maxon always awesome..we used Maxon ROD 808 on the making album..and absolutely makes a perfect tone guitar..i wanna try maxon OD 808 too..thank u maxon for awesome guitar tone
Sorry, not in this vid - they were opening for AA and did not get a soundcheck. We're working on doing another vid w/Alex where he plays through his rig...
WholeLottaBulldog I'm a really proud owner of one aswell. i damn like the stuff the Dimarzios are sound tight and they are "shining" (thats the best word to describe them) i wanna buy another of this to my rig tuned to A (i tune it to Drop G ) but i love this guitar . i wanna make my own model and i guess the AW-7 will be the basic guitar for it. so i will buy one paint it to dark silverburst maybe change the D-Activator neck to a Liguiefire but not sure yet and add a killswitch or another volume and a real hipshopt bridge (the esp fixed bridge sounds cool but i'm a nerd and i like little things )but this guitar is solid as hell. you can't buy better for the price i tried a Synyster custom a schecter jeff loomis 7 string an ltd mh-417 and an ibanez 7 string aswell and the AW-7 won for me. :D for my tone and my music thats the best. with an EVH 5150 III or a peavey 6150 or with a mesa dual (i like to use it with a little Vox vt50 aswell its a solid amp for practice. the only problem is that they stop making them... so you can buy the new VT series but they are not as good as the old metal grilled ones :D ) but for the guitar buy one mate . best for rythm stuff and still good for leads. (the maple neckthru gives a shining sound for leads and the mahagony body gives a rich deap rythm tone .but its a simple stuff so no floydrose and stuff like that (wich i prefer.) ) Cheers mate.
If people are going to have interviews like this they should have 2 mics with them so they don't have to go back and forth with the one. Two guys one mic.
Why the fuck would you use any pedal at all in front of a Kemper? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of spending all that stupid money on a profiling amp? Idk man that just makes zero sense to me. I thought the idea of having a profiling amp, especially a Kemper (best of the best), was to avoid lugging around a bunch of pedals and effects and a big, bulky amp head. If someone can explain this to me, I'd appreciate it.
According to the artists that I've spoken with that are using 808's in front of Kempers and/or Fractals - they have told me that the analog pedal adds an element of organic warmth and a more tube-like feel and reactivity to these profiling/modeling units. Since both of these units have virtual pedals built-in, I have to assume they can hear/feel a difference. I think that's also a BIG thing to remember - it's not always about the sound, but a lot of times about the FEEL of the guitar/amp combination - a buddy of mine plays in a VERY big band and he was using Fractals for a while but then started adding tube amps back into his rig - he said the Fractal is reliable and easy to use, but doesn't really feel like a tube amp...
GodlykeInc I use my OD808 in front of a Digitech GSP1101. The processor has modeled overdrives but they don't sound or feel like the real thing. I simulate Peavey 6505, Mesa Double and Triple Rectifiers and Marshall JCM900. All of them improve alot with the pedal on.....
Hehehe thanks for giving my swirly Ibanez some spotlight time! :)
Damn uncle Ben you played with white chapel?
His guitar shoulda been called the "sAW" because... Well...
*_THE SAW IS THE LAW_*
Oh, Hank...
Proud to have an OD808 of my own!
Whitechapel opening for asking alexandria.. there's something wrong with that
Asking Alexandria is prob more mainstream then chapel. So its a win win. Chapel gets to steal the show and a.a. fans get a taste of chapel

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there were no audio clips illustrating his tone...

Ok, I just wanted to make sure the title "HEAR THEIR GEAR" wasn't misleading.
+littlewahoo27 all i heard is talk about maxon :(
+Orbsee If you go to the end, we also go through his guitars. :-)
+KernelxSanders Welcome to GodlykeInc's Hear Their Gear segments!
10 minutes without even one single "hearing his gear" moment...
Proud owner of the AW7
Congrats. How do u like it man? And the pickups?

Agreed - we usually have a LAV mic for the artist, but it was down for this interview...
Is the microphone even on? 😂
This scale lenght should be the same in the retail one... I can't understand why esp is always using 25.5 with EMG's 😣
No way! I live right by there
Microphone wasnt on bud. Using camera audio lol
See their gear
They should change the from "hear their gear" to "see their gear" because I'm yet to hear anything in these videos except talking.
