    i am so blessed by the people who are taking this issue head on. for a few decades now it's seemed to me that unless eternal conscious torment in hell was dealt with, the world would not, could not change. not that i agree 100% with everything everyone says, but GOD is LOVE. our FATHER is LOVE. AGAPE love at that. and IT IS FINISHED, the garden and everything that proceeded from that was dealt with in Jesus' death, resurrection and ascension. and if ANYTHING we think we believe does not line up with that.... cast it away! for the glory and honor of ALMIGHTY ALL-KNOWING FATHER GOD.. your own good.. and everyone else's! 🙂

    @34:50 Interesting and useful discussion, I especially agree with the idea of embracing the spirit of the entire Bible rather than building division by focusing on individual versus. I disagree with the view that Jahweh hasn't preserved the integrity of the Bible though, a brief look at Biblical numerology and the heptadic structure is convincing enough for me. 'The words (speech) of the Lord are pure words; as silver (metaphor for truth) tried in a furnace, purified seven times' Ps 12:6.

    What about people like Mary K Baxter who have said that they have been to hell ,in the Spirit, and also been to Heaven and the accounts were similar to what other people have said ?

    • @GilHodgesPodcast
      @GilHodgesPodcast  Місяць тому +1

      There are so many vastly different experiences... yes a lot of similarities, but there is a ton of science and evidence that shows people will see what their deepest belief systems and programming hold. Even those who claim to be atheists see heaven or hell, because deep inside they really do believe, they just don't want to admit it.

      Well, the problem with NDAs (near death experiences) is that they're all subjective, and reflect the beliefs and ideas of the culture the person who tries to later on describe what they recall happened in their MIND. Even on a good day (as in, when one is not dying or is deprived of oxygen, etc.) human memory is notoriously faulty, and human perception is just as frail. The NDA's of people who grew up in a Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu culture reflect their very different beliefs with memories of having "seen" the 72 virgins, Buddha or Ram.

    As an ambassador of Jesus Christ, and an ordained Minister of the good news gospel of Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit revealed the wonderful glorious eternal truth of God’s unfailing love for all of humanity to me back in 2008! The amazing truth of "all shall be saved" is being revealed as the veil that blinds the nations is being lifted and removed! Greetings from western Canada! Revelation 2:17 🤗😎🌞

    This is true. That is I have found through Godand studying history and what was brought to us through the pharacee and sadducees when the jews were in captivity in babylon. They were babylonian myths passed down the jewish faith.

    After listening to this entire podcast it would seem there is a lot you don't understand. I think you should study more. We're to love our enemies but it's up to God to deal with them and he will judge righteously. Repent now because what comes around goes around.

      I'm hoping more and more people will be able to shed the lies and ugliness they have been taught about God in order to see who He really is. Because what you think God is, is what you reflect. Unfortunately, the church is full of judgemental condemning hearts that do not reflect what Jesus showed us.

      The most widespread belief about the afterlife among the people Jesus spoke to had to do with a new world order, here on earth, when God would send a Davidic king to free the Jews from foreign rule and hegemony. Yes, this "Age to Come" would begin with a grand, citizenship court hearing, what the Jews call "Judgment Day," and at that hearing, the Messiah would assess who would be worthy of immediate citizenship in the new, theocratic government he would put together. Of those FIRST citizens, some would also be REWARDED with prestigious positions in the new government. But those who don't get citizenship right away, those who would be alienated, would not be tortured or sent to any sort of Hell. Jesus taught that God NEVER responds to evil with more evil! He doesn't inflict pain. He doesn't punish. Making people suffer only MULTIPLIES evil; it NEVER SUBTRACTS it! Therefore, those initially alienated from the Kingdom of God are simply denied the extra privileges the FIRST to enter the Kingdom of God will enjoy. However, even the alienated will enjoy many blessings as the Messiah and the first citizens remake the world. By the way, the Jewish prophets spoke about this all the time, but since most Christians never actually read the scriptures, it sounds very odd to them.

    So you're saying if anyone is cremated they're gone for good? They've destroyed the body AND soul? That's disturbing.

    • @GilHodgesPodcast
      @GilHodgesPodcast  Місяць тому

      That is what THEY believed back then. Not what we believe.

    • @ricklannoye4374

      OK, just because the ancient Israelites (like most all the ancient peoples of Mesopotamia and the Levant) believed a proper-burial was necessary for the soul to maintain existence, doesn't meant they were correct! Those same people also thought gods or God caused earthquakes when, in fact, they are caused by random movements of tectonic plates deep below the earth.
      Jesus often never bothered to disabuse people of their deeply-entrenched beliefs, especially when there were more pressing, existential issues to address.
      We don't know what Jesus actually believed about the afterlife. He may have, privately, thought God would have no problem raising all the dead regardless of what happened to their physical bodies. (After all, if He can supernaturally raise the dead, why should not having some bones to work with be a problem!)
      However, when Jesus spoke about Gehenna, it was always in the context of existential, life or death choices! Harming children or getting arrested and executed by Rome, or to draw attention to things like the hypocrisy of the religious elite who imagined they would be greatly awarded in the Age to Come for their external piety when Jesus said what really mattered to God was how much a person helped the suffering (Matthew 25:31-41a;42-45).

    Matthew 25:30 Matthew 13 49:50, lots of scripture talks about hell, lats not be deceived! It is clear! If you're not born again through Jesus blood your going into the Pit of everlasting torment! People who teach there is no he'll are false!!!

      I'm sorry, but you will not find the word hell in Hebrew or Greek. It does not exist. You're reading English translations that place the word hell into the translation from 5 different words, none of which carried with them the idea or connotation of the hell taught about in most churches today.

      I would encourage you to look up the original words of the scriptures that are, falsely, translated as "Hell." Afterwards, you might begin to wonder why some religious leaders would continue to perpetuate the Myth of Hell, in light of what the scriptures actually said about the afterlife. Might it be because they want to terrorize you into submission so they can use and abuse you?

    • @ricklannoye4374

      Matthew 25:30 is referring to those who, because they were so outwardly religious and cock sure they would be immediately granted full citizenship in the coming, earthly, restored nation of Israel, that when they learn they will have to live as alienated gentiles, they will be very sad and leave the grand citizenship court hearing ("judgment day") the Messiah will conduct shortly after he first arrives, crying.
      Now, think about this--do people who are burning alive merely cry??? No! People who are burning alive scream at the top of their lungs in utter agony! However, false teachers, especially in the Neo Fundamentalist churches, have so misinterpreted what Jesus actually said, their followers never stop to question these false interpretations.
      Matthew 13:49-50 is another passage that is so often mistranslated and misinterpreted. When Jesus gave the explanation of the parable of the Wheat and the Weeds, he does NOT say PEOPLE will be thrown into a fire, but the σκάνδαλα (skandala) CAUSES OF SIN! You can look this up for yourself--biblehub.com/text/matthew/13-41.htm
      Yes, as Paul explained in I Corinthians 3:11-15, using the METAPHOR of an ore-smelting fire pit, some people are going to see all of their phony "good" WORKS "go up in smoke," and they will be very sad, especially if they were anticipating not only getting to become citizens in the Kingdom of God right away, but getting many rewards on top of that...but that's a far cry (forgive the pun) from they, themselves being burned alive!

      The phrase for eternal punishment in Mt 25 is aionias kolasis and should be translated the chastisement of that age. Kolasis is restorative punishment (it is linked to the idea of pruning to promote healthy growth in plants). If the punishment was purely retributive the word timoria would have been used.
      Aionias does not simply mean forever but refers to a period of time (of undefined duration) which has a quality about it that will achieve what is intended.
      God's will and good purpose is to make Mankind in his Image and this will be achieved through the will of the Father, the Cross of the Son and the I dwelling of the Spirit.
      This is Good News, believe the Gospel. Grace and Peace.
