Sparks and Smoke Auto Electric. Dodgy wiring our specialty. Great video as always. Thank you and I'm sure glad it's you and Austin doing it and not me.
Man that vacuum system seems a touch over engineeed lol. Then the wiring, thats scarier than mine was in my 86 Dodge daily lol. Mine they cut the hot wire to the alt and left it open and unsecure. Then the scotch locks on the t-sig switch that had me pulling my hair out over brake light and signal issues lol. But I am sure you guys will get er figured out in no time. A quote from one of my old jobs resonates with me "If you dont have time to do it right then you must have time to do it over".
Hi from uk Mike @ SW👋👍 great job getting a start on wiring ( bet theres more to come tho😳) the air condition unit looks well and will look 👉cool👈 in the engine bay. Pleased you got the bits quickly for the lights to work midwest corvette really 👉shined👈 and pulled thru for you here ( sorry I cant help myself trying to make comments funny ) lol thanks for your time and be safe see you soon (ps I cant wait to see what austin comes up with on gmc logo challenge 👍)
Your 'Vette has suffered what Corvette Ben calls "Bubbafied". He's found wire nuts, twisted and taped, bad crimps, speaker wire, etc. Seems a common problem on C-3s.
Thankyou you for a great episode love the smoke machine it's going to look great but boy that wiring loom needs a bit of work thankyou again for a brilliant episode 🦌
The Big red cable It's a fuseable link, normally used for hot wire from battery to a after market sound system in vechials. The white box is balest resistor if the white thing goes out the car won't run.
Michael that white block is a ballist resistor fits a 6/8 cylinder mopar engine if blow it your car won’t start I’ll tell you firsthand cause I owed one Plymouth fury two 318 I’ve changed a few of them and the other one was a 6cylinder arc welder generator
I had to take my new C8 2023 vet to the dealership because the convertible top was not folding out all the way. The regular technicians couldn’t figure out what was the problem so they called in a specialist. The specialist said that I need a “Harness replacement”. Have to wait 7 business days
Great video! I will be saving this a referring back when I have to put my AC back in. I do have a question (I'm a first timer, LOL) I replaced the harness in my 1977. It's a manual and one thing I found out recently when I had the car at the repair shop for an inspection...No back up lights! So I go get the car back and I check the fuses, everything looks good, so I said ok it has to be the switch. I order the switch, get the car in the air and there's no switch! I mean at all! Get the complete switch wires and all and I start looking for the pink and green wires that it plugs in to. Can't find it! Now, I'm confused and a little bit like uh oh! Could it still be inside the car?! YEP.....sigh...all of that to ask, how do I get this plug on the outside of the vehicle so I can plug my back up lights in? SMH!!
I really like the thumb nail with all the wires all over you! 🤣 I would put on some clear coat on that corvette to protect the original paint. That's up to you.😉 Great Video!😎
Fun times with electric wires! Why would anyone who has any inkling for wire work put metal wires around the electrical wires?🤦This is going to be a really nice car when you’re done fixing everything! The work you did on the a/c box looks factory new now! Austin seems to be learning a lot and he seems like a good kid to be helping you with the various vehicles you’re working on! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Mike nice smoke job 🤣 How is Mr Jim's truck coming along have not heard anything on that project. Man you have to much going on I think I would be lost by now 😅🤣😂
I wouldn't be able to get through that without cussing. I mean, I get annoyed when I buy a car and someone has cut the factory wire harness. There are adapters people!
That's one big can of worms or a bunch of spaghetti you have to deal with. When I lived in Wisconsin we would Call it Polish Engineering... Moving to Texas it became "Mexican wiring" and believe me they have put the Polish stuff to shame here...
I love that smoke machine
It’s a handy tool!!
Hello randy shout out from Rensselaer Indiana and stay safe
What a wiring mess! And that's just the C3! It gets worse with the C4 and later! Thanks for the great video Santa!

Hey Mike love the Vette.
The hose from the blower motor to exchanger sends fresh air into motor to cool the brushes, and armature.
Good Seeing You & Austin Back At The C3 Corvette Michael, Can’t Wait To See The Next One, Be Blessed Good Sir..
Sorry to see the wiring problem’s. But, glad your on top of it. Thank you for sharing!

🤣🤣🤣that term is soooo accurate!!!
Hello Mike aka Santa's Workshop. The Corvette C3 is starting to come together. Can't wait to see it when it's finished and running.
One step at a time Mike. Keep pushing it towards the finish line.
At least I found somewhere to get parts!
Love that you have Austin G to help! Looks like a great guy!🤔🤙
He is a good kid!
Thankyou you for a great episode love the smoke machine it's going to look great but boy that wiring loom needs a bit of work thankyou again for a brilliant episode 🦌

It was hooked to the electric choke, overkill in my opinion.

Oh lord! When you told me about that wiring mess, you weren't kidding! Really can't wait for June now!
🤣😂😩
Austin is great help micheal, yea some people does things half A- to get done fast
This Corvette will be awesome! :-)
Such a shame the wiring was like it is . But at least it will be done correctly now its in Santa hands good video sir 🔧
Very good video you are doing a wonderful job and educational keep up the great work. Thanks for doing a wonderful job.
I look forward to see Corvette compleated !

@@SantasWorkshop Exactly. But my question to you, I only have 2,000 miles. Why would I already need a harness replacement ?? Thanks man
Loven the content mike! You're having to much fun 😆!

I would look under the console are and see if there is a pass through for it, if not you may have to run it through the big grommet in the firewall.
Great video Michael
A pre-made replacement harness is needed. There is no fixing the fixes. Safety over liability. Time vs money.
Sadly money is the issue on this one. I have way over spent on this as it is but the good thing is I can completely replace the wires they spliced!
@@SantasWorkshop ok santa
Thank goodness they are easy to trace from point to point!
I really like the thumb nail with all the wires all over you! 🤣
I would put on some clear coat on that corvette to protect the original paint. That's up to you.😉 Great Video!😎
If it was original I would agree but it’s been painted overall before.

That car is smoking a lot, not good for the health 😕. Love your videos. 👍❤️👍
My grandmother used to say, be it big or be it small do it right or not at all.
A wise woman indeed!
Your questionable item is a block resistor usually found on Mopar distributors
good job!
Hello Santa 🎅oh oh boy time fix Car Vroom Vroom Vroom
I don't know if this was on purpose but in the video thumbnail the corvette looks huge, which make you look kind of petite 😁😁
Definitely on purpose, it takes a LOT to make me look petite!
I'm so happy I converted to electric actuators
It is for the tack so you don’t get noise in the radio
Hey Mike nice smoke job 🤣 How is Mr Jim's truck coming along have not heard anything on that project. Man you have to much going on I think I would be lost by now 😅🤣😂
I have it ready to set the cab on so I can get the front frame rails finished out. That’s why I’m busting tail to get the vette off the lift!
That wiring is a cluster... "Yes Dear?" ... "I'll finish this comment in a minute, my wife's calling me"...😅
🤣🤣🤣
we have Co. in my home town called mid American motor works that sell after market corvette parts. please check them out
Ain't that wiring always a nightmare
Always!
Thanks for the reply Mr Mike 👍

Hey from Canada ont
Hello from Oklahoma USA!!!!
That is some of the worst wiring and solder work I've seen in 34 years of electronics. I was better than that when I was 14!
And from what I see completely unnecessary.
I agree and it looked like someone just throw the wires in there like they didn't care how it looked.
That wiring work looks like it is a load of fun! NOT! 👍👍
Definitely NOT!
