He was shaking. He knew he was taking a huge risk but it paid off. One of, if not the best Oscar speeches of all time, and definetly the most important. Even the Academy knew it had to be shared.
Full respect for Jonathan Glazer who is a Jew and had the courage to speak out what it needs to be said about the on going attack on Gaza! You can tell he was super nervous as his hands were shaking when he read his speech, he shouldn't have got the backlash that the internet threw at him. Pray that this speech wouldn't ruin his career in making more movies, if it does, then Hollywood doesn't deserve him at all!
i doubt it will..he's a 'foreigner' by hollywood standrads not because of his nationality but his style of filmmaking
Glazer has made four movies in 25 years. By the time he has plans for his next one history will be one his side.
British Jews are wonderful
Rescuing hostages is not similar to the Holocaust
The Zone of Interest is the 9th non-english language film to be nominated for both international feature film and best picture in the same year
Here is the list of All that 9 films
1. Z (Algeria, 1969)
2. Life is Beautiful (Italy, 1998)
3. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Taiwan, 2000)
4. Amour (Austria, 2012)
5. Roma (Mexico, 2018)
6. Parasite (South Korea, 2019)
7. Drive My Car (Japan, 2021)
8. All Quiet on the Western Front (Germany, 2022)
9. The Zone of Interest (The United Kingdom, 2023)
Long Live International Film ❤️❤️
I mean, if it’s nominated for Best Picture, you already know that it’s gonna win best non English film
add Jan Troell's The Emigrants, since it was nominated for Internatonal feature in 1972 and the following year was nominated for Best Picture, Director, Actress and Screenplay, and remains as the only movie to get nominated in both categories that didn't win
This would have not happened if the Academy did not expand the Best Picture nominees to ten
You're forgetting Grand Illusion
@@MundoJuanci Grand Illusion is not nominated for Best Foreign Language Film because that year there was no category for this
Compliments to Jonathan Glazer for this great movie and for the speech!
You finally posted it
And everything is included. Paying respects to the victims of the October 7 Massacre, the victims of Gaza, and of course the Holocaust victims and Aleksandra Bystron-Kolodziejczyk.
Unanimously deserved.
what a brave speech by Jonathan Glazer, we need more artists speaking and denouncing the atrocities happening in this world
We do. Indeed we do
We love you Jonathan Glazer, you mensch!
This man is amazing!!! I have so much respect for him!!
Glazer giving an absolutely provocative speech on the injustices happening to the Palestinians... right next to Dwayne Johnson.
That's Hollywood for you.
How do you think he responded?
Bravest Oscar speech of my lifetime (I was born in 1998), and probably might very well be the bravest I think there may ever be. Well done, Jonathan Glazer!
More young people should see this
Great speech from Mr. Glazer 👏
Yes
Glad they finally put the speech up on their official channel. It deserves to be here.
Sometimes movies are bigger than time and space. Sometimes they are phenomenal entities. This is one of those times. A masterpiece bigger than what it is.
Finally posted! Respect and admiration for Jonathan Glazer!
Well deserved 👏🏻
It's the Final Boss
I dont understand why France dont send Anatomy of a Fall. A 100% Win. Like Lady on Fire 2020. And France send Les Miserables...
Guess since it’s not completely in French. Unlike The Taste Of Things
I would call les miserables and taste of things bad( which thr later is better movie) but the films you reference deserve the spot more
About damn time you uploaded this
and some of the other technical categories as well.
Society of the snow or Perfect Days seems like one of my possible winners, and the truth is I was very supportive of Society of the snow to win, but good for Jonathan Glazer, and not only for the speech, but The zone of interest is incredible, and I like.
I don't know whether to say if he deserves it or that I'm happy, but it's good that he won.
Free Palestine 🇵🇸❤️
❤
They didn’t
Free Palestine
from Hamas
@@milhouse14that too
@@milhouse14hamas was created by israel btw
Took a while to post this, huh?
There are several they hadn't uploaded, not just this.
I also thought this was the reason but Oscars youtube channel had to wait to upload certain videos because ABC still had the copyright.
I hope this is not edited or something is bleeped out in this speech. That would be soulless to do so.
It’s not. Everything isn’t
Congratulations.
Well deseverd
Dam. Im not even mad for japan picking perfect days. When you have 4 acclaim films( this and monster, Boy and the heron, Godzilla mins one) you know is sure a hard decision
Japan was stacked this year. Should have gave more nominations to Japan
@@emiliobello2538If the academy did what they dod back in the 50s. They could jad nominated monster for best original screenplay
@@savvastoynoysidis360 did what?
@@emiliobello2538they nominated bunch of foreign films in adapted and original screenplay. Example is many like 400 blows and La dolca vuta and etc..
In general many countries are stacked almost every year like if i was the academy i would nominated both boy and the heron and perfect days
Good afternoon!
It's already Thursday again this week.
I hope the rest of the week brings you good health and good things.
And always cheering you on in your beautiful/fascinating activities. ^^
Johnathan Glazer went from directing virtual insanity to Zone of Interest
Once again if an international feature is nominated, best picture, then the odds of it winning this award are pretty high. However, I wouldn’t have minded if Society of the Snow had won as that was a fantastic movie.
United Kingdom is now the most nominated country followed by Italy
Felicidades para The zone of interest.
Al "cantante" ni en Español le entendí lo que dijo, pero en fin, así es la vida.
Jonathan ! God Allah bless you and open before you the doors of His mercy and make goodness easy for you wherever you are - Amen !
Great movie, great speech, great man.
Im glad that Jonathan Glazer is now an Oscar Winner.
I hope more UK films win for International Film. Maybe one in the minority languages?
Maybe like in Gaelic. Or maybe even one in Bengali or Persian or French (African version) or in Scots Gaelic or in Korean. Ooh or maybe in Russian (Russia is expelled from the Academy, but another country could make a movie in Russian) I’m thinking United Kingdom could.
Two German language movies are competing. Awesome
Plus Japans entry Perfect Days was directed by a German filmmaker
@@thedudewhomadethisvideo Germany was stacked at the Oscars. Wim Wenders, The Teachers Lounge, some of the crew of The Zone Of Interest and Sandra Huller
Well, people can now stop saying that the Academy censored this speech
Yes, posting it weeks later until after the press died down
@@ThisApp they do it like this every year and with all cathegories. They have to wait one month. You can check it
Well it would have been HILARIOUS if they archived the entire ceremony except for Best International Feature Film.
But this is perfection.
If Jonathan Glazer did not say what he did, it would've been like he had no idea what film he made. The man is a genius and deserves all the utmost respect as an artist and human being. I usually refer to him as the second coming of Stanley Kubrick.
About time yall posted this
It’s not their fault, they had a rights agreement over certain clips that was pre-agreed meaning ABC had exclusivity for the first month, you can find it on UA-cam just released by them
Honest and brave speech! Good for them that they've finally uploaded this
Killin me, just talk it out FFCS⤴️©️✝️🆎💋
SIM! SIM! SIM!

Brave Jonathan Glazer you deserve this ، the best speech and the best film of the year
Yes
Comparing the rescue of hostages to the Holocaust? You think that’s a best speech?!
He said NOTHING wrong.
Agreed. Both sides have good people and bad people. If Ari Folman won for Waltz With Bashir he could have said this
exactly, he said what had to be said
Genuinely might be the greatest speech of all time
I can't say I love the movie. But there is nothing to react to in this speech. It was a common-sense conversation. In the same speech, he condemned the terrible terrorist attacks of October 7 and the method of combating terrorism targeting civilians in Gaza. Why should we defend everything that the Israeli government does?!
Unfortunately not all people have listening skills
Thank you. I 💯 agree with you
FINALLY!
"Society Of The Snow" deserved many more nominations than it got and I honestly think it should have won here. Its recreation of this accident and the survivors' journey to be rescued is simply memorable in every way.
"The Zone Of Interest" has a terrifying and well done concept but in my opinion it worked more for a short film.
I understood. But glad wes Anderson won this year and i would prefer zone of interest came out different year
🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
Even though the movie was mediocre. That speech was beautiful. He humanized all Holocaust Victims and Gaza Victims and October 7 victims. Said they were all suffering and only depicted IDF as bad, not Israelis as a whole I think either Shayda or Housekeeping For Beginners or The Taste Of Things or Goodbye Julia or Music Is My Life or The Wandering Earth 2 should have been nominated instead. And that The Teachers Lounge or Perfect Days should have won Society is rigged by accusing Jonathan Glazer of being antisemitic No to antisemitism 🟦 No to Islamophobia No to war No to genocide Also glad that Cillian Murphy won for Oppenheimer and dedicated it to peacemakers everywhere And the speech of 20 Days in Mauripol winning. And an honor that Bobi Wine The People’s President was also nominated
The Zone Of Interest is the first win for United Kingdom in Best International Feature but not first ever Oscar win.
finally
Menudo robo 😤
I've seen all 5 nominees and I think "The Teachers' Lounge" should've won instead. Am I the only one?
Probably, yeah.
No. I agree too.
I even have my fixed version too
Best International Feature Film
20 Days In Mariupol from Ukraine
Shayda from Australia
The Teachers Lounge from Germany
Society Of The Snow from Spain
Perfect Days from Japan
Winner The Teachers Lounge
It also deserved more nominations like Best Original Score and Best Cinematography and Best Supporting Actor for one of the kids
Should have been
Best International Feature Film
20 Days In Mariupol from Ukraine
Shayda from Australia
The Teachers Lounge from Germany
Society Of The Snow from Spain
Perfect Days from Japan
Winner The Teachers Lounge
Get a life kid
@@Gavin48 ok you win. I’m pretty young. I’m only in the first 23 years of my life. I got to do more. But seriously I couldn’t fathom this. I thought this movie would be good but it surprisingly wasn’t. But United Kingdom would send better films soon
@@VicenteTorresAliasVits I did have 5
