My heart did not stop at a standard rate turn.
Mine did! ❤️
@@frankgallagher5786 - Hi Frank, I think you will have to ask DISOP tv what he/she considers is a standard rate turn.
@@frankgallagher5786 90 degrees i wanna say
@@frankgallagher5786 About 30 degree bank but it varies with the speed, in the 20 to 30 degree range. The idea is to turn 3 degrees of heading per second, thereby completing a 180 degree turn in 1 minute.
Jajaja!!! It was !!!
My heart didn't stop watching this normal 30 degree angle of bank turn. Other than the silly title, great video!
Agreed 100%
LOL Seriously heart stopping standard rate turn!!!!
The dramatic title is just to get views, 'clickbait'.
My heart had already stopped after seeing 747
It definitely is a scary turn for those of us scares of flying. I know that flying on United from IAD to MUC was pretty chil. But flying Lufthansa on a A320 from Muc to Berlin was scary as shit. I swore the pilot must have been a Luftwaffe reservist with how aggressively he made his turns. Both the 320s I rode within Germany seemed more extreme than the United flight to Germany, the Lufthansa flight back to the US, or my smaller United connecting flights within the US.
Nice video, that was a takeoff from runway 19L at Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL/ENGM) for those who are wondering.
Thanks! I was wondering.
I was just going to ask!
Me too, thanks
Are you one of the pilots in the vid?
@@angellas.1314 No, but I am a pilot, and Norwegian, so I know this airport well.
Graet cameraman!
Loved how he kept the camera leveled with the horizon!
Safe flights!
It was probably mounted on a gimbal, they're pretty popular in the consumer market these days. ;)
i would of liked to see the ground on the left
@@SwedeSpeeder A gimbal will not keep the camera level with the horizon, it has to be a gyro mount.
@@karhukivi horse shoes and hands grenades, bud. 😂
Great comment!
Hi Captain. Loved seeing what you see as you fly down the runway.
The hum of the engines after takeoff…amazing.
Beautiful, snowy wonderland beneath you…awesome left turn…wow…loved it ❤️😊
I have such great respect for pilots. In my opinion this is one of the hardest jobs someone can have.
I agree with you Fatima, it's a shame that some passengers don't seem to acknowledge this!
Highest paid also
flying is a passion for pilots...it's joy for them.
the computer does mostly all the work. they just have to program the plane and babysit it. its pretty easy actually once you learn it. just requires alot of consentration. IMO the air traffic controller is one of the most hectic jobs and high stress. ATC is where the respect is due.
Hmm, what about a spinal surgeon?
I was in the jump seat when a 747 we had in test took off out of Glasgow Montana in a heavy snowstorm. It was really cool as was breaking into the sunlight. Beautiful. Also a 747 is a great snowblower. It's how we kept the ramp clear of snow and ice. Fun times.
nice views . stunning .. love the 747 .. my father used to do the wiring in them in the 70's for boeing .. my mother also worked for Boeing (service bulletins) and i worked for a sub contractor in Washington state
A lovely video thank you Captain, loved seeing the snowy scenes and the sun shining! ❤✈️🌞
Wow that was beautiful. Anytime I’ve flown, whenever the plane banks sharp like that it always took my breath. I felt like we were going to slide out of the sky. 😂 Fly safely Captain. God bless you always. Love from the USA.
It would if he didn't bank.
@@austindarrenor It's a freighter. Wouldn't do that w PAX.
@@robharris5467 It would be scary as hell to bank that hard, wondering if you were going to go inverted 😵💫
@@austindarrenor I agree.
My nephew took me up flying in a four seater Cessna. Any time we banked I was waiting for the door to open and me to slide out.
Oh my gracious, beautiful take off & view!. Love the engines revving
Like sitting in the family SUV, starting down the highway, changing to a formula1 race car, lifting TONS of aircraft off the ground and shooting skywards!
The beauty of flight NEVER ceases to amaze me!✈️💕🇨🇦
OMG!!! You were right!! MY HEART STOPPED WHEN HE MADE THAT STANDARD TURN!!!!
Right?!? Apparently "heart-stopping 30° bank" doesn't get the views like he hoped.
I lived on the flight path just four miles from Dublin Airport . We saw the original jumbos flying over most days. An amazing sight and sound. We used to run into the garden to watch them.
TY for sharing. I have many fond memories (as a passenger) of my Transatlantic flights aboard Boeing's 747. Happy times...
Everyone is so used to the gentle and slow acting motions of the plane that any deviation is an amazement! These planes can do a lot more than what the general public experiences!
Beautiful takeoff and great video as always, captain! Hope you had a safe flight! Sun above and the snow below look so good!!
Enjoyed it immensly as always ! good day, Captain
Awesome to watch that sharp turn, beautiful scenery outside.
Awesome video, well done! Would you be okay with me featuring this takeoff in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description. Thanks!
My Heart Rate Picked Up JUST WATCHING RUN-UP TO TAKE-OFF !!! I *
LOVE* THAAATTT ! ! ! THE POWER & THE GRACE OF IT ALLLLL . . . . ! ! ! 💪💪💪👍👍👍
Stunning capture! And amazing that the camera was able to expose in a way that both the instrument panel and the runway was perfectly exposed.
The snow…beautiful! Stay safe Captain
Absolutely beautiful!! Don't know where you were, but the sights were amazing!!❄❄ Awesome roll out to take off!! Finally got to see what is meant by '30 second run up' -- as I hear that a lot on PANC flights. Now I actually got to experience it -- with the best crew!! Impressive heading turn by FO! Excellent teamwork!! Thanks for sharing part of your day with all of us!! Stay safe out/up there!! Blessings and cheers -- ALWAYS!! 💕✈✈💕
You like exclamation marks, don't you?
@@markfox1545what're you, a party pooper?
Oh Poo!
@@markfox1545hey if she's happy that's all that matters!
Beautiful, especially the sun through the windshield! It reminds of one of my favorite scenes from The Empire Strikes Back: the Millennium Falcon entering Cloud City.
What makes this turn so awesome is that it's done with a 747, if it was a Gulfstream G550 that would be just another hard left bank...thanks for sharing this great video with us all, best to you always...👍👍✈
Superb camerawork. Really captures the dynamism of the cockpit
フラップを上げながら、エルロンでバンクを取るB747、最高にカッコ良いです❤
Always so amazing to lift off. Such a great video.
Thank you for sharing your flight here.
My family and I sat on a plane in Florida for almost 45 minutes because the captain, nor the co-pilot had showed up. I'm assuming their golf game ran a bit later than usual or maybe they wanted to have a cocktail before flying...who knows. (dont say anything...it's happened and you know it). Everyone was sweating, it was 8 pm in the evening and these two finally board the plane. Everyone starts clapping and several people were saying things "its about time, or finally." One british dude actually yelled out "where the bloody hell have you been?" It was not long afterwards that a very friendly voice came over the intercom, introducing himself and he promptly said, "everyone make sure your seatbelts are fastened tight, cuz we're going to fly it like we stole it." This was a Delta flight for anyone thats curious. The entire plane erupted with laughter. It was great. Had a wonderful flight, but we sure deserved it.
Their flight was late ….. how else do you think pilots get to the airport ?
Something tells me there's some exaggeration going on here. Passengers are not allowed to board a plane until the flight crew is on board.
So awesome ❤. I love hearing the engines of this beauty.
So cool!!!! Can’t wait to start my endeavor as a pilot. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing the video Captain!
I really love these cockpit angles for your uploads, super awesome, hope you are well and doing fine...good to see you.
Queen of the sky
Good job!
It just floats off the ground. Love them.
Those dramatic throttle handoff's are pretty funny.
Long live the 747.
BRILLANT Thank you...! 👏👏👏
👍
Terrific video 👍 liked the 30 sec run up & what about that bank angle absolutely beautiful ✈️✈️ have a great day & take care dear Captain ✈️♥️😊
I know that turn, it's usually when I'm making the sign of the cross 😅. Safe travels to you and the crew.
That is an amazing video , Thank you so much ! The 747 Will always be the most beautiful airplane ever put into the skies ! I would love to ride in one , And I most likely won't ever at my age, and situation !
Great communication between you and the 1st Ofc., Capt. As a retired 1st responder great communication with your partner is essential.
TEAM WORK makes the DREAM WORK! Corny but true.
What a Beauty ! I Love You Guys 👍😎👍A salute !
Great Video Captain 👨✈️
Cool video !Keep them coming !God bless you and your crewman. Thx for the time in making the video for us in you tube land. 🛫😊👍👍👍
Hi Thomas, It’s been a while since I’ve touched base with you. I hope all is well in New Jersey with you. Hope you missed the recent nor’easter. Looks like I’ve escaped snow for this winter. Never had to shovel even once. Looking forward to Spring 2023. How’d you like that left bank in the video?
@@WayCoolDog Hey Carol ! Yes it's been some time since I text you. Sorry. Yeah same here in Bayonne New Jersey. No snow at all. So far. The winter has been mild. Thank God ! Happy St Patrick's Day to u and your family. I enjoy the Captain's video's

This Capt is a pro.
Just highways in the sky. Which I guess would still be called high-ways 🤔 Tons of respect for you guys, coming from a nervous flyer
Sorry to hear that your heart stopped. Will you be in recovery long?
Wonderful!!
Gran bel video. Grazie!
Captain, Thanks for sharing some of the best cockpit shots.
Keep bringing it and safe flying 😊!
Really nice comment.
My heart did not stop, but my ears felt like they were going to pop. First time I've felt that watching youtube.
"I just wanted to say good luck. We're all counting on you."
😉
Relax, We're on Instruments.
and don't ever call me "shirley" again!
Amazing!
Amazing! Having flown on the 747-400 over the years, I’ve never noticed the 30 second spool up shown here…it’s always just been idle to takeoff in a few seconds, certainly not 30 seconds.
The 30 second run up was probably due to cold temperatures.
Perfect!
Hardly heart stopping .... But beautiful
Thank you
It’s amazing these machines fly
Very nice sharp turn, getting out of dodge in a hurry. Great flying skills. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome!!!!!
Something of that size shouldn't be that graceful but somehow it is. Well done gentleman!
Awesome video.
This was absolutely beautiful!! I love the Queen and seeing her from this perspective is always so enjoyable! I wish there would be flights for pax, who love flying, that would do that degree of bank!! Amazing! The FO did a beautiful job! Wishing you safe flights always! 🙏✈️
What a beautiful machine.
Best simulator I’ve ever seen.
HELL YEAH.....now that is a turn...QUEEN OF THE SKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanx for the information
I took the ride.
Thanks!
god I love the 747, especially the 400...
hi from australia thank you
That has to be a cool job.
That was enjoyable.
Damn that is AWESOME!! That horizon is incredible best seat in the house!!
👍
It does like a sharp turn
Nice 35° Captain !
A thing of beauty.
Thats a beautiful takeoff! But im tired of snow! Im ready for summer!! Stay safe Captain! 😁✈️✈️
Impresionante...👏👏👏
That is simply stunning
👍
Beautiful i love plane
My heart didn't stop
Can never understand why some pilots have such a vertical takeoff and sharp turns?? Adding 10 seconds to takeoff and turns smooths the flight out so much more and new passengers arent nervous.
wow !!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome!!
Wow what s a steep turn !!!!!
Cool. Watching it bank like that you know it must be a cargo... despite it likely is cause its a 747... I fly these occasionally in my sim (XP11) so really neat to see the real thing and procedures. Thanks for sharing!
It was a regular turn on the flight director. Same with passengers or cargo.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 Really? Looked alot steeper than in the sim... well, shows you how accurate sims are.
@@rangerrick8220 the actual pilot is in the comment sections and he says it was a 30° turn.
SHUT UP
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 I'll check it out - thanks!
What a great machine.
Very nice video, Captain. Keep 'em coming, and I'll keep watching. You make excellent content!🙂
Nice aerial view out of Oslo❤
Great 👌🏿
Phenomenal!
Wow, that was beautiful
The captain has an awesome set of eyebrows , both are like mini visors.
Beautiful
Planes here in Vegas use runway 1 a lot and I am about a mile away. I see them make an almost 90° right turn to the east when they are about 500 to 1000 feet up. It's amazing to me that planes can do that. Some of those planes are very large, even 747s.😮
It’s not a 90° bank angle. It’s a normal bank angle with about a 60° heading change.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 from 10 to 90 is 80.
@@wernerdanler2742 I fly out of Vegas. (Based here). Runway 1L and 1R both have a 014 heading. The turn on the departures is to a heading of 072. So technically a 58° track change.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 I did not know it was 14°. I assumed 10°. It looks like they go straight east to heading 90.
My bad!
I guess they do rounding. 😆 🤣
@@wernerdanler2742 yes, so a few interesting facts.
The earths magnetic field changes slightly over time and the FAA takes readings every 5 years.
Because of this, in Las Vegas, about 6 years ago runways 7L/25R and 7R/25L had shifted 4 degrees and were renamed 8L/26R and 8R/26L. The actual magnetic heading is 079/259 now.
1L and 1R are now 014° and it’s entirely possible that in a few degrees those will be called 020L and R.
They have to round up or down. Otherwise we would need 3 digit runway numbers, which is less safe with radio communications.
Lol, go and fly out of Juneau, AK. The “lemon creek turn” is heart stopping. Pilot needs special lic for flying in and out of Juneau.
At first I wondered why he said “Take-Off TræææÆÆÆST!» instead of take of thrust.
Then I recognized the airport. What a beautiful hommage to the local norwegian alphabet you did there!
Reminds me of sna Santa Ana in Orange County steep turn after takeoff
Nice👍
cool!
