Just received an internship at a local IT company to help on the helpdesk, I'm glad i looked up this video since I have no experience with helpdesk, or even calling people in general tbh. If anyone has any advice on how to calm the nerves when receiving calls or making calls at the helpdesk that would be greatly appreciated, since I'm quite socially anxious
I know exactly how you feel. Just think of it as something you have to do in order to be successful. So, before you call someone, make sure you do your research about the issue so that you are ready to talk about it. When receiving calls make sure your tools are ready for work; for example, everything that you will most likely need to use during the call (like a notepad, password reset system open, and etc).

Yes, it happens sometimes. Just don't take it personally and try to help as much as you can.
