Rika is mech-meat...
A cyborg killing machine, created by the Genevian military and cast aside when the war was lost.
Now she slings cargo on Dekar Station, falling deeper in debt as she struggles to make enough money to keep her cybernetic body functioning. The local gangs would love to have her join their ranks, and the takings would pay her bills, but the only thing Rika hates more than what she's become, is killing for others.
But morals don't buy repairs and she's at the point of utter desperation when her loan holder cashes in her debt and sells her to the highest bidder.
When Rika wakes, she's in a warehouse on a planet she's never heard of, and a trio of mercenaries are reassembling her body. Their mission is to kill the world's president, and her mods and abilities are just what they need to get the job done.
Whether she likes it or not, Rika is in the business of killing once more as she joins the ranks of the Marauders.

I have been really enjoying this novel. Typically UA-cam audiobooks tend to be a bit lackluster, but this one is hitting it out of the park so far.
I’m an addict of this series. I swear every few months I listen to it and Adrian’s undead diaries followed by Lyssa series.
I really enjoyed these books, one of the better space opera series out there. Also since you offered them for free here on UA-cam I popped on over to Audible and bought the pub pack of all the Rika books to support the auther even though I've listened to this series at least 3 times. After I bought the Rika series I looked up M.D. Cooper on Audible and found another series staring one Tanis Richards/ Tangel , starting with The Intrepid Saga and then the Orion War Series. still haven't gotten around to Origins of Destiny yet but it is in my library waiting for when I get the time.
The narrator for the Rika series is Laura Jennings, one of the top 5 greatest narrators of all time in my book. I think I could listen to Laura read the ingredients off a box of corn flakes and be enthralled lol. Laura brought these books to life like no one else could have IMHO.

I love this series of books I wish that there was a illustrated data book showing the layout of universe and territories also pictures of all types of mechs and weapons

Great book! I'm old, with bad hearing. I normally can't understand female narrators, but this one I can hear well. I look forward to the entire series.
Was a bit meh about adding this to my library, but I'm so glad I did, gripping stuff at only 2 hours in, thank you 😊

I'm reminded of stroggification from the "Quake" universe. Harrowing stuff. Humans are carved apart, fitted with brain dampeners and other bits of metal - then let loose on a battlefield almost within the same day
In one of the "Quake" videogames theres a cutscene where you can watch it partially happen to your character. It's about as disturbing to watch as you'd expect.
Such well written story! Wasn't sure where to start, so I read 2 prequels now this one. It's worked very well doing it that well. Love the voice! I'm very emotionally sensitive and this story has really brought out sadness and anger! Well done! I'm buying the whole set on audible. I'm 50 something and luv it!
Then again, I'm the youngest 50 plus I've ever known! Hell I still ride a skateboard!
I love how this takes place in the same universe as the Sentience Wars. Just WAY into the future.

I've become a fan of pulp, recently I've picked up the Gideon ira books and have been enjoying them. They're like a Solomon Kain anime mix. Basically holy crusaders in power armor fighting demons it was fun.
This book has been fun. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. Great narration!

I’m only half an hour in, so maybe my opinion will change, but if I was Rika, I would devote my entire life to finding a way to get revenge. The lawyer, the judge, the guys in the intake centre, but especially the medical guy!
What medical guy. And why
She couldn’t get revenge. If you remember or I just put the book you probably don’t know yet. But her side loses the war. Tell the government Falls, all those people you named are probably gone or dead or whatever. She wouldn’t have a open hell I’ve ever finding any of those people.
@@comancheviperrrr when a new force takes over, it's usually the people in charge that are killed. The lower people are usually never killed unless they cause trouble. The new people still need a working government so they keep the people doing the same job. Elon Musk found out the wrong way. He fired everyone then had to beg them to return.

Yep. The books mention the fact on a few occasions that the ground troops got no assistance from their space force ships, tending to turn and run at a moments notice.
And that they would often have a planetary win, but the space forces just give it away by running.

Good marketing on the content. I did go through the first 3, and was disappointed that 4 needs another series that is not available... So obviously I got the other series on Audible, and while at it, paid for the Rika Anthology...
Too bad the narrator was replaced. No opinion regarding a comparison, but have grown a bit attached to the voice of A. Stinnett.

So true. I forget how the narrator pronounced it, but it's a French word, so it's pronounced Sah-bo. The t is silent :)
However, in some English countries, it's pronounced "Sah-but"
