As a drummer (and faux guitarist) I've noticed with these metal bands, that the guitarists have the newest and sickest gear . The drummers...not so much.
probably because being endorsed by guitar companies is somewhat more easy, while drummers usually go for the cymbals then for a drum set , from what I've seeing drummers when they're endored they get a lot of cymbals and usually they get a nee drum set every 2-3 years if they can afford it
Yep! Being endorsed by drums companies it's like the best thing what a drummer can get but...for the metal drummers, we usually got just cymbals and drums's hardware. Not too much rig stuffs. Ok, we put some trigger and that's all .
What’s with bands using so much synthetic/emulating digital equipment these days? I understand that real tube amps and cabs and pedalboards are heavy but whatever...
Tube might sound about 1-5% better but bands are skint these days, it costs a lot to transport heavy gear around. If people appreciated bands like they used to and BUY their music then bands could afford to stretch the touring funds a bit further.
Real tube amps and cabs not only take way more trailer/stage space and effort to transport, but alot goes into maintenance and repairs, especially if an older and more valuable piece of gear. Myself and the other guitarist in my band switched to Kemper last year and damn what a great decision that was.

+Master Chief good point. I know getting "endorsed" is pretty tough these days for drummers. but still it's kinda WOMP WOMP haha

Spirituality1980 less to lug around and takes up less space
Digital equipment has come a long way so there's not a lot of reason to lug a tube amp around these days unless you're really set in your ways

Bands like these make no money, every bit counts
