Hi Dr., Thank you for all your helpful and fabulous information in regard to our skin no matter the age. Question? Are hyaluronic acid injections worth in your face and neck for sagging skin???
Even though it's a repetitive message-it's necessary, even for people like me who have been committed to a similar routine like this for years-it's reinforcing my good skincare habits. I did have a period when I rationalized not wearing sunscreen because, you know I was in doors most of the time. I was noticing pigmentation and hearing it AGAIN reminded me of my commitment. Wear broad spectrum SPF everyday! So, keep saying it, Dr. Karim!!
my experience: i am 58 years old. when i was in Bangkok, Thailand 4 years ago I noticed that people offer their seats to me. In thailand, seats are offered to old people. I started my skin care routine because I recognize that physical look has a weight in job marketability. Now, people say that I don't look my age. they say that i look i am onlly in my 40s. what are the must in my daily routine? daily multivititamin with biotin, fish oil, 20g collagen, peptide. for morning skin care routine: 10% vitamin c serum and pf 50++++ sunscreen after cleansing. night time routine: double cleansing with micellar water and foam, tretinoin 0.05, facial moisturizer and i apply petroleum jelly on my lips.
I suggest you watch this video to get my recommendations on the essential ingredients for an effective skincare routine ua-cam.com/video/sPMj48vjK1U/v-deo.html
I've had great skincare & compliments thru the years that I look younger. HOWEVER it's inevitable that everything UNDERNEATH starts falling! Nothing but a face-lift can fix that. It's very disheartening 😢
I know…I advise my clients to not only implement an active skincare routine add Red LED and Wave .05 microcurrent if a real face lift like Dr Karam specializes in is not currently an option.
I've heard lots of compliments over the years but the inevitable has eventually happened. I'm fit and skinny so I've recently started to look gaunt. No amount of skincare can change it, unfortunately.
Dr, thank you for representing the epitome of aesthetic beauty and perfection. Your dedication to facial surgery and personal skin care is truly appreciated. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy and look forward to all of your videos. Thank you so very much. A fan.
I use Niacinamide and Azealic Acid for texture.I am 70 and it has made a huge difference in trxture.I don't use Retin A because I love sun. But maybe its not too late. I've had great success with microdermabrasion too
There are also bone changes. They affect face aging. No skin care can fix that. Also facelift can’t. In my experience niacinamide dries out the skin. I’m 52. I’m avoiding niacinamide in a big way! Might be ok 2%, but unless your skin is oily, what mature skin usually isn’t, avoid it, especially on the area with less or no oil glands, like around the eyes and neck. You’ll thank me later 😂. Also hyaluronic acid in dry environment dries the skin. Avoiding sun and healthy food is first!
If you are experiencing dryness while using a product containing niacinamide, it may be due to other ingredients in the formulation, or it could be a reaction to other products in your skincare routine. However, on its own, niacinamide is generally non-drying and beneficial for maintaining hydration. We're in agreement on the healthy food and sun protection!
@@dramirkaram Thanks so much for your reply. I appreciate it very much. I’ve tried different products. If they contain niacinamide, they dry my skin. Very few products with it are ok for me, probably because of a very low percentage. I’ve made a huge mistake once by buying an eye cream from cerave, with niacinamide second on the list of ingredients (that’s probably why I didn’t see it, as I wouldn’t buy it). Within few days, my upper eyelids were dry as a desert, crusted. It took me 2 weeks (!) to get them back to normal. Besides also under eye gets “crumpled”, doesn’t look plumped and juicy, cheeks dehydrated, chin and nose are pilling with flakes… It’s just a no no.
Thank YOU for not only sharing but mak8ng good skin care easy. I've been using TRIFECTA 2-3 × a day for the last year. I especially love the look of my skin in the morning. Nice work!!!
Hello Dr. Karam! I am 65 and started using skin care products about two months ago. I am cleansing twice daily, an over the counter Retinol product, a vitamin C cream (am), and moisturizer with Niacinamide, plus La Roche Posay moisturizer with SPF 30 during the day. I am finding that I am getting acne breakouts on my forehead and nose now. Should I add a chemical exfoliating acid to try and keep that under control? Clay mask? Thanks much!
You might try to introduce an exfoliant like the Polish Enzymatic exfoliator. If you're still experiencing breakouts after several months of using a new product it might not be right for your skin.
I’m 52 and started great skin care about a year ago with tretinoin, glycolic acid , collagen etc. My skin is now similar to what it was in my early 30s, in fact it’s never been better ❤
@@amadablam7 I’ve used several many brands. I found one of the more popular & expensive brands did not work for me (the only one I’ve been disappointed with - Vital Proteins!) . @@amadablam7 I replied but it vanished so I’ll retry. I’ve been using collagen hydrologised peptides for over 10 years, skincare for 1 yr. Multi collagen peptides are the way to go - Revive multi collagen is great , the only brand I used which I was disappointed with was vital proteins in my opinion it’s not worth the hype for the extra price. I’ve been using trifecta for four months now. How often should you use chemical peels, micro needling, etc? You say to be consistent but how often is that. When you have in office procedures do you need to stop using all or part of the trifecta?

Hi please can I ask a question and get your advice about skin and ageing. If you have to go on a hormone blocking treatment due to breast cancer does this treatment age your skin?
Yes, hormone-blocking treatments for breast cancer can potentially cause skin aging effects. While hormone-blocking treatments are essential for managing breast cancer, it’s important to counteract these side effects with a skincare routine that includes hydration, gentle exfoliation, and active ingredients that boost collagen production, such as peptides, retinoids, and antioxidants. Regular sunscreen use is also key to preventing further damage. Best of luck and sending good thoughts your way!
Thank you. I do already use all that kind of skincare and I take supplements and collagen so hopefully it won’t have too much of an effect on my skin then. Thank you for the reply and the information
This isn't something I recommend. For anti-aging, it's better to stick with active ingredients that are specifically formulated for long-term, topical use and offer similar collagen-boosting benefits with fewer risks.
Can you please say qnything about the Alma clearlift and if is worth and if it helps tighten skin also of it as well causes fat loss in skin or not.thank you
@dramirkaram yes thanks look it up since clearlift claims that they help even with melasma but i agree on your point regarding lasers for tightening skin i believe supplements, sun protection amd skincare are the most important but i did try clearlift and wasnt bad at all but dont know about melasma or tightening i didnt see strong improvement but im 33 and they say its for older skin to see more effect, its clearlift alma laser harmony xl pro
I am on a good routine with retinal 1%, peptides, ceramides, vit c thd, sunscreen. My skin is failing every day. Wrinkles are forming in tones. Nothing works. I am 48 and on HRT. I am loosing faith in skincare. Any ideas?
My advice is to stick with your solid routine. Results take time and consistency is key. Make sure the products you're using are high quality and effective. If you’ve already been following this routine for a while without seeing improvement, it could be time to make a slight tweak or additional treatment that can make all the difference. Don't lose faith-skincare is a long game!
I’m using all those actives as well. I found that getting a C02 laser treatment to face and neck really helped boost the collagen and greatly improved the smoothness of my skin
Hydroquinone is considered one of the most effective treatments for melasma and is generally safe when used as directed by a healthcare professional. To minimize risks, hydroquinone can be alternated or combined with other treatments like Trifecta which includes retinoid and antioxidants (like vitamin C), which can enhance its effectiveness while reducing potential irritation. If you're using hydroquinone for melasma, it’s important to consult with a dermatologist to ensure you’re using the right concentration and following a safe treatment plan.
@dramirkaram Thanks for your reply. This is a 4% concentration given by my dermatologist. I have read some studies that there is an increased cancer risk. I have melasma on both arms.
My first suggestion is to start with a solid skincare routine like the Trifecta, combined with good sun protection. For additional help, Botox is highly effective for smoothing the area, and you can explore microneedling or laser treatments for more lasting improvements.
