    Sarang met her now-husband when he went to Uzbekistan on business. After 3 years of a long distance relationship, they got married in 2010. Her father actually disapproved of the marriage even until the day of their wedding, but she moved to Korea anyway. Is it everything she'd expected it would be?

That man has no shame and it severely toxic. I'm at a loss for words as to why the producers of this show find this acceptable. If a Korean wife married and moved to another country and was treated in this manner, Koreans everywhere would be up in arms about he being a slave. But when its a Korean man with a foreign wife, its ok? Disgusting.

As long as both people are happy in a relationship, whether the man ‘provides’ or the duty is divided equally, that’s all that matters!

      3 - Respectful. Understands what you are. What you do. What you strive for. And helping you where need be.
      What is true to me as a man about a woman is:
      Power - honesty to move through and be un-selfish at times of need.
      Kindness - Attention to everyone, even if it hurts her.
      Authority - To move through uneven times and events through a balanced and fair manner without being contradictory towards herself.
      Language - Being self sufficient and acknowledging languages across the world. In order to be a great woman and at times a hero that does that back down.
      All in all. I (male) wish to meet my best friend through education, groups and by not taking to them. If I am true as a person. I should be respectful and never expect anything and help and be fierce character but cool and listen too.
      Many people who call their partner/current love relationship best friend seem to be offended and take the meaning out of it.
      If my Beloved is not my best friend why would I marry her? Why would she Marry me?
      Kind Regards
      Fahad Malik

      @EmpressKajal I see your point and I agree that the burden is unfairly placed on the mother. That’s why I said there isn’t any issue as long as both parties are happy, whether the financial duty is divided equally or not. Clearly, the people in this relationship are not happy so something has to change. At the end of the day, some people don’t want kids. Some husbands prefer to stay at home and look after the kids while the mother works. Some people like to split it down the middle. Every relationship is different! What works for some may not work for others, imo.

    Just a reminder that life does not have to be this difficult. No glove, no love. And marry before you carry. Life insurance is essential to your family in the event that you pass away. If you can not afford children, do not have them. I see people calling this inspiring but it’s quite the opposite. Please want more for yourselves❤️

    • @rukiakuchiki5136
      @rukiakuchiki5136 2 роки тому +2

      The irony of "marry before you carry" when you havent watched the full episode segment. She is a foreigner who IS MARRIED to a Korean native, which pretty much invalidates your whole narrative in which you shame a woman for not getting a ring before having children. So now she's actually married and trapped to a deadbeat, which is a much worse situation to be in, if she actually just was a single mother. That's actually why she's in the predicament you are observing, and unfairly blaming on single parenting when this is the result of a bad MARRIAGE, not single parenting. She's trapped in the confines of a marriage of an unsupportive spouse. Pretty sure it's much better to carry and not marry than be in a situation that is alot worse, like hers, which actually happens all too often because women tend to rush into marrying a man because they niavely believe (like you) that marriage is the solution to all their problems. It doesnt work like that. Marriage won't make problems magically disappear, or make child bearing any easier if the man you marry pulls a bait and switch like he did onto her. That's were your assessment and advixe is incorrect, and ironic givent he situation that it has landed the person you are using to make an example of. The man she married promised her many things, including to pay for her college tuition...only to bait and switch her once she got pregnant and had his children during their marriage. He is a cheapskate who will give her a $50 monthly "allowance" but that's not even enough for groceries. Not to mention that kids are expensive, and he doesn't buy them toys or clothes. He works, but ends up spending their monthly budget by tapping into her salary, yet contributes very little for the children's or wife's needs. This is why she is hustling, because she got tired of asking him to contribute for the children's and the household's expenses, and him budging very little to none at all. Moreover, she is the one taking care of the children's needs, spending time with them, and doing all the household chores, cleaning, accounting, and cooking. The man she married pretended to be everything she needed in a dependable spouse, but once married he bait and switched her. So there moral of the story here is, you can't always count on a man to take care of his family's needs, and sometimes you're better off alone as a single mother than with one weighing you down. Marriage will not guarantee a better spouse, in fact, sometimes its just another trap...and a harder one to wriggle out of. So would you not agree that this is an excellent example of how single parenting can be better than being married to the wrong person? Point is, your unsolicited advice to this woman's situation is not universal, every relationship is a lot more complicated than your superficial and generalized observation. There is no blanket statement solution that you can apply to everyone, this is a clear example of that. Sometimes, what is an outdated solution to a few women, is now a problem to other and many women like the one in this episode. She would much better thrive as a single parent, than the marriage trap she is currently in....where she is slaving away for a man that will not provide for her or her children, but controls their household income and even takes money away from her (& her children's) hard earnings.

    • @rukiakuchiki5136
      @rukiakuchiki5136 2 роки тому

      @@Grinchthanksgiving I think it's you who doesn't fully understand what irony means. By stating "regardless" of her story, you've basically admitted that her story doesn't apply to your "lesson" as a statistic. Even if you and I disagree on whether or not "marriage" is an important deciding factor in a woman's future success, my point still stands that you've used this woman's situation as a bad example for your lesson. However, I think we live in point in time where marriage is not the only determining factor of a woman's happiness or success. Her husband in the docuseries is a prime example of how even in marriage, you can not always depend on the outcome of marrying a man you thought you'd be successful with. This is a woman who sacrificed and wasted her talents and potential, to settle down with a man in marriage. She was not pregnant before marriage, yet she married this man in order to settle their union the "appropriate" way, as society would say. Once married and pregnant however, all promises fell apart and the man turned out to be a dead beat who relied more on his wife than she could rely on him to be a good father to her children. Given her case, would you not agree she'd be better off raising her children on her own and divorcing her spouse and settling for child support? As it is basically already being demonstrated here that she is married to an unreliable husband who doesn't contribute anything when it comes to raising their children, despite him being the bread winner; all the while she's now caught in the role of a parent trap, doing all the thankless unpaid household work. This woman did not benefit from marriage, but she would have benefitted from establishing a career as a multilingual teacher (she speaks and translates 4 languages fluently, and knows the art of belly dancing). Instead, she married before establishing a career, and because she settled on the idea that marrying a man would be able to provide success and happiness (like many women believe and act on carelessly before establishing a career beforehand), she ended up becoming stifled by the man her children were suppose to be able to rely on. Marriage doesn't determine a woman's success in life, a woman's financial stability does. A woman's financial stability is akin to her freedom and happiness - without it, it doesn't matter if she is married or not because once children are in the picture, she is easily trapped. The benefit of not being married is, if your spouse refuses to contribute to your children's expenses, you still have the option to making him contribute via child support...but once married you're really f*cked over if your man turns out a deadbeat, as seen here. This woman had, and has, so much wasted potential with all her talents...and if only she had a more supportive husband, she could easily become the bread winner in this household. She really doesn't need him, if you watch the full series, you'd see it's him that's dragging her down, keeping her from achieving her goals because he wants to keep her to himself, by letting her waste herself away as a stay at home mom. The reason she struggles is because she wants so much more than what her man is capable or willing to provide. She is an inspiration because she hasn't given up yet on fulfilling her career, despite you and many others telling her "marriage" and a man would have fixed her situation. A bit tone deaf and condescending given her situation don't you think? I doubt she'd appreciate your advice that was entirely made on the assumption that she's not married - as if being a single woman were so bad? If only she'd have been so blessed. Marriage and a man got her in this situation. Her career and a divorce (w/ child support) are the only things getting her out. Only thing holding her back is the stigma of a society that discourages single parenting (she's already basically doing that though), but this woman is more than capable, given that she is young, dedicated, and success driven.

    LIVING IN KOREA AS A FOREIGNER IS SUPER DEPRESSING AND LONELY this isn’t the first family I’ve seen in this show just having a horrible lonely life no friends.. tough schedule limited support like what the fuck kind of sad life is this . Just stay home people but good way of saying we shouldn’t relocate there

      Firstly, that is fairly anecdotal. There have been foreigners who have been successful but it depends on what you do and how well you've adapted. However, there is already a deficits of work even for native Koreans. The problem with Korea is that their job market and corporate industry is in a bad need of reform. Majority of jobs outside of say the food industry is driven my giants backed by the government and they are highly selective in hiring. It's a stupid model for long term prosperity, however it is the driving force why things like UA-cam and e-comic careers have done so well there.
      This woman adapted well but her work is in something too specific to her home country Ubekistan, which doesn't have high salience (language interpretation) or already saturated with many others (dance).

    I love the family, but I hate when I hear comments from the panel of commentators like "doing her duty as the older sister", I know it's cultural. But I really don't like the assumption that the older children should have the burden of the younger ones just bcs they were born first.

      @@YeshuaKingMessiah not it wasn't. And it would have been great saying "oh, look how helpful she's been!"..the term duty and knowing how they consider the filial duty in Asian countries, yeah not so much. The fact that you are the eldest sibling doesn't mean you have to parent your younger ones. In Asian societies, the eldest children are required to act a certain way that I don't find really right.

      Not just older children but older female children in particular are often raised as second mothers with the idea that one day she will be “doing her duty as a wife” for a husband. Really horrible to think that she may never get to live for herself as a young boy might.

    Uzbek ppl are from the same branch as Uyghur people from turkic ethnicity, they are lucky that have Asian features, as well as Turkmens, Kyrgyzs, Kazakhs, Mongols, Nogays, Buryats, Tatars n others from central Asia, Some turkic n mongol republics in Russia, so it's easy n right to fit into Korean or Japanese community.
