  • There’s arguably no better place to experience Formula One than the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. Situated on a man made Island built for Expo 67, the first race was hosted there in 1978 and it quickly became established as a real favourite with the fans, leading to some of the most unpredictable and spectacular moments in the history of the sport. Every Grand Prix weekend, the city of Montreal is transformed into a race haven with an unparalleled vibe, featuring checkered flags on every corner, pop-up shops, street festivals, fancy cars, late night parties and tens of thousands of tourists from every corner of the globe who come to be part of one of Formula One’s most beloved races.

    It's got a Park and a lake like Albert Park but also a beach! It's got a hairpin, casino and walls like Monaco but not any wall, it's the wall of champions! It's got passionate fans like Monza, Suzuka & Silverstone but also natural wildlife. It's named after one of the GREATS like Imola, Mexico & Interlagos but with a son as F1 Champion. Finally it's like Spa & Nurburgring, a classic that deserves to be in the calendar forever♥‼

    You guys are in for a big time life experience. Happy for you. I'm a lucky American -- I'd guess I've been to 8 ( maybe more) F1 races in Montreal. I saw Gilles race there in the rain with a broken front wing. Saw Senna and all the great drivers of that era. Last year I caught qualifying. Montreal is my favorite city in North America. So for this long time F1 fan it's as good as it gets.

    Well done! I cannot imagine a better presentation of the Montreal Grand Prix. It was nice to hear the conclusion with Daniel Ricardo and his Aussie accent saying « Merci Mon-tree-all. Je t'aime. » 😃

    Thank you so much for this video! I think the F1 experience in Montreal is something that needs to be lived in person to truly grasp it but this is the closest thing for those that can only watch it from a distance. I've been many times, starting in 96, and each edition has its own charm, its level of random events, and its history! A great kickoff to the summer events for the city!

    Just do not bother purchasing general admission tickets because there are maybe less than a handful of spots where you can actually see any part of the track. Originally, when they first started racing here in Montreal, there were plenty of places to watch with a GA ticket. But year after year, they built more and more grandstands, removing spots where you could sit on the grass and watch the race. At first you were able to watch from in front of the grandstands, because the first row of seats is about 20 feet above the ground, but then they blocked that area off as well.
    So if you plan on going, spend the extra money and get a seat in a grandstand. If that is out of your budget, drop in to one of Montreal's many sports bars and watch it on TV and spend your money on beer and wings. Or go watch the race for free on the giant outdoor screen on Crescent Street, if they still do that.

    As a person who was there in 2023, One big tip i recommend is to not be cheap, do not pick the bleacher seats they are peasant seats, with no confort, and you are squished like a sardine. Please if your budge allows spend the extra 200-300 for actual seats nots bleaches. the experience was a solid 7/10 and the section of seats ruined it for me. Mind you i had a killer view from turn 1 still would never buy cheap seats again (i paid 400 USD)

      yes it was the same track. F1, Indy/Cart and Nascar race that track at some point. but if I remember well.... it was not the top Nascar class.

      I'd venture a guess that 90% of the people who complain about the lack of engine noise never heard either car in person. The current cars are by no means quiet.

      Compared to the sound that used to be, the new ones are noting. They don't have soul, boring and gutless. I am not taking about the technology or the look of the car witch is much better than the other yers. Can you just imagine the new cars with 2000 v10 engins.. you would experience greatness and pure engin sound. But they took in away from us

    Except for the never ending road repairs, pot holes that created terrible traffic and famous for car thefts in the North America. Montreal is a great city.

    • @Mr_Spock512
      @Mr_Spock512 22 дні тому

      Our long harsh winters (freezing and melting) ruins our roads and the best time to repair them is in the warm months ... so it is what it is.
      Road maintenance in warmer climates is much simpler.
