Magnifica Banda, la escucho y cada dia me gustan mas, Ya no existen bandas asi, es una lastima. Aguanten los ´80 CARAJO. Saludos desde Buenos Aires Argentina. Band magnificent, and every day I hear I like more, bands are no longer so, it is a shame. Hang the 80 CARAJO. Greetings from Buenos Aires Argentina.
Fuckin brilliant. Reminds me of Brixton Academy December 11+12 1990. Absolutely best gigs I've ever been to, and i've been to hundreds!! Was like a spiritual experience seeing The Mission.
the Mission UK opened up a show for Robert Plant in Dallas TX years ago... and they sold me on a sound I had not heard so the next day I went out and bought the album Children.
I have always thought there was a real opportunity to make a fantastic video to this song. I always imagined it starting off with a knight walking up a dimly lit spiral staircase inside tall tower and then running to the very top and out onto the roof to shout out over a massive crowd of followers! Then, during the last heart-beat chant of "give me, give me, give me, deliverance...." it fades into a man dying in bed to give out his last breath with the word "Me....."
still remember staying up late watching mtv's 120 minites waiting to see this video for the first time it was played on u.s. tv , still & forever an epic moment 🖤 [ K T F ]
Absolute Epic song and video from the Mish. Have loved Wayne Hussey's voice for as long as I can remember, it's second to none, and this brings back some great memories.
I am a big fan of English music scene in the eighties. Of course I love both bands, but the best was when they were together. I must admit that today The Mision still sounds great. In my country, Serbia, The Sisters have performed a few times recently. It is no longer a band that used to be ...
que gran grupo de lo mejor del rock gotico los fui a ver en uruguay alla por fines delos 80 al cilindro tenia 12 años y no me querian dejar entrar. nunca los olvidare
The frontman is Wayne Hussey. The Mission UK was formed after the breakup of the original Sisters of Mercy group. Eldritch continued with various iterations of the Sisters.
Saw them back in the 80's at The Institute, in Digbeth, Birmingham (UK), and many live gigs later, they STILL rate as one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Note perfect, superb performance. Must, must see them again next year. :)
Esta banda formo parte de mi adolescencia y este tema de los mejores sin duda, fueron muy buenos en un tiempo, luego perdieron el horizonte, pero les guardo un cariño especial!!
@blacknganga the music of the first album of SOM was made 80% or more by Wayne Hussey...so the Mission was not a derived was Wayne's proyect with his sound rocker....SOM followed more industrial gothic sound, wayne was the greatest influence on the gothic music, according to a magazine

That's right. There is one song by The Mission that sounds a bit like metal at the start. However if you want a gothic rock band that has a metal feel to it, Fields of the Nephilim certainly has that feel in my view. ;) lol
@emile235 Yeah, the album 'Sophisticated Boom Boom' - the one with Wayne - really pointed to what he went on to do with the Sisters and the Mission; those guitar riffs couldn't be played by anyone else! Copied yes, never mimicked!
You listen very good music, since you only have 20 years. I thought you were older. I visited your channel. It is excellent. Compliments from Vladimir, Serbia.
@clearviewmind Yeah, The Minds were VERY original, weren't they?! They had 4 good albums in them, and not that many people have realised just how great they are/were. Promised you a miracle, la da da da da da.
@blacknganga I've actually been listening to Street Fighting Years all week as it goes. Man, that album has come back to life for me, I love it. It was my fave album up until I heard Gods own Medicine in 1990. The Mish were different. I like different.
when was the last time you saw a performer crowd walk. today's performers are too distant (in other words fake). I saw these guys with Balaam in Encinitas CA. Never forget it. Paganism, real Rock, rustic beachside town, what could be better.
@blacknganga I guess you're right, they ended up being very different to how they sounded in the early 80's to when they became a giant band on the world stage in the late 80's. I loved Simple Minds, and I shouldn't of compared The Mish to them or U2 or INXS for that matter. The Mish were a different cat anyway, whereas the other 3 you could put together as mainstream super-rock bands. Music for the masses.
I checked them out. They're fantastic! Can work on their image though..but overall, they sound legit. Thanks for the mention. I'll be listening to more of their tunes.
No this song is based on the The Sword of Shannara series , tis a classic collection of books that tell an awesome fight between a good and evil the elfs, humans goblins, and any tother fuuckin demon / demigod ...........!!! As soon as i heard the lyrics i knew a few of the tales .....!! Phhhh tis clasic 80s student reading shame i dint get collage had to start work , but read most of the saga and its awesome . Try reading some of the books as it all falls into place ..!!!
@TheMicho70 How would multiple sclerosis play any part in what I said? If you are suffering that condition, my condolences, good luck, but is that your answer to everything? If you posted "I think murder is right" would no-one be allowed to disagree with you?
A fine song but I am not sure it reminds me of the Sisters of Mercy in any way....I really think that Gary Mark had much more of an influence on the sound of SOM than Wayne Hussey ever did...still, an interesting piece of 80's music. Btw, it seems over the top to suggest Wayne wrote 80% of the first SOM album...

When ever I hear this song I think of being a child. Actually this band is one of my strongest childhood memories XD love this song!
Fuckin brilliant. Reminds me of Brixton Academy December 11+12 1990. Absolutely best gigs I've ever been to, and i've been to hundreds!!
Was like a spiritual experience seeing The Mission.
Brixton used to an amazing place in the early 90’s .
the Mission UK opened up a show for Robert Plant in Dallas TX years ago... and they sold me on a sound I had not heard so the next day I went out and bought the album Children.
They opened for Sisters of Mercy years ago in Prague, and this was the song they used in an ad for that night

The song created for gods! Greetings from serbia!
this is on my playlist forever.......
Mate, this is not exactly metal, and it is CERTAINLY NOT emo. This is gothic rock/post punk/new wave. And it is BEAUTIFUL.
Best song The mission ever released. Total knock out.
Saw them in Birmingham last night, still as good as ever! Loved the Black Tower nod too :) Touring next yeat again - can't wait!!!
One of the best rockband ever...
i'd have to agree with that, their massively under rated.

Believe in magic
Believe in lore, legend and myth
And the hand that guides
In the cunning if hope
In the weaving of dreams
And the lady of the lake
Takes my hand and leads me
To the holy isle
And the fairy rings
And the circles of stone
Forever and again
Give me, give me, give me, deliverance
Brother, sister, give me, give me
Deliverance, deliver me
Surrender
To the wisdom of age
And the spirits of time
Remember
Our souls entwined for eternity
And the healing hand of the fairy queen
Will come to all who have faith in her
And the apple tree will bear it's fruit
In the gardens of Avalon
Forever and again
Give me, give me, give me deliverance
Brother, sister, give me, give me
Deliverance, deliver me
Give me, give me, give me, deliverance
Brother, sister, give me, give me
Deliverance, deliver me
Let me sleep for a while
And dream of Avalon
And the Beltane fires
And a silent kiss steals away
Into the mist and out to the lake
Where the sword will rise again
From the water into the hands of the chosen one
The righteous one
Forever and again

You listen very good music, since you only have 20 years. I thought you were older. I visited your channel. It is excellent. Compliments from Vladimir, Serbia.
the best
@clearviewmind - They never shat over Simple Minds, no way Jose - no way. Still this is one of The Mish's best songs, very anthemic and powerful.
@clearviewmind Yeah, The Minds were VERY original, weren't they?! They had 4 good albums in them, and not that many people have realised just how great they are/were. Promised you a miracle, la da da da da da.

Give more bands like this.
@Criddington Sophisticated Boom Boom? oh no there was earlier stuff than that. didnt you know?
And there would be music, a sound that existed even before silence, and then God created the planet earth
my mission brothers and sisters, drop a search for soror dolorosa, they are new and great, as mission was... ;)
love love
The Mission!!!
the mission is the best
God, I absolutely LOVE this song!!^_^

I forgot what a cool tune this is :)
@Criddington yes and particularly "The Stranger"
top tune love it :))
I checked them out. They're fantastic! Can work on their image though..but overall, they sound legit. Thanks for the mention. I'll be listening to more of their tunes.
@63cmn They are playing in October at Brixton Academy!
This is the guitar that made the 1st Sisters stuff gothic kings...after that they turned to a Pop band with Floodland...
No this song is based on the The Sword of Shannara series , tis a classic collection of books that tell an awesome fight between a good and evil the elfs, humans goblins, and any tother fuuckin demon / demigod ...........!!!

@thelastgodcl I never thought The Mission had "It". All a good band needs is a leader with charisma like Eldritch and they're set.
A Classic
brilliant song ,the mission is one the best besides the cult group of the eighties and nineties years
classic!
@Criddington well I remember DOA bringing out their frst EP,. Yep they were alright.
THAT GUITAR is a babe!
♥♥♥
Very well put :D
Oh, yes.... check our videos.... on Spotify you can also hear our cover of Deliverance from our new album CAYNE!!!
adoro essa banda e foda!!!!
@Creightonamore the alternative playlist i created covers lots of alternative genres, what i will do is add goth rock, thanks for this, x
That someone told me that I would talk with the person, younger than 20years, who knows Andrew -Wayne story ... I would not believe him. :-)
Love this!! ^_^
Andrew Eldritch would be turning in his ditch to hear this pap.
Original is always better!
@clearviewmind I shan't be arguing my point any further, good sir/madam.
waooowww ...they are the brothers of Ian Astbury's Cult!
Nice :)
@TheMicho70 How would multiple sclerosis play any part in what I said? If you are suffering that condition, my condolences, good luck, but is that your answer to everything? If you posted "I think murder is right" would no-one be allowed to disagree with you?
for any Americans watching who wanna replicate this........dont bother
I think that 1 people missed the right button ...
@TheMicho70 Couldn't agree more! Still got all their albums and their limited run signed single 'Stay With Me' :)
A fine song but I am not sure it reminds me of the Sisters of Mercy in any way....I really think that Gary Mark had much more of an influence on the sound of SOM than Wayne Hussey ever did...still, an interesting piece of 80's music. this doesn't fall under fair use..... your disclaimer doesn't change anything either even if it was ... this is coming from a entertainment lawyer
WTF?!?!? This was on VH1?
@TheMicho70 You are right, sorry. I thought your first post was sarcastic, which it wasn't. Sorry. Good luck.
