The brush touch up "technique" is super common with cars being pushed throught the auction over there. Just enough to hide some blemishes in pics depending on how they are taken. Those crusty areas will be super easy to fix, I wouldn't let that alone discourage you from buying it. I think I mention in the short that the Mitsu Minica is growing on me a little bit in that it would be a challenge to do be creative with. Also -- Thanks for showing anyone not used to driving these the reality that you won't be driving 120 KPH all day long and that even 100 KPH is pushing it for some of these. Yeah I've seen that paint brush method on a couple cars but its usually to cover rust idk if there rust on the plastic bumper thats what threw me off lol and yeah I think that minica only being $3200 seems like a good buy
New York, Jersey, Baltimore, DC... you're hitting all the spots that I avoid like the plague. 🙂 Modern tires are much more reliable but I can't believe you're going on a 700 mile road trip without a spare tire. I drive my 1996 Hijet at 100 KPH indefinitely. That's the sweet spot for major roads driving around town. On the interstate I've had it to 120 KPH but it feels wound out so I don't do that for long. The few times I've been on the interstate, I cruise at 110 KPH. 7:20 - Look at the back side of that ugly bubbled panel. If it's not rusted all the way through, you can probably get an angle grinder with a coarse sand paper flap wheel or a coarse ScotchBrite wheel and remove all of the paint and rust down to bare metal and then do a quick Bondo repair. You can prime and paint over Bondo (make sure to epoxy prime all bare metal) and either paint over that or wrap it. 11:45 - I always love seeing a kei car parked in a third of a US parking space. 😛 12:45 - The greenie meanies force accordion vapor seals on gas pump nozzles to recover gas fuels to prevent unburned hydrocarbons in the atmosphere and you eject a running nozzle onto the ground to create an EPS SuperFund cleanup site. Didn't you read the pump? "YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FUEL SPILLS." (12:50) 🤣 It's about the same $23 to fill up my Hijet mini truck but it's 7.5 gallons into a 9 gallon tank instead of the 5 gallons you put in the Beat. I hope you survive your trip to Bodymore Murderland. 😵

Any tips for making a successful road trip in a street? I know you didn’t take yours on a road trip, but I’d like to eventually take mine on a 2800~ish mile trip to and from Texas and Florida… Obviously not in a rush to get to the destination either way, just wanna minimize likelihood of trouble along the way
I would do all the basic stuff, plugs, wires, air filter and oil change. Timing belt too if possible doesn't hurt ive never done one but its deff a risk. Secondly I would just plan to stop off every fill up on gas get some food let the car cool off for 30min or so and take your time. if possible even do a oil change 3/4 into your trip
People think just adding power to a Kei will make it work better on US highways, but the issue isn't power, it's RPM. If you put a turbo on a standard Kei you are going to add stress to the engine and be able to accelerate harder, but doing 70mph on the highway is still going to be 7000rpm, just now on a more stressed engine. You need higher gearing, and that's real money on most Keis.
A turbo or supercharger plus DOHC does help alot with keeping the RPMs lower. the faster kei cars can cruise at 60-70 no problem but overall there not geared for American interstates
for example the cappuccino is only at 4k RPM at 60mph my beat is around 6k so if does help having the DOHC and turbo, Seeing how we can get bigger than 660cc@@Scoots1994

You'd get to 60 faster but the rpm wouldn't change just because of the added turbo. You have to change the gearing somehow to lower the rpm at a speed.
4:40 its 4th and 5th gears are too short for that for hours maybe a few mins at that rpm. its gotta be turning 6k at 120kph. 7:55 RED FLAG! rust there means rust under. the hood seeing it in HD on my 32 inch its not as bad as i thought. 10:00 short person problems 🤣

The bonnet of the Minica looks pretty bad but anything can be repaired, at a price. As it's 'gone' on both sides it looks like a design fault, so a used replacement would be both rare and likely to have the same problem. Hmmm....what makes me such a little ray of sunshine? If you do buy it, wrap it (yellow would do) and paint the grill black. Much easier. As for the Autozam Revue, it looks like it's from a kid's cartoon. It'd take a hell of a lot of work to give that some street cred'.
