- Sometimes it just all goes to plan. Chefskiss.
I know the video quality is struggling, I am trying everything I can to fix it.
I hope people are seeing an improvement in sound quality..

I'd recommend using the funds to add some interceptor cover in your other bases, if you leave those areas without cover for too long you risk the Panic getting too high.
Well done!
The time between Xenonauts videos is TO DAMN HIGH!!! :)
Looking forward to the base defense mission, if you are right :)
Oh this was perfect timing to release, to get to enjoy this Saturday morning, thanks @Phrosphor
Some people collect bottle caps. Some trading cards. Phros, on the other hand, collects imprisoned enemies and just... stores them. Cool.
Anyway, edits and spoilers below
5:25 Be nice if the maps were at least somewhat procedural, maybe like 4x4 standard tiles that are semi-randomly assembled or something, rather than being the same every time.
9:03 doesn't help that the friendlies tend to charge down aliens, ignore cover, run around randomly, and otherwise do their level best to die as quickly and as horribly as they can
17:52 This is why we use 3-rocket barrages. One hits the wall and does nothing, but the other two probably still maim or kill some aliens. I know, I know, ammunition and TU restraints. But consider. More rockets.
22:00 A cyberdisk? Wrong game, that
25:48 MARS units can open doors. Maybe not UFO doors. And good luck closing the doors again. But open nevertheless.
28:06 It's not new, you just skipped it last time. Also, I could be wrong, but I don't think diamonds are that dense, certainly not moreso than metal conventionally used for armor. Their hardness is due to lattice structure, not atomic density. I think.
31:08 So if there's fighters in the area, escort your dropship
32:20 if a single sentry gun can stop an alien assault on a base, that's a truly inept alien assault and a truly heroic automated turret
34:00 I think your research and production are still mostly fine-ish, but you definitely need to have better air coverage. Planes first, base modules later, base upgrades when you can.
36:02 GLORY TO THE SENTRY GUN
Just in time for my lunch
Edit:
i feel like your approach is improving. You showed your usual discretion in positioning, but I feel like you were better at being patient with when to fire and when to not.
Specifically Im refering to the way you handled the aliens on the left side of the map, starting at 17:20 . Was absoultely perfect.
Like normal, You would have any group of enemies surrounded with enough strategically placed xenonauts to where you could be aggressive and attack. But this time, I felt like you did better by only being hyper aggressive with one xenonaut (I think the way you used the shielded xenonaut in particular was perfect for that kind or hyperagression. Even with lower pistol damage and accuracy) while STILL holding the others in reserve with overwatch fire. Keeping matches burn where they were was perfect. Even if you had an angle, I still think the better choice was to hold because of that perfect line of sight for overwatch on both aliens.
Naturally, with that approach you run the risk of getting xenonauts hurt ( A live alien is a lethal alien), but I feel like its not really that big of a deal. (A hurt alien is less lethal on this milestone)
With the back up overwatch instead. the aliens were at a huge disadvantage. Can't move closer without running the risk of overwatch, which would be likely to kill them since they were already damaged. if they shoot, they are more likely to miss because of the damage they already took, and then again, get hit with return fire.
I think thats why, even though you missed about as much as you usually do, your victory was so overwhelming.
Of course, if you'd run into more mentarks, none of this would have mattered because even when they miss, they destroy cover. But yeah.
Thats my Ted Talk.
Basically, you're doing awesome lol
A lot of good points. I also think another factor in his favour was that most fire exchanges were its Sibellians in daytime and at fairly long ranges.
Unless it has changed in the never versions, Sibellians have lower accuracy in daytime, meaning that these kind of fairly long range reaction fire ambushes are not as risky as against other types of aliens. Especially as the now quite experienced squad of Xenonauts has a decent hit chance.
Regardless of how fun these type of games are to play, usually it's boring to watch someone play. Fortunately it's not the case in this channel, i love the pace you put in this, it's so engaging. Thanks
That mission went so smooth! Love it!
"All these angry white men are giving me more cash keep things going." I don't now why, but I found that funny.
Whaaa they baited the planes out of the base to land and attack it?!
Good mission!
Now reap the rewards and defend your base!
That last shooting was almost perfect.
That’s an exciting cliffhanger! I hope the interceptors will be fast enough! Also doesn’t bastion base have a turret?
Love it when a new episode pops up in my youtube feed : D well played Phros!
I think you should lay the foundations for interceptors in North America with two hangers at the Cube, and then maybe labs and living quarters in Shred 303
I believe you can transfer Airplane form Base to Base. Even if they lack the range.
To have at least two Fighter per base makes sense. Since they give you the opportunity to shoot down UFO's and therefor Ground missions.
In Xenonauts 1, you won the game in the Air.
Been loving every minute of this series!
But since you asked: what you should be doing is adding meat to the bones of your other bases! It's obvious you're streched thin on interceptors and combat teams. More and more UFOs are starting to show up, futher and further away from Bastion base.
Develop the Cube and Shred 303, get some interceptors there, perhaps a secondary Xenonaut team. This is a time of consolidation, not expansion.
Though you should probably start thinking of a South American base, the way the Ayyyys are starting to snoop around down there...
Looks to me like you should probably build a hanger and at least one interceptor in the base in the Americas, your getting a lot of activity there that's gone unchecked. Maybe after that work on getting a squad stationed there.
Good game 😸
Expanding combat operations is starting to seem like a priority - definitely could at least use interceptors at The Cube and Shred 303.
I don't know how the difficulty ramps up or whether it's worthwhile so maybe I'm off base here but it feels like only having one deployable ground team is eventually going to become a bottleneck, too.
In my experience, the LMGs are better when you set them up to watch a corridor you don't have friendlies in, not unlike if have a sniper on the ground. I don't find LMGs useful if they try to walk and shoot on the same turn. They're great for sitting tight for a few turns.
Thermal signature detected….. 🛸🛸🛸
Maybe my perception is off, but it seems like speedwise the interceptors should be able to get back to defend, it'd cut it super close though.
Nanotec Son
I am afraid one Sentry Gun will not be enough to defend a Base.
You have invested a lot of Money into them. Currently they are very undefended.
I'm here thank-you 😂👍
I ask you once again to try take civilian body back to base. Maybe you'll see some secret message
it would appear you can't, for some reason Civilians don't drop corpses (or, at the very least, not ones that can be picked up)
@@xeladas that makes me sad
