Mav: French people drive crazy
Also Mav: blows through stop sign while recording
6:00, haha I was thinking the same thing!
Came here looking for someone else that caught that 😂
i watched that 3 times to make sure i wasnt mistaken!
one thing he does that really concerns me is when he starts driving BEFORE putting on his seatbelt.
@@LChineze hard same. In his older videos it drove me crazy when he let's go of the steering wheel to do something crazy.
@@alejandrorey359 i thought he has a gopro head mount so that is so unnecessary.
he let go of the steering wheel to shift with his left hand while holding a selfie thing in his right. 🤦
I love this kid. He could stay in the most expensive hotel in Cannes. And he sleeps in a Fiat on the streets after making escargot by the sea. What a doll!
Mav, I believe if people are friendly and kind, they will be treated the same back. You are friendly and kind....and patient. I'm enjoying your international experiences! Vive la France 🇫🇷!
Mav.. You're like a breath of fresh air, returning me to my young days when we could be totally comfortable with the world around us. Nothing phases you for long, you have the knack for getting back up, dusting off, and continuing in any direction you want to go. Splendid coverage of your nimble and very resourceful ways. You know how to enjoy life. Never give up that attitude.
Honestly tiny cars are top stealth campers.
Facts if you park your mini stealth camper car in full of other mini car no one will know your there
@@jesielcardenales2108I'm pretty sure they'd see your car though, soooo....

Don’t forget they work for birth control.
5:55 shifting with steering wheel hand and blowing through stop signs is big energy
Imagine being a French fan of Mav and driving by him, on the French Riviera, walking down the street with his camera and his baguette . . .
that's actually funny!
you know it's Mav's awkwardness (with the French people) that's so charming!
Mav walking around France looking for baguette is absolutely gold. ❤ it looks so amazing though. Baguette is the best.
Wait. The French didn’t hate us enough. Let’s dismantle the rental.
😂
😂😂
Yeah, because he's totally not going to put it back together lol - Mav will have it back just like it was, maybe better since the bolts will be all tightened up.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ZacharyFriesenyou don't do jokes, do you?
OMG, taking a French rental car apart by Mav!! 😂😂😂😂
Always get the rental insurance 🤣
As well as Mav is doing it’s probably not a rental!!?! It’s a tax expense, content expenditure.
Yeah. That’s what I was thinking, how can u do this to a rental?! Guys got a lot of cash to buy a car while traveling.
I love the idea of a random French guy walking down the beach seeing mav with a phone in his mouth picking snails outta shells 😂
His thoughts "bleeping Tourists;! ; Psh, Americans!"
I’m from south of France and now living in Vancouver, BC and it’s so funny to see you there doing something that nobody is doing there, love it! I feel bad for you because unfortunately you took water snails not actual escargot but oh well! I hope you enjoyed your trip, RPZ Montpellier ❤️❤️
That’s what I noticed, not escargot
I made my own Cajun style escargot from about 35 big snails I gathered while hiking the southern half of the Appalachian Trail almost 30 years ago.
I had stopped to recover from a bruised heel and shin splints for a few days, and decided to "chef it up" while I recovered.
Yup... it was delicious, and I prepped them for 3 days first to poop themselves empty in a mesh bag hanging over the creek, dipping and washing them in the water every 3 to 6 hours.
Boiled them, broke them, cleaned the gut gunk out, keeping only the meat. Trimming the brown leathery edges from it.
I washed the meat, fried them in butter with garlic and wild leeks I found.
I made a full pound of linguine noodles, saving the boil water for my tomato sauce. (waste NOTHING on the trail)
I added a can of evaporated cream and some olive oil then some spices to the frying pan with the already fried snails meat
A sauce I prepared in the morning, I made from a small can of concentrated tomato sauce, boiling it on the fire for 5 hours, was added to the creamy meat.
I added the fried escargot in butter and cream sauce to the tomato sauce, and used lots of spices. I mixed in some boiled, then fried Solomon's Seal root and some sassafras leaves to thicken it and make it more like gumbo.
God, was it good. Tasted a lot like scungilli.
A pack of 50 boy scouts with 3 adult leaders walking with them, day-hiked past me and they caught the full scent of the snails frying... they all said "Oh man that smells good! What is it?" I said, "Cleaned and prepared fried snails in olive oil, garlic and leeks."
Silence.
Then "No thanks..." and they continued walking again. It was funny.
More for me. I ate for two days on that dish.
Once my shin splints were under control I continued to hike on and got to a campground that allowed us to camp for free up the river and use their facilities. I cleaned all my rinsed out pans with dish soap and walked to town. Bought a 7 pound beef roast, and put it in their wood and charcoal grill, turning the beef and slicing off thin layers of beef and eating them. Turning and skicing, eating. Over and over again. 8 hours later I'd eaten 7 pounds of beef all by myself with nobody to mooch.
I cleaned the campground as payment for using theut shower, washing machines and facilities, called my family, then slept for 5 hours.
I left at 5 AM to get a jump on the day, as the sun was barely breaking the horizon. I got a 30 mile day in that day and the shin splints stayed gone.
One day, as the old man that I am, I wish to hike the Appalachian Trail again, and wish to record and load my experiences of making a second batch of natural woods ground ground snails.
YAY! Yes you def needed that baguette! (Used to live in France) another pro tip - pour water over the baguette, steam in it in a pot- just heat- and you crisp up the outside and softens the inside!🎉
Mav you driving while shifting and running a stop sign at 6:00 was hilarious!!!! have a good time in Europe
Usually people say that you don't sear your garlic for more than a minute. If your versions tastes good to you, then that's all you need! Sometimes I set my garlic aside after cooking for a minute and toss it back in before I deglaze. Amazing video as usual.
Got my 10 year old to watch one of your older videos with me (an Alaska one) and now he’s been binge watching your channel 😎
The rental car company watching this like :o
As mexican I totally agree that french people do rock, specially this generation of young adults. Everyone is so polite and kind.
Thank you, my friend, for the new French adventure. A miracle that the Benemérita didn't come to you and took you out of the camping area and cooking snails without bread/baguette. Epic. 😊
Did I just watch Mav gut a Fiat rental to make room for camping, and reference Pulp Fiction and eat fast food?
Yes, yes you did. 🤣
Yea but I think we also watched him run that stop sign 😂
Welcome to Europe, Mav. Being respectful and friendly is what we Europeans cherish most. We come across a little cold at first but a smile breaks the ice.
I went to France for a short trip a few years ago , I found the French people nice and friendly in general , maybe some were a bit impatient but on the whole no problems
They do appreciate tourists making an effort to communicate in their language
It’s insane that you are in France. I currently live in MN but grew up and lived in France for 16 years. Have an awesome trip there!
Mav just ran the he’ll out the stop🛑 😂
I was waiting for this comment 😂
😂😂😂
Looking forward to this one ! Thank you Mav , for doing what you do ! I hope everyone on here is having a good Sunday evening!
Hey Maverick, what a fun video you have taken us to so many places all over the world and now the French Riviera that was definitely beautiful. Thanks for sharing you always make my day. Be safe out there.♥️👍🙏😎✌️
Happy to see you in my country Mav ! It’s a pleasure. Some people are rude everywhere. But lots of people are good also everywhere.
I hope you enjoy your time here.
Much love
LOVE seeing you camp in all kind of different vehicles! Totally fun!
I visited Paris about 15 years ago and found that the people there were wonderful! When I went into shops they'd start speaking French, I'd try my best very broken French to reply and they'd happily start speaking English. I think most people are inherently good. Hope the rest of your stay in France was beautiful!
We must come from two polar opposite worlds because where I'm from people are inherently bad (no exaggeration, just fact)
I`ve had the complete opposite experience. Everyone we met basically refused to speak english. Not a place I would go for a vacation.
I had the same experience in France! Every single French person was very nice, not rude at all.
Very rude people, never going back.
First trip out of the country was almost 40 years ago to Paris. The people are incredibly warm. It was the first of many international trips. Every trip to a European destination would end with a trip through one of the regions in France. Probably ten visits (& Paris 3 times) to the country and never a bad experience. Folks who perpetuate that “French hate us” narrative either haven’t visited or were not the most educated travelers. So glad you went and so glad you found your experience mirrored mine. The food, the wine and the people are incredible! I love how international travel nudges you to grow as a person. Keep it up! Happy roads, Mav!
Your persistence on that baguette was impressive, Mav 😅
Hey Mav, glad you're enjoying France. Those were Murex, just a type of seafood, not escargots (marine mollusk, kind of like perriwinkle or whelks, just a shellfish really). Escargots are from land, the best ones from Bourgogne. Shellfish is best raw with a bit of mustard mayo.
The French Riviera sunset is gorgeouse, I love Escargot and a Bagutte to dip in the butter garlic sauce and Yes deffinantly tasty I agree. Nice little set up you created in the vehicle . Thank's for bringing us along. Ontario Canada.
Great video Mav! I loved seeing the French Riviera. Thanks for sharing!
I love the change of venue, change of menu, and being able to experience, vicariously, Mav's adventures. Time to open a restaurant featuring all of Mav's greatest dishes! "It smells like butter in here!"
MAV, this series in France had to be my favorite work that you’ve done. I’m really glad that you got the sunset on the French Riviera and forgot the bread. It made for a lot better of a video! Keep on Truckin ✌🏼
You don't have to camp alone -- bring Murray next time. The french would adore him! He is the perfect travel size!
😂
I was just thinking about your buddy Murray. He would be perfect for such an adventure and I like the whole thing about Influencing, mentoring in this really different world we find ourselves in with all kinds of great possibilities and fun and great ways to live life not just surviving but thrivin' it!
Always look forward to your videos on Sunday Mav, thank you! Helps with the “Sunday scaries” lol
Excited for this europe adventure MAV! Camping in this tiny car.... you're a a great adventurer and therefore an inspiration for adventure!
Have fun :) Congrats with the online shop and clothing line btw! Greetings from the Netherlands.
You’re livin the life Mav I envy you keep up the great content. Much love from Tucson Arizona!
Thank you Mav for this great video what a beautiful place you camped at I thought that sleeping would be a problem love escargot
Cant wait to watch another great video mav! I love looking forward to a new video from you every week ❤
How could you go to the French Riviera without an SO. One never knows who they just might meet in the French Riviera! It could be perfect!
Escargot has to be a very favorite dish. I make mine with dry white wine. I have to admire you for the enhancing acutrimount, " the French Baguette , "
Ppl seemed generous and nice. Have a great time my friend. Thanks for taking me along. That dip you took at the end of the day was great! See you next time! ❤
Your content is always awesome Mav just with they were longer.
That looks great. One of my favorite dishes. My dad introduced me to snails when I was 12.😊
That advert for Mav Clothing is beyond awesome. Love the filming style, the music and obviously the product! Wishing you all the success Mav! Keep on Truckin!
Mav, just thought you’d be happy to know I got a Tech Deck ad while watching this video 🛹 you’ve come a long way man, but UA-cam hasn’t forgotten your roots
UA-cam finally did something right and recommended Mav to me.
Makes me laugh to see someone car camp just as disorganized as I do. Swap the napping with baguettes with a bag of mini potatoes and that's me! 😅
As a french, I can tell you that people behavior change a lot depending on the place you are ! Great that you met nice people ;)
Great episode. French restaurants were nice. The hard plate on the snails is the door to their shell. I have snails in my aquarium. I’m excited for the next day
This one of your best videos yet MAV I love watching you live and explore your best life and dreams!!! Be safe out there prayers always sent up for you
yesss seeing a new mav video pop up always makes my day !!!
Never more felt more real than watching Mav be like: “yeah, lonely in France, but I got the Fiat”
Great episode brother, reminds me how I started van life in my Toyota Yaris through Italy. Ive been to France with my camper for 6 weeks straight a couple years ago and can say most French people are so nice, like everywhere in this world.
This is probably the best option considering the bed bug outbreak in France 😅
Been watching for a good few years now, lots of improvements since, keep it up!
At about 6:00, did Mav just blow a stop sign 😆 Good video bud!
I was hoping you’d pick up some baguette to go with your meal! Glad you got it. Glad you still got bread. This looks delicious & the views are stunning! 😍 Thank you for sharing as always with us Mav! 💕
Thank you for taking me on your journey to l the French Riviera that was the most beautiful sunset I love all your videos can't wait for the next one
6:00 he drives through a stop sign, 45 seconds later he says people on the road drive a little crazier then in America, stay safe MAV
Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. You mustn't be from America either. Lol
I also noticed and was scrolling through comments to see if anyone else saw that
You’re a classic! Well done young man, well done 👍✌️🇺🇸
I’m am enjoying your France trip. Thanks for sharing
Simple little journey in France. Pretty sweet.
I love ur channel and watch every video right when its posted, keep up the good work!
I put my garlic and onion in at the same time! Always thought everyone did, guess not lol! We all learn to cook differently to each there own I say!
Mav out here living the dream! Keep on trucking with all the awesome content!
Love the international travel! More please!
this dude is just living free and happy and i love it
I know you don't drink but, adding a good white wine to your escargot adds so much flavor. At least for me anyways, the dish looked amazing nonetheless. I hope you're having a great time in France!
Love the travelling videos Maw, the adventures are so much fun. 🥰🌟👊
Yummy escargot. Thanks for sharing your adventure in france.
Mav you have a sweet face, that’s why everyone is nice to you. 😅
Mav always got the best trips
As a Frenchguy, I'm happy to see you here, Mav. People in the south of France are a little less welcoming than those in the north. But we're always welcoming in general We don't like welcoming Americans? never heard of it. Everyone thinks different things about everyone haha. Well u have to go to Paris Mav, u can't miss this beautiful city. And tip: don't rent too big car there. The smaller it is, the better you'll get around.🗼
I really enjoy watching your videos. Nice laid-back sense of humor.
Anyone who's seen pulp fiction knows exactly what it's called 😂
LOL, you missed the stop sign at about 6 minutes in. Keep on truckin'.
Love the chill videos recently mav
I freaking love your style! Dinner at the French Riviera!
Nothing wrong with alone time, you make all choices yourself without having to argue with someone else. Haha!!
Mav went from “ solo winter camping -15 weather “ to “I can’t read this title” 😂
WOW... Just WOW with that sunset! Hey you cook you! Free Baguettes.. Hell yea! 😄
A mini camper could have be a fun project and addition! Great watch
Wow, almost 3 million subscribers; well deserved, Mav.
Cheers to your success 🍻🍻
If people don’t like how you cook they can unfollow you! Don’t let UA-cam change you man! Enjoying the videos as always!
oh my god bro, im so happy for you! the ad for your brand looked amazing! its been a minute since ive watched your stuff but i got to say seeing the ad made me realize how far youve come. much love and i hope to see where you go from here
Hey Mav. These videos are Dope. Keep Trucking! Always know that no matter what. You got this Mav.... ❤️🐞
The rental car company watching this 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just think you get what you give when it comes to how ppl treat you. And as we all know Mav is always very respectful to everyone. He was brought up very well. As always stay safe and God bless from Missouri.
Hi mav...
Greetings from JAKARTA INDONESIA broo....
You rock Mav!!!
Loving the videos mav, you seem like such a chill person. Long time since I have seen a sock soda though. I always save up some episodes, so I can binge your videos. Keep on doing you :)
Mav, do you have a wheel that you spin to decide what kind of camping you’re gonna do? Great content brother
Mav that sunset was EPIC, absolutely incredible!! As far as people ripping you apart for adding garlic too early, remember you are cooking the way you like. They aren’t eating it so you keep doing you! Thanks for taking us along!
That intro was 👌🏼
Huge congrats on everything Mav. All the hard work is paying off. My 6 yr old daughter and I went into our local Zumiez the other day to see if they had any Mav merch. Unfortunately they didn't 😔 but we'll be checking back in regularly 😎 much love from Boise, ID
Mav running a stop sign at 6:00 🤣😭
caught that too lol.
Over $300 cad for some sweatpants, i think we've lost the way mav
Thanks for the heads up on the price. I was going to order some but not at $300 CDN.
It’s made for the outdoors and warmth. Obviously it’ll be expensive
ikr but at the end it’s really good quality, many good outdoor pants cost a little bit less but you’re also paying for the mav brand
@@alexpicasso2035 you have the product? Patagonia and Fjallraven have been around for ever and are proven and even then don't cost as much.
@@atomicfroster i honestly don’t have the product but he does wear it in his videos so i guess the quality isn’t bad
This video has changed my mind about tiny car camping. I could see myself doing this.
That sunset was epic Mav.
