The 150 will be missed, that bike sounds so good! Side note, went on a ride today and it felt like what I imagine your rides feel like.. it was absolute chaos on some good ol PNW singletrack..
I've got all the respect in the world for you guys who do Hard/Extreme Enduro stuff. Very very technically impressive for sure. I generally prefer more hooligan or fast and flowy single-track type stuff, and my personality and YZ125 match that perfectly.
I love the 150s I ride my te150 with A riders a decent amount on their 300s and the bike has yet to be the limiting factor make it up all the hills no problem! A few guys were surprised to find out I was riding a 150 halfway through the day! To bad your across the pond or I’d be trying to buy it but shipping will close as much as the bike 😂
125/150 is a lot of fun, but to be fast, its a lot of work. You need to be on it, in the powerband, all the time. 125 is peak fun but maximum effort, 300s are a lot of fun and less effort. Its a sliding scale all the way back to 4 strokes. A 450 is fun and more effortless, you can be lazy. Imo, if you want to become a better rider, get a 125. If you want to casually ride for fun, a 300, 250f, or 450f is easier to ride.
One of the cons of the small bore bikes that was not mentioned are the increased maintenance intervals. You can probabky get twice the hours on the 300 piston than you can on a 150. That's i think is the biggest con. But its way more nimble and fun to ride than a 300. So whatever works best for you.
Look, I'm not saying you can't do it or it's not possible. It all depends on type of riding, etc. but look up bike maintenance manual from KTM, beta, etc and you'll notice they recommend top end maintenance way sooner than 200 hours. Given that smaller displacement bike is more often in higher rpm, it's going to need more frequent topends.
I've ridden a lot of 2 strokes, l grew up in the 2 stroke era,and 125s were s o light, and fun,you held em flat and danced on the gear stick, and l can remember micky dymond at a des nations motocross chasing the 500cc world champion down, There fast.
Still ride my 2014 and my daughter rides a 2016 ktm200xcw ,,,such a blast to ride,I also have a 2016 300xcw,no where near the fun of the small bore 200cc bike,,300 is 2nd gear all day no shifting,,,the 200 is like a hellified 125 if you keep up with the gear changes 😮
The 2025’s are great. Buying a 25 Husqvarna TX300 Heritage Edition on 12/3 here in the USA. Noticed the start / stop switch and mapping button are different on your EXC150. Just found your channel 👍🇺🇸
iff you wanna have more power you can take a 250 or a 300. etc etc. i think it is not for the power mate. if you wanna have a shitload on power there are options enough to take a more powerfull bike. But do you need the extra power.... NO!
Have both two 300’s and two 150’s. A carb and tpi of each. Love them all. The 150 is more fun than any of my other bikes on single track. Wot. And irritating all the guys on 250/300’s. Beyond fun.
typical youtube feedback loop. i bought a 125/150. this bike is the most fun ever. it's plenty of bike. i don't use it because it's not enough bike. im selling it. fb marketplace hits another wave of 125's. we did this in 2020 and 2022 with the yz 125's guys.small bores are an awesome 2nd bike. fun as hell. but unless you ride all the time you'll never use it.
I think its a personality thing to man. So many dirtbike guys are hard working blue collar dudes, and the more powerful bikes are better for more chill rides. If you work your ass off during the week, the 300 and 250's are so much better for "lazier" riding. (I don't mean that as an insult at all). You just don't have to work as hard to go fast and over things. I work a 30 and hour week desk job, so when I'm on the bike, I like to be aggressive and fully engaged. A 125 is perfect for my personality and wants.
have you tried a 200 or 250sx ? specifcally the mx versions for the more aggressive motor i have bounced back and forth between all bikes you can think off 300 exc 250 exc husky 350 husky 450 (four strokes) and always prefered high revving smaller 2 stroke engines in the mx tune for fun factor as you said it depends what you want but who doesent like things that make us smile its not economically viable but ive just built the ultimate bike for fun / performance which is the 250sx with 18 inch rear wheel , flywheel weight and exc tank and dialed back the suspension the thing will rip your arms off it feels 5x faster than any 300 and lugs nearly as good but you really cant beat a good old 125 :)
I found the 250 sx better for the trails and enduro then the 300exc the sx has a full suspension conversion so same as enduro i just find the sx has bit more power and speed at getting there and also dont weigh near as much , but ghat is just me 😂😂

dont sell the 150 i own one and ktm dont make them anymore the last ones made were the 2023 witch i own, here in australia anyways. so they will be a colectable and worth lots of money!
@@MidWestMX you made one good point here, honestly it's not going to happen, but I would love to see two strokes coming back strong as they were during the 90s. Perhaps if we get rid of all the freaking green morons

Can't beat the small displacement bikes! I am not an extreme rider, so the 150 would be perfect for a rider like me!

I'm 16 I'm wanting to get a te 150 they seem like so much fun sad to see mid west selling it he seems to be a better rider on the 150
can we get another quad video? loved the last one
My YZ125 was a blast on the pipe. I understand the love of small 2 strokes ! Watching Mike Brown at the VMXdN ride them is phenomenal .
I wish KTM would make a 200cc kit for the 150 (KTM bring back the 200!).....which now looks farther away than ever noting the financial issues at KTM.
Looking forward to seeing what’s next 😮

I’d have to say 🤔2006 KTM200xc. Great bike. Also loved my 2002 Ktm 200exc. But will be looking to get a 24”Beta200rr race edition in the spring.

Lack of power? 36hp is more than most riders ever need. It hasn't been that many years back where 250s only had 38 to 40hp.
He probably means grunt…. torque. You have to rev the nuts off it to get your 36bhp.
