  • The Crewe-built Class 91 Bo-Bo AC electrics have been a daily part of the East Coast Main Line scene since 1988, and they are still in front line service today. Hornby has gone back to the drawing board to create a brand-new model for ‘OO’.
    Enjoy our video of 91111 running on our WCML layout 'West coast cement'.

    Good locos but at nearly £200 they ought to be.

    I like the design but not the class. However it does look good on that layout with those amazing coaches.

    Love that 91 but I think it’s so limited where you could use it. From a marketing point of view I’m unsure

      You'd be surprised, WCML works too, plus some other routes when diverted. Quite a wide variety of uses...

    Why do the light patterns on 91111 and 91118 differ even in the same day/night mode?

    Not a big fan of leccie locos but the 91 does look good from the pointy end, not so much from the blunt end!

    Your buffet cars are the wrong way around. The kitchen should be at the DVT end on the MkIV set, and the loco end on the MkIII set.

      Correct on the east coast models and later, but for those running InterCity the MK4 buffet should be at the loco end as they turned it round during the "Mallard" refurbishment and changed the seating from first to standard class under GNER, hope that helps avoid confusion.

    Sorry not for me, for what you get it's way over priced railway modelling has become a rich man's hobby, I'll stay with the second hand markets until they start getting greedy has Hornby not realize it was COVID 19 that saved them yet we can't afford there prices, Chinese production was meant to be cheaper than UK ? what's happened,

    • @HamStrains
      @HamStrains 2 роки тому

      ;) still is cheaper than paying gaz and baz to hit it with a hammer in Margate.
      Everything everywhere is up in price. Not just things on a small island in the north sea. Maybe start a new even more overpriced manufacturing concern if you wish to... national front models? Maybe? Made in britain by british blokes for british people with british values.

      Yet model companies like Accurascale have proven that they can cram an absolute load of detail and features on a mid-sized loco and charge an actual fair and realistic price.
      I get that everything has gone up in price, but the way both Hornby have done it just doesn't seem economically right.
