping Popsicles in the freezer or containers of frosting this makes it easier and faster to swallow.and brings the sugars up faster little at a time. Good luck to you both. Love your videos
My Dad had that same problem. With diabetes. Said funny things. My mother would say “stop that and answer me” and my dad would say “ the rooster crows at midnight” and my brothers and I would crack up and my mom would get so mad at us. So its been 15 years since we’ve he’s passed away and when we want to make mom laugh we say things like……”the rooster crows at midnight, …the eagle flies at dawn,…the zebra wears pajamas…” it just makes her laugh. So i really got that. Have a great weekend.
E3 on mine means not enough blood on the test strip or you put the blood on befire it was ready , you need to wait for the blood drop symbol to flash first ,or maybe it means E4 LMAO FUNNY
I had a stroke in June and was put on a helicopter to a big hospital. I was in ICU for 3 days. After I got home I was sent to many different kinds of doctors for tests. I still don’t know what caused the stroke so I completely understand Joe’s frustration. One of the doctors was a complete smart ass. I guess I will never know the cause of the stroke.
Darlene, my husband just went through that he had a stroke due to his low sugar but it’s weird how they snap out of it all of a sudden and then you think OK he’s back to normal and he get my husband went to sleep and he got up and he was lost very incoherent so please be careful because that may be a sign of a stroke coming on. It is the worst thing that can happen to your loved one. I’ll be praying for both of y’all. I’ve been watching you for a long time but I thought I was a subscriber and just subscribed today. You are too funny you and Joe sound like me and my husband. On the one with the mouth and he’s the quiet one and does anything to please me. So hang in there both of y’all and just enjoy life while y’all can.

I am diabetic, and have a freestyle libra machine, a device you put in your arm , then out a machine to the device, so easy, so worth maybe a look into. There are other machine. If my sugars go low, I say snd do odd things as well. It’s a most horrid feeling as you feel in control but your not. I find a glass of milk helps me ,also wipe bananas sweets, or dextrose sweets, I live with the fear of them going to low and I go into,a coma or something. So Joe I feel for you and how horrid it is, You take care.x
