It's crazy to think that people think these home are affordable. 1700sqft for $350,000. That is crazy expensive for not much space. That is $205 a sqft. These homes are still expensive. Before homes where $100-$120 sqft. It looks like your posting for all the upgrades in the house and not so much the sqft.
@@SK-lf1cr but not really a price are adjusted based on salary. California has much higher salaries compared to Texas so the home look cheaper on paper, but our salaries are much lower in Texas. So for texans, these homes are still expensive and rates are going back up to 7%.
You bring up a valid point-home prices have definitely increased significantly over the years, especially with the inclusion of upgrades in model homes. The cost per square foot is a key factor, and it's something we always recommend buyers evaluate closely when considering their options. We'll keep working to highlight both base prices and upgraded features to give a clearer picture of what’s included. Thanks for the insight!
Wow! To think that just in 2023 I bought a brand new Gordon Hartman two-story 2000 sq/ft 5- bedroom, 3 full bath home in San Antonio for 125k. When I hear a 1700 Sq/ft home is selling for 350k blows my mind. I was thinking of downsizing to a smaller home, but I would be paying three times what I paid for my house for smaller house. I’ll just stay in my big old house. Thanks, bot no thanks.
That’s a huge difference! The market really can vary depending on location, and it’s surprising how prices can skyrocket, especially in areas with more demand. It sounds like you got a great deal in San Antonio. Downsizing can often feel like you're getting less for more, which is frustrating when prices seem inflated compared to what you paid in the past. If you’re comfortable in your current space, staying put might be the best choice, especially if the prices for smaller homes just aren’t making sense. Plus, your big house likely has plenty of room for you and any future plans! Is there anything in particular you're looking for when you think about downsizing, or are you just not sold on the idea yet?
That's awesome! Cypress is such a great area, especially around Huffmeister with its mix of established neighborhoods and newer developments. Do you still visit the area, or are you exploring other parts of Houston now?
@houstontexasliving33 No, not right now. Everyone has told me how much it has changed. Houston has really gotten too big for me. I'm a country girl now lol. I live just outside of Lubbock. I heard Cypress is huge now. I lived there between 1990 and 2004. I wish I still had the house though. I sold my house for 114,500 . You can't get that anymore 😂.
Great questions! Tax rates, HOA fees, and insurance vary by community and home, so we’ll include those details where possible in future videos. For a quick estimate, with 20% down on a $400k home at today’s rates, your monthly payment (including principal, interest, taxes, and insurance) might be around $2,800-$3,200 depending on the area. Let us know if you'd like a deeper breakdown for a specific community!
Great question! The 99, also known as the Grand Parkway, is a major highway that serves as a toll road around the Houston area. It’s super convenient for getting around quickly! Glad you liked the first house-it really does make excellent use of its space. 😊 Let us know if you have any other questions!
Thanks for watching and sharing your feedback! We strive to give accurate pricing and details, but we’ll double-check to make sure we're spot-on in future videos. We also aim to showcase a variety of homes with different finishes to suit all budgets. Let us know what you're looking for, and we can tailor our tours to fit!
Love the informative videos, love the energy, love the humor, love the homes, but I don’t love JOJO cutting Jackson off every time he’s talking. It’s giving very noticeable, very ADD, very I can’t wait my turn to talk I’m 5!!
Thank you for the love and support-we’re so glad you enjoy the videos and the homes we showcase! We appreciate the feedback about our on-camera dynamic too. JoJo and I have great energy together, and we’ll work on making sure everyone gets their turn to shine. Your input helps us improve-thank you for sharing!
The commercial development in Elyson is known as Elyson Commons at Bear Creek. It’s designed to provide residents with convenient access to shopping, dining, and other services. The development continues to grow, so you can expect even more businesses and amenities to pop up in the future. Have you had a chance to visit it yet?
Bridgeland and Elyson are about 15-20 minutes apart by car, depending on traffic. Both are located in the northwest Houston area, near the Grand Parkway (Highway 99), making it easy to travel between the two. Let us know if you'd like a comparison of the two communities! 😊
The payment on this home is like 3x what a similar sized home would yield a few years ago. This isnt a good deal. And you have a commute over an hour into the city.
You're right-rising prices and higher interest rates have changed the affordability landscape significantly. We always encourage buyers to weigh the costs and commute times carefully when making decisions. If you'd like, we can explore options in different areas that might better align with your needs. I get it! It can definitely feel like a lot when the price tag is high for a smaller space. Sometimes, homes with higher prices may include features or finishes that drive the cost up without necessarily offering more square footage. It's always important to balance what you're paying with the value you're getting in terms of space, layout, and functionality. Would you prefer to look at homes with more space for the price, or are you focusing on a specific feature you'd like to see more of in these homes?
Thanks for sharing your perspective. We aim to showcase neighborhoods with potential for families and individuals seeking great homes. It’s important to research the area, including schools, amenities, and safety, to find what aligns with your needs and preferences.

Yeah that's a little bit too much for that small space
I get it! It can definitely feel like a lot when the price tag is high for a smaller space. This looks like a future low income family neighborhood with high crime 😢
