If you think about it Nolan honestly made a good point. Mark is half viltrumite so he’ll live for thousands of years, every friend that he’s fighting for will die in the next 70 years or so and he’ll be left with nobody. But again since he has human in him he also acts selfless and wants to save the planet not for himself but for other people. I feel like the both of them had a valid point of view.
Mark has the right to for fight for his Home and his people. Nolan fights for the same reason, but fails to realise that Mark is also fighting for his redemption.
